Thanks Mark! You are the only guy on YT that I have seen that has the cohones to remove the bezel on camera, everyone else starts the process with the case knife, struggles a bit, then cuts to show the bezel off! Same with the insert, they chicken out and obviously make several failed attempts before cutting to the bezel insert removed.
Wow that was much easier than I was expecting. When my ray 2 bezel is due to be replaced I'll definitely be trying my hand at this with a ceramic insert! Awesome! Thanks for Sharing your trade secret!!
I was just going to look for a video on this, and here you did it. Thank you. Also, your custom options are making me think I will get a Seiko Diver soon.
Hi, got my blue insert for my Triton/Neptune. It took about 15 Minutes to change it. Lifted the bezel, removed the aluminum insert, cleaned the bezel, put it back on aligned the bezel and put in the sapphire one. Looks so cool, can't wait until it gets dark. If I can do it, you will also.
A fiddly job, far easier if you are not having to provide verbal instructions, and, work through a camera, good job Marc, and what a difference the ceramic makes!
I usually try to save the insert by heating it with hair dryer, makes it easier to pop intact. Either I sell it, or save it and replace it back for warranty purposes.
Long Island Watch , I appreciate your videos tremendeously. Could you do something on the topic of horological tools, where to get decent quality without them being ridiculously expensive etc.? Thank you! 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I enjoyed your video showing how scratch resistant a ceramic insert is. You have to be carfeul with Seiko inserts not to scratch them as they can mark easily being painted aluminium. They look quite cool when they're fully worn out and scratched to bits. Its just those first scratches that are the worst to get over and they look so bad too.
Hi . Thank you so much for sharing your passion and expertise with us. May I ask you sir, on a Casio Edifice, the bezel is mounted with screws. Is there any way of modifying it to make it moveable?
A poly bag like a bank coin bag over the bezel before jamming in a knife can help prevent scratches for you newbies at home trying for first time. And also double check the alignment/seating of the bezel click spring before snapping the Bezel back on.
Marc, you may not have the delicate hands of a surgeon but that was still very well done and interesting. Looks cool with new bezel. Sans bezel surprisingly appears great too, seems nice. A steel diver bezel would be a great option for the SKX007.
I can't get Citizen to replace the outer bezel on my 9 yr. old U600-S052190 Blue Angels Skyhawk! It sat in Kalifornia 3 weeks with no results, and all I get from Citizen service centers is the excuse of no parts can be had! Short of calling Citizen's CEO, Do you have the ability to help me? The bezel really looks bad!!! I've seen your work, and you are truly an expert. Thank you!
When you change the crystal to a domed sapphire, is it still water resistant (can I still wear in hot tub, shower and in the sea?). My watchmaker said it wouldn't be and they can not seal test it because it will blow out?? Which disappointed me as I wanted to mod my skx007. Cheers for any advice.
Watchmaker is not worth his salt. All you do to water test it is reassemble the empty wath case (no movement) and see if it fogs up in an hour underwater. My experience is that if the domed crystal has the same diameter, it has the potential to be just as waterproof
I have a Seiko Kinetic 5M62 watch and Seiko only sell the full bezel, I don't need that I just want to replace the scratched bezel. What would I need, a flat or sloping bezel? it looks straightforward taking the bezel off the watch, how difficult was it to put back on?
I am looking for a black Submariner style metallic bezel insert for my Seiko SNZH55, do you have any suggestions on where to find one? I have only seen them in ceramic. Thanks for the videos!
I have a Tudor Pelagos 25500TN. How can I replace the bezel insert? It's gotten scratched over time. I also need to find a source for a new insert. Thanks
If you bought a spare bezel could you fit the insert to it off the watch in any alignment, and then just pop the whole thing on the watch and it’ll be lined up?
Hi, i have a watch, Sea-Gull Ocean Star, but the bezel is doesn't pointing at the 12-clock position and i want to fix it. Do you have any advice ? Should i take it to the watch repair shop? thank you so much!
I have a Seiko 6306... Is there a replaceable bezel insert on this or is it a one-piece bezel? I've removed the bezel, but I cannot see any sort of bezel insert edge... After 44 years as a daily wear watch, it is definitely showing its age on the bezel face...
can the ceramic bezel thickness same as the aluminium...can fit? or it is has to be that way where by the ceramic is always thicker and still be placed into the bezel if my watch is aluminium last time or do i have to change the outer ring as well?m thanks
Hi Marc I have followed you quite while with your honest advice, I want my seiko turtle to look as slim as possible, is there a bezel that is slim and slopes down and blue ceramic gmt insert to fit this type of bezel. Thank You.
There is no ceramic bezel on your site. Can you recommend one that is good to use? I found an aluminum one, but I think you said that was not the way to go. Thanx snzf15 Seiko blue red diver
Great informative Video, thank you, Marc. I am always afraid of scratching my watches...... In some cases, it will be better for me to buy some upgraded pieces by yourself or your third party....
FYI for other DYI's... - use a plastic razor blade to remove the bezel (at least start it, then mask your case before metal to metal) - It is possible to preform this repair w/o bezel removal (recommended) - A fine wristwatch is no place for a Bull in a China shop... Watch repair requires significant 'finesse', which only a fraction of (current) human beings possess. - Take your time, think in advance of the tools and supplies which will make your repair a high grade professional repair - plastic pray tools, masking tapes, q-tips, rubbing alcohol, very sharp and fine cutting tools for excess removal. - Have at it, I'm going to tackle my 87 Omega Seamaster insert SOON ! * footnote: DO NOT lay your watch on the floor and "put your knee into it".
Do you know what size bezel insert a Spinnaker Dumas has? I'm not happy with the mineral glass one. It wobbles when I try to rotate the bezel and is too fragile for purpose.
Great video! Quick question: do most jewelers offer this service? I'm a klutz, and don't want to damage a watch I spent hundred of dollars on...when I finally have the dollars to spend on a nice watch.
Hello! Could you please tell me the exact name of the type of 3M adhesive you used to glue the bezel insert? I bought a 3M adhesive but it was not as versatile as the one you used and the adhesive stuck to my fingers. The adhesive is very similar to the one you used but in the center it has adhesive tape. Thanks a lot!!
Do you have to have the upgraded sapphire crystal to use a ceramic bezel? If so what kind of bezel do I purchase to apply with the original hard lex crystal?
Hey man, it doesnt matter. They are entirely separate parts of the watch. Its like asking if you have to wear a black t shirt to wear a black jacket. Two different clothes. Both the saphire uograde and the ceramic bezel are to make the watch more scratch proof. I personally would choose the bezel only, if I had to pixk
Is it possible to save the insert? I bought a usa special edition land tortoise from you to mod. I bout that version specifically because it is the only one with a black and gray compass bezel. I want to cerekote the and the bezel black. I need to be able to reinstall the insert. Would I be able to purchase this insert if I destroyed the one on the watch?
Nice video ! But, aftermarket bezel insert is not always available . For example , I have Orient Triton with scratched aluminium bezel insert, but can not find any ceramic insert on a market ((
Excelente. Por favor dime como se puede quitar el insert en el modelo CITIZEN Diver Eco Drive BN0150-61E. Quiero ponerlo el insert de ceramica pero no sé cómo quitar el original. Es diferente del Seiko. Gracias.
Hi Mark, any tips for tough to remove inserts? I'm trying to replace my skx007 insert and it's just tough to get the insert out. More power to your channel.
Thanks Mark! Changed my first bezel insert using your video as a guide. 👍🏼
Where do I buy elbow grease??!!
LOL!
I was just going to look for a video on this, and here you did it. Thank you. Also, your custom options are making me think I will get a Seiko Diver soon.
Thank you for checking it out.

Indeed, thank you!
Finally someone saying what I've been thinking for ages! GMT bezels make no sense on a watch without a GMT hand.
LOL, right???
Watching this one Sat, 6/27, and the watch is set to Saturday the 27th....grooooovy man.
Love the slopped bezel , always hated the flat ones , and I think the gmt bezel looks great ... thanks for the vid mark !
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
I like the 24 hour bezel with lum. Helps me see the time better at night . These old eyes need all the help they can get :-)
Marc, you are a cool dude hope to meet you some day!! Herb
I usually try to save the insert by heating it with hair dryer, makes it easier to pop intact. Either I sell it, or save it and replace it back for warranty purposes.
Yup, done that!
yeah it was tough to see him destroy a perfectly good bezel insert for no reason. I'm debating whether I should splurge on buying one.
@@calumryan6328 yeah, kind of dumb to do that!!
Oldie but goodie! Thanks for another great tutorial Mark!
thank you for this video marc, with your great videos regarding watches we surely learn something new every day.
Looking forward to see what people do
With the dial as well when they use the insert, not sure just the insert works.
Love these teaching videos 👍
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
I prefer to put the adhesive tape on the bezel, that way I can hold the bezel insert with tweezers and makes lining it all up a bit easier.
I like using spit to hold it in place!!!!!🙂
Long Island Watch , I appreciate your videos tremendeously. Could you do something on the topic of horological tools, where to get decent quality without them being ridiculously expensive etc.?
Thank you! 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nice working~ and always be careful
Great tutorial! I have a 41mm Certina Precidrive Quartz and would like to swap bezels but don’t know where to find the right type/size.
Just subbed, found you from chats with TGV, thanks and have a rad day!
I watched, and then I learned! Thanks Mark!
That's what I like to hear.
Damn Bill Hader!!! Great work

Right. It needs time to become seasoned :)
You can put some adhesive tape on the case to avoid scratching it...
Very instructive and a pleasing result. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thanks Randy.
That looks so good. It looked like a pointless change until you had it all put together
Good job Marc. Thank you, sir!
Thank you.
Hi . Thank you so much for sharing your passion and expertise with us.
May I ask you sir, on a Casio Edifice, the bezel is mounted with screws.
Is there any way of modifying it to make it moveable?
I highly doubt it
Cool! I learned something new today. Thanks for the informative Watch and Learn, Marc!
You are welcome.
A poly bag like a bank coin bag over the bezel before jamming in a knife can help prevent scratches for you newbies at home trying for first time. And also double check the alignment/seating of the bezel click spring before snapping the Bezel back on.
Thank you!
Tried on grovana diver. 6 knifes, 2 chisels. In the end bezel was removed. Watch get straight to the robbish bin. Thanks
Thank you this video was super helpful ....

Great help Marc. Thanks
I heard that, nail polish remover can also help to remove it.

Thanks so much. I really needed to see this 🙏❤️
Thank you very much. Definitely will try this. One question, can I use SKX bezel insert on sea urchin?
apparently they arent compatible, sea urchin is convex and skx is a bit concave or at least flat from what I can tell
for a sloped bezel insert to work, do I need to replace my stock flat crystal with a domed one? thank you
When you change the crystal to a domed sapphire, is it still water resistant (can I still wear in hot tub, shower and in the sea?). My watchmaker said it wouldn't be and they can not seal test it because it will blow out?? Which disappointed me as I wanted to mod my skx007.

I have my Orient Kamasu and i cannot pry off the bezel. I cant slide anything underneath. I dont know if it can be removed but any info would help
at 3:44 i thought for a second it was on 2x speed how you were talking :)) admit i was high

Can you remove the insert without removing the bezel?
Interesting and helpful. Thanks.

I did this and the spring was all over the kitchen.
can the ceramic bezel thickness same as the aluminium...can fit? or it is has to be that way where by the ceramic is always thicker and still be placed into the bezel if my watch is aluminium last time or do i have to change the outer ring as well?m thanks
Thanks Marc. Would it be easier to remove the tape facing and place the insert on the tape versus place the tape on the insert?
Hi Marc
I have followed you quite while with your honest advice, I want my seiko turtle to look as slim as possible, is there a bezel that is slim and slopes down and blue ceramic gmt insert to fit this type of bezel. Thank You.
Hey mark, will you be producing a Pepsi bezel to which the blue has the same “metallic” look that the red portion has? Thanks!
Can i ask, where did you buy the black ceramic bezel, do you have link which i can get access to buy
There is no ceramic bezel on your site. Can you recommend one that is good to use? I found an aluminum one, but I think you said that was not the way to go. Thanx snzf15 Seiko blue red diver
Good job...is it the same procedure with the Glycine Combat Sub?
Wheres that clock from? It's awesome.
random human very popular, u could probably find it on amazon

Would you recommend this technique on a oris diver 65?

How is the bezel on a Casio Duro (MDV106) attached to the watch. Seems like a good Watch & Learn topic IMHO
Do you know what size bezel insert a Spinnaker Dumas has? I'm not happy with the mineral glass one. It wobbles when I try to rotate the bezel and is too fragile for purpose.
The bezel on mine warped (it was soft metal maybe aluminum) and I could not get the shape back so had to order a new watch case
Where is a good place to get Ceramic Bezels? Looking to find 45.5mm gloss black bezel for my Omega
Thanx for the video Mark
You are welcome!
Would be awesome to this bezel on new Seiko Sports GMT.
I don’t know why Seiko did not made a Pepsi color.
will the black ceramic bezel insert on your website, for seiko skx007 fit in the new seiko 5 sport watches?
Thank you for the video.
Mark, aside from 3m tape, is there a special bezel glue?
Would love a vintage style bezel for your watch your way
Maybe that's something for the future.

You can fit Turtle bezels with insert on to Samurai.
I'll have to check out if the turtle fits the samurai

Thx Jon👍 will have a look..
Is there a ceramic bezel replacement for the Seiko Prospex SRPA21 "PADI" (4R36-05H0)?
Any idea when the ceramic Pepsi bezel for the SKX will be available for sale?
I would love to know as well

How come some of your products aren’t available for UK?! ☹️

Isopropyl alcohol should do the job of removing the sticky. Or WD40 will work too.
Hi Marc,
I’d love your advice on a bezel insert for a Casio MTD1010! I’ve not seen any other videos on it and heaps of people are looking!
i realize Im kinda off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream new movies online ?
