Thanks Mark! You are the only guy on YT that I have seen that has the cohones to remove the bezel on camera, everyone else starts the process with the case knife, struggles a bit, then cuts to show the bezel off! Same with the insert, they chicken out and obviously make several failed attempts before cutting to the bezel insert removed.
Wow that was much easier than I was expecting. When my ray 2 bezel is due to be replaced I'll definitely be trying my hand at this with a ceramic insert! Awesome! Thanks for
Sharing your trade secret!!
I was just going to look for a video on this, and here you did it. Thank you. Also, your custom options are making me think I will get a Seiko Diver soon.
Thank you for checking it out.
Changed my first bezel insert using your video as a guide. 👍🏼
thank you for this video marc, with your great videos regarding watches we surely learn something new every day.
Love the slopped bezel , always hated the flat ones , and I think the gmt bezel looks great ... thanks for the vid mark !
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Where do I buy elbow grease??!!
LOL!
Oldie but goodie! Thanks for another great tutorial Mark!
Watching this one Sat, 6/27, and the watch is set to Saturday the 27th....grooooovy man.
Hi,
got my blue insert for my Triton/Neptune. It took about 15 Minutes to change it. Lifted the bezel, removed the aluminum insert, cleaned the bezel, put it back on aligned the bezel and put in the sapphire one. Looks so cool, can't wait until it gets dark. If I can do it, you will also.
Cool! I learned something new today. Thanks for the informative Watch and Learn, Marc!
You are welcome.
Just subbed, found you from chats with TGV, thanks and have a rad day!
Very instructive and a pleasing result. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thanks Randy.
Thanks Marc! Super helpful.
Looking forward to see what people do
With the dial as well when they use the insert, not sure just the insert works.
Love these teaching videos 👍
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Good job Marc. Thank you, sir!
Thank you.
A fiddly job, far easier if you are not having to provide verbal instructions, and, work through a camera, good job Marc, and what a difference the ceramic makes!
Indeed, thank you!
Looks amazing. Great video and Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I watched, and then I learned! Thanks Mark!
That's what I like to hear.
Mark, great video. Question, I know you just launched for the Mako/Ray/ USA and congrats on that. Wondering if, in the long run, you may make a ceramic that will fit the Triton? I know there are a lot less of those out there and not sure if it would make financial sense for you but just wondering, hoping.. LOL. Thanks for your incredible contributions to the watch hobby world. It's really awesome how committed you are to making fantastic videos, listening to your clients and viewers, and taking chances coming up with new ways for us to enhance our watches. You're doing it all.
I like the 24 hour bezel with lum. Helps me see the time better at night . These old eyes need all the help they can get :-)
Thanks so much. I really needed to see this 🙏❤️
Awesome, love the watch and learn!!!
Thank you.
Brilliant, thanks for posting that up.
Thank you for the video.
Great informative Video, thank you, Marc. I am always afraid of scratching my watches...... In some cases, it will be better for me to buy some upgraded pieces by yourself or your third party....
Understood, and thanks for watching.
Thank you this video was super helpful ....
Great help Marc. Thanks
Great video. Thank you much sir
Interesting and helpful. Thanks.
You can put some adhesive tape on the case to avoid scratching it...
Great tutorial! I have a 41mm Certina Precidrive Quartz and would like to swap bezels but don’t know where to find the right type/size.
Great video. Thanks
Must make note of that for the "to get" list...Goo Gone. Thanks Marc. :-)
Isopropyl alcohol should do the job of removing the sticky. Or WD40 will work too.
Marc, you may not have the delicate hands of a surgeon but that was still very well done and interesting. Looks cool with new bezel. Sans bezel surprisingly appears great too, seems nice. A steel diver bezel would be a great option for the SKX007.
Thanks!
Nicely done & thanks for sharing 👍🍻
Thanks Simon!
Long Island Watch , I appreciate your videos tremendeously. Could you do something on the topic of horological tools, where to get decent quality without them being ridiculously expensive etc.?
Thank you! 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I enjoyed your video showing how scratch resistant a ceramic insert is. You have to be carfeul with Seiko inserts not to scratch them as they can mark easily being painted aluminium. They look quite cool when they're fully worn out and scratched to bits. Its just those first scratches that are the worst to get over and they look so bad too.
Right. It needs time to become seasoned :)
Awesome, thanks!
Thank you, Marc!
You are welcome!
Now I know ! Thx for posting.
Damn Bill Hader!!! Great work
Nice working~ and always be careful
A poly bag like a bank coin bag over the bezel before jamming in a knife can help prevent scratches for you newbies at home trying for first time. And also double check the alignment/seating of the bezel click spring before snapping the Bezel back on.
Thank you!
Thanx for the video Mark
You are welcome!
Nice one Mark thank you.
Thank you.
Good job...is it the same procedure with the Glycine Combat Sub?
Thanks Marc. Would it be easier to remove the tape facing and place the insert on the tape versus place the tape on the insert?
Hi Marc,
I’d love your advice on a bezel insert for a Casio MTD1010! I’ve not seen any other videos on it and heaps of people are looking!
i realize Im kinda off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream new movies online ?
Hi, awesome video, so where did you buy the ceramic belz insert? Thanks
i imagine the traditional glue for this would be shellac ... also used for saxophone pads (and iirc older dial markers), it can be heated to unstick it
Marc, you are a cool dude hope to meet you some day!! Herb
looks so much better jusst aesthetics and no prupose but still great
I usually try to save the insert by heating it with hair dryer, makes it easier to pop intact. Either I sell it, or save it and replace it back for warranty purposes.
Yup, done that!
yeah it was tough to see him destroy a perfectly good bezel insert for no reason. I'm debating whether I should splurge on buying one.
@@calumryan6328 yeah, kind of dumb to do that!!
Very informative video.
Thanks!
Hi Mark, any tips for tough to remove inserts? I'm trying to replace my skx007 insert and it's just tough to get the insert out. More power to your channel.
I’m a massive skx fan
Great video! Quick question: do most jewelers offer this service? I'm a klutz, and don't want to damage a watch I spent hundred of dollars on...when I finally have the dollars to spend on a nice watch.
Thank you very much. Definitely will try this. One question, can I use SKX bezel insert on sea urchin?
apparently they arent compatible, sea urchin is convex and skx is a bit concave or at least flat from what I can tell
Do you have this in 12 hours version in the exact same colour and (at least) with lumed 12 hour marking?
Hi . Thank you so much for sharing your passion and expertise with us.
May I ask you sir, on a Casio Edifice, the bezel is mounted with screws.
Is there any way of modifying it to make it moveable?
I highly doubt it
I am looking for a black Submariner style metallic bezel insert for my Seiko SNZH55, do you have any suggestions on where to find one? I have only seen them in ceramic. Thanks for the videos!
Will the red metallic paint scratch like paint on a regular aluminum bezel?
Would love a vintage style bezel for your watch your way
Maybe that's something for the future.
Any curing/dry time required for the 3M adhesive?
Can we do this even for a Fossil Smartwatch ? The watch in question is the Fossil FTW4041
Hi Marc
I have followed you quite while with your honest advice, I want my seiko turtle to look as slim as possible, is there a bezel that is slim and slopes down and blue ceramic gmt insert to fit this type of bezel. Thank You.
Do you know if these will fit the new seiko 5 sports watches?
That looks so good. It looked like a pointless change until you had it all put together
Does the ceramic insert protrude above the bezel as its thicker?
I have a 1990 model 7002-700J. Can you tell me if the skx crystal and bezel insert will fit this old beast?
Can you do a video on crystal domes
Hi Marc,
I owne the seiko SSC015P1 and i wold like to mod it. Do you have any suggetions ? Also Where to find ceramic inserts ?
Thanks a lot
Finally someone saying what I've been thinking for ages! GMT bezels make no sense on a watch without a GMT hand.
LOL, right???
Hey mark, will you be producing a Pepsi bezel to which the blue has the same “metallic” look that the red portion has? Thanks!
Does this apply to the SRPD aswell?
Hi marc, how big the gap between the slope bezel and the glass?
Hello!
Could you please tell me the exact name of the type of 3M adhesive you used to glue the bezel insert?
I bought a 3M adhesive but it was not as versatile as the one you used and the adhesive stuck to my fingers. The adhesive is very similar to the one you used but in the center it has adhesive tape.
Thanks a lot!!
If you bought a spare bezel could you fit the insert to it off the watch in any alignment, and then just pop the whole thing on the watch and it’ll be lined up?
I heard that, nail polish remover can also help to remove it.
Looks brand new.
Would you recommend this technique on a oris diver 65?
for a sloped bezel insert to work, do I need to replace my stock flat crystal with a domed one? thank you
How is the bezel on a Casio Duro (MDV106) attached to the watch. Seems like a good Watch & Learn topic IMHO
Hi Marc, thx for the tutorial. Does this procedure apply for the Seiko Sumo as well?
It would be the same for a Sumo. Although take into consideration the Sumo bezel might be a little harder to pop off as you can only get the knife under the bezel at 12 and 6 positions due to the case shroud on the sides.
Yeah.
will the black ceramic bezel insert on your website, for seiko skx007 fit in the new seiko 5 sport watches?
Tried on grovana diver. 6 knifes, 2 chisels. In the end bezel was removed. Watch get straight to the robbish bin. Thanks
Mark, aside from 3m tape, is there a special bezel glue?
The bezel on mine warped (it was soft metal maybe aluminum) and I could not get the shape back so had to order a new watch case
When will you have these back in stock?
I did this and the spring was all over the kitchen.
Mark, how can I upgrade my tag, way111a, aquaracer to a ceramic? I cant find anything that fits the bill and would be grateful for the help.
⭕ Hey Mark, I have a 90's Rolex stainless steel Submariner, my bezel insert is scratched up, I want to upgrade it to ceramic. What are your thoughts on that? ⭕
I have my Orient Kamasu and i cannot pry off the bezel. I cant slide anything underneath. I dont know if it can be removed but any info would help
Can i ask, where did you buy the black ceramic bezel, do you have link which i can get access to buy
How do you know what size insert to get. I have a Seiko prospex save the ocean 45mm
hi have you heard of new upgraded Sumo coming out with a different movement ang sapphire crystal
Just what was shown at Basel.
can the ceramic bezel thickness same as the aluminium...can fit? or it is has to be that way where by the ceramic is always thicker and still be placed into the bezel if my watch is aluminium last time or do i have to change the outer ring as well?m thanks
I have a Seiko Kinetic 5M62 watch and Seiko only sell the full bezel, I don't need that I just want to replace the scratched bezel. What would I need, a flat or sloping bezel? it looks straightforward taking the bezel off the watch, how difficult was it to put back on?
Yes.
