Watching this, i realised that Precision Intensify effects your 4, and not every fourth ability you cast like Protea's passive.
I feel a bit silly right now.
The exact same thing happened to me when I tried making a build around it. I don't know how DE could word it better but it's vague enough as is to be misinterpreted
@@jacob-2271while its an easy mistake to make, the wording on protea is "on your ability cast" while this one is just "on your 4th ability"; imo i dont think they can make the wording any better unless they add - how the it actually works in the same text box.

This dude lifts at the library instead of the gym, but is clearly able to out-tank Rhino - and make his allies do the same. I love him, he's everything I could ever want (except armor stip, you rely on slash procs that ignore armor), and he's such an incredible delight to play.
I'm by no means an expert on Warframe builds, but if you want you could replace his exalted tome with Tempest Barrage. You might need to adjust the build a little bit, but it's an easy way of getting armor strip on Dante. (Plus, should you decide to run it's augment, it'll also spread viral fairly well.)
You would have to put 2 green shards on him for the corrosive procs to reach 100% armor strip
@@Frey0776 given the fire rate of Tempest Barrage. May be better to simply build his book with corrosive dmg. Or even Toxic (+ archon continuity). And the 2 corrosive shards as well, as that other person commented.
Also Zime failed to notice/mention iirc, but the birds also debuff targets so they take more status (which seems to be an additive buff to typical status chance mods), it isn't as great as Citrine's SC buff, but it helps as well with that much strength

@Modeus_ technically we *are* rebuilding dante to help loid out. So depending on how you interpret it he can be alive by now.
The best thing about Dante for sure is how easy it was to get him.
Besides the resources to buy him outright, I got really good drops in the mission and got his blueprint twice and his neuroptics three times.
It can be very generous as long as you play the mission as it should be and I feel like many F2P people will have him easily by next week.
This makes me feel better. Just gotta do new war and whispers first lol
Yeah I just did one longish run and I got the BP, 2 systems, and chassis, and enough of the currency to buy the neurotics so it's a super simple farm I think.
The greatest part about Dante grind is the fact that you can buy missing parts, i think i've run about 60 rounds total of disruption and i can already buy everything in Loid's shop (unlike the damn Gauss grind)
I just want to point out, yesterday it was not super easy for everyone. There was a bug where even if the part blueprints appeared on your screen as rewards, you were not extracting with them. Hopefully they have fixed it today
@@KingJerbear that happened to me to last night. I thought I got the blueprints to the fist weapon when it was just a component. It was a mess to sort through, but I was glad the drops did work out well enough. Hope it continues tonight too.
You missed that Dante can cash in on electric and gas damage as well on his 4. The complete list he can cash in on is Heat, Slash, Toxic, Electric, and Gas
I put Gas Electric on my Noctua and goddamn. Gas, Elec, Slash on one weapon plus his 4 is insane.

he can also make use of all archon mods. all elemental attacks from his exalted tomb count as ability hits. so they can actually proc stuff like archon stretch or continuity.

Also; Cascadia Flare and Secondary Outburst apparently carry over from your normal Secondary weapon to Noctua.

Can you stack them up using notctua or do you have to swap off, build, and swap to noctua again?
@rmills963 flare stacks from any heat proc, so if you build heat, it can definitely be stacked up with Dantes book.
Also, Archon Vitality does apply to heat procs from exalted weapons... not that Dante really needs a vitality mod, it seems.
I haven't seen anyone talking about this, but if you use archon continuity and a toxin mod in noctua you can get tons of extra toxin and corrosive stacks not just from noctua itself, since it counts as an ability, but the light-dark version of the 4. The tome copy also applies to allies and copies the mod setup, so you're adding toxin and corrosive to everyone on the team to help with CO and armor strip
This is good to know, and I assume still probably works when you Helminth over his 1. On another note, Archon Intensify triggers off of his 2, so you can have 30% more power strength when casting anything involving the 2 (2-2-4, 2-3-4, 3-2-4)
Thats the part im conflicted about; do you mod Noctua for DPS withViral? Do you do Heat with archon Vitality for more damage with dark->light verse? Toxin with archon continuity for armor strip? Does he apply enough toxin(corrosive) to full strip with emerald archon shards in that configuration? He has a lot of build flexibility - i hope to try them all out once i get home maxed out
@@KingMasteron1 See I don't see a spot for vitality, if i was running it anyway I'd for sure run archon vitality as you described. Now Archon Stretch maybe? With Electricity on his Noctua? I'm running Stretch anyway so that might be an option. To get toxin AND electricity would be really tough though.
@@KingMasteron1 I like it better as a support, you don't have room for damage if you use the 4 invocations and it really feels silly to not with how much power they give. Viral takes 2 of 4 mod slots, but that would be a multiplier for slash when using tragedy. I dont think archon vitality is worth sacrificing a mod slot on your warframe to boost noctua, it doesn't really do enough damage.
@@Dedalus94 I feel the Khra Canticle is much better than running Archon Stretch for energy which at least allows you get Armor strip and Energy sustain with less mods if thats what youre looking for

Personally, I found some pretty good success with using the Noctua as a dps tool by using the idea you put into practice with Mesa, using the Ceramic Dagger + Secondary Outburst.

@@who3515 The Arcane adds a bunch of crit and damage to your secondary weapon based on your melee combo, I think the Ceramic Dagger incarnon just basically makes it easy to be at max melee combo all the time but I haven't gotten to unlock it yet
ok im glad its not just me ive also been using this as soon as I looked into the book and found out its a secondary I wondered if it worked like regulators and it did so ive been abusing that
im also running combat discipline with arcane avenger for the crit because it apparently now triggers even when you damage overguard now
its so sick seeing the alt fire hit millions I do wish it could have an arcane though encumber would go crazy on this thing

Great frame and very fun gameplay cycle. He immediately jumped into my top 3 favorite frames to play.
Also Sickening Pulse is really nice on him as well.
The Paragrimms(birds) not only act has decoys and provide some slash damage they actually put a debuff on the enemies that make them more vulnerable to status effects. With a high enough strength stat you can push to over 200% status vulnerability. Use your Pageflight(Birds) and load the enemies with stautses and when they get debuffed hit them with Tragedy. Big damage!
when i first found ur channel, as a newcomer the intro "aaaaaaalll....right! hello and weeeeellcome" was funny but now its very comforting. these build guides are rly useful as a new player, thank u mr brozime!!
He gives me real good Wisp vibes. More buttons to press but overall just a good support Warframe that doubles as a weapons platform. I love how versatile he is but it makes finding the right build so difficult.
I grinded two copies of him in ~2ish hours with a friend right after the patch drop then rushed him. I then spent the evening helping friends grind the SP disruption. We stayed to round 40 easily while I was using him to keep everyone alive while also room clearing constantly. He is busted in ways that you can't really see here.
Wtf. I farmed for 2 hours and got his BO and neuroptics twice each.

FYI his 4 is bugged in that if you're not the host and you cast the double 3 version, it doesn't cash in on DoT and ends up doing pitiful amounts of damage.

thank you SO MUCH for showing a build without arcane energize. i felt so bad for not having it when i watched other videos on him, but after seeing your build i will try him again
The only thing worth noting past this video is that enemies damaged by your birds have an increased status chance against them, thus allowing your 3 to put more slash procs and thus, increasing the damage cashed in by Tragedy. Haven't tried to see if it applies to weapon status, though (I'd assume that it'd work, though)
I can't wait to see what kind of augments DE creates for Dante!
The best thing about this build is a new player can replace the Primed mods with the regular versions (or the Archon versions) and get the entire build fairly easily once they have the forma and potato. Both of the arcanes are on a pity system, Energy Nexus can be replaced with Fleeting Expertise at minimal loss, and Precision Intensify is a reasonable drop that they will likely get farming Dante's parts in the first place.
Noctua's build is the most expensive part, and that can be farmed or bought from the Market for a pittance of plat.
As a Styanax main who likes to support the team with my Overguard, I'm really looking forward to playing Dante. :D
Just dont give chroma or frames that use rage overguard.
@@robertharris6092 Meh. Vex Armor is a very outdated ability. Between Styanax and Dante giving out Overguard like free candy, you'd be hardpressed to find yourself not having Overguard nowadays. I'd rather the mission last a few minutes longer if it means the entire team survives without a scratch, like in Netracells or Archon Hunts.

@@robertharris6092 The benefits of Overguard for the ENTIRE team far FAR outweighs the INDIVIDUAL damage boost you get from Vex armor. Rally Point helps with energy as well.
You are allowed to use Vex Armor, nobody is stopping you. But that also means I'm also allowed to use Intrepid Stand. Live and let live. If you can't handle that, just play solo. Simple as that.

The new simulacrum is a cool touch, definitely helps with how the game is presented on youtube etc.
I do like the simulated spaces WF uses for the Simulacrum and MR tests etc. though, but it's a nice option.
I kinda wonder how something like Halo: Reach's Firefight could translate to Warframe, seems like a fun sandbox to goof around with, creating builds for unique problems etc.
Also, love the Transformers Bumblebee-ish color scheme on the landing craft, looks cool with Grineer themes. Dante + Wisp is way too badass btw., my Wisp matches your Dante well.

I literally brought this dude into T5 SP Cavia bounty at level 1 with level 1 exalted weapon and was just destroying everything with it. I did Combat Discipline with Arcane Avenger to boost up the Noctua's crit and was amazed how strong it is, and how easy it is to charge up the secondary shot. Combat Discipline seems to proc off of Overguard as well unless I was seeing things. Crazy how they keep making these frames so unique from each other and still so strong

I knew I was going to love him as soon as I heard about him and he does not disappoint. I really like his kit so I'm going to do everything I can to make his 1 as viable as possible and by extension his 4 book summon.
I put two tau topaz shards and viral/heat on the book with arcane velocity, incredibly fun deleting entire crowds with slash proc spells

I just got my first Arcane Energize last night when I dissolved some Arcanes that I was never gonna use. I was blown away. 1 down, 20 to go. 😂

Hey Great video like Always, you're THE BEST, but noctua actually uses the same arcane that's equipped on your secondary so It's quite good even for DPS theoretically

Alternatively, you can run archon continuity and throw toxin on noctua for stacking pseudo-armor strip. Frees up helminth for anything else and doesnt unnecessarily utilize mod slots. Makes the summoned copy of noctua useful for those acolytes and eximus.
I found anything beyond 50-60m for final verse-tradegy in steel path to be kind of redundant, especially at the cost of 60% strength.
Don't forget the birds make enemies more "status vulnerable", they don't take more damage from status procs or anything like that but you get more status procs when you shoot them.
The book copy helps with status spread if you have statuses on your book
Side note for dps Noctua, if your secondary weapon (like the furis in the video) has Secondary Outburst equipped, swapping to Noctua can proc that. Unfortunately I only have an unranked Secondary Outburst and don't have the Ceramic Dagger incarnon so I can't test to see how much (if at all) the Noctua is affected by it. Hopefully it is so I can use the same weapon loadout as my Mesa will have eventually.
Haven't seen Dante, Dagath, or Qorvex in the Shard Preference sheet yet, when are you adding them? Also will it change for the Hydroid and Inaros reworks?
I was able to buy him yesterday with a 75% discount as soon as I logged in lol
I ran the numbers on precision vs umbral(for 334 specifically), they seem effectively the same, (5~15%) leaning umbral, so its like more 2 cap* vs more bird stats but while testing i found a bug/unnoted mechanic with his 224, the 4 overguard burst will apply precision strength to the cap despite only his 2 having the cap listed, could see it intended either way.
If my numbers are off i didn't bother with the slash procs' damage and just used the arsenal numbers i don't think it would affect the ratio but i could be wrong
Couple questions.. do stat sticks help at all? what about putting Cascadia flare on the secondary would that carry over to his 1? viral is nice would love to see the difference with a pet that can prime since his 4 instantly procs all status effects? I do think that after you cast your 3+3 you want to do your 4 quickly as slash only lasts what 6 seconds and the damage falls off?
You only need to hit 1 enemy with your alt fire to refresh all the stacks of all your invocations. It's definitely worth trying to shoot it at 1 enemy every 20 seconds for perma regen and 60% strength duration efficiency

5:25 Shooting rate + high crit (reds) is quite strong on the exalted. Slash from red crits is pretty damn strong.

Looks like it’s actually the oni prime ephemera from the Grendel prime accessories. It’ll probably be a bit before that comes back around.
So, Arcane Overcharge (The crit one from the melee combo) & Cascadia Flare DO work on Noctua if you have those arcanes on your secondary.
Is this an ephemera that you are using to project those shoulder effects? Ive seen it around and was curious its source.

Umbra intensify might be better because it applies to the 3’s damage and the 4’s damage. Like double dipping.
One thing I noticed about Dark Verse (his 3) is that while it can damage boxes through walls, it needs line of sight to damage and slash enemies. Tragedy (4 with two Dark Verses) does not have line of sight. I feel like that keeps him somewhat balanced and out of reach of the nerf hammer

You need to try noctua with archon continuity. Just with accelerated and the toxin 60% it handles itself pretty well. That's including xata and jahu.

This build is honestly over kill at time, especially with having all 4 Invocations active at pretty much all times. However i will say that Dante does need armor stripping after running some Grineer, Corrupted, and Sanctum Anatomica. Also, i have no clue if its a bug or just super inconsistent, but ive noticed that his Dark Verse needs LoS sometimes? Even in the Simulacrum, when i accidentally fall off a ledge just a meter off, his Dark Verse no longer targets enemies i cant directly see. But when i cast DV behind a wall, suddenly i still target enemies. Kinda frustrating, but he still nukes so much that i dont mind. When i have the chance imma umbra forma him for Umbra Intensify and put tau casting speed, tau corrosive, and 3 tau duration shards.
Save the forma! His 2 actually procs Archon Intensify, so you can get more power strength out of him!

So, since Dante can kill most enemies weak to status without any issue, do you have any recommendations for a weapon that would be good at dealing with status resistant enemies?
usually the ultra powerful nuke frames suffer from success in survival missions, especially if you camp in one place and don't move around for air support drops.
Do these builds still work after the nerf?
Personally haven't had this much fun with a Warframe on release since Harrow tbh. I do expect nerfs however but for the meantime I'm enjoying everything he's bringing to the table. Definitely on my top 3

I wouldn't recommend building Noctua for damage because its utility is just unreal. You might want to check yourself on not using it for lackluster damage. It easily keeps pace with all the top end weapons except maybe the best incarnons.
I think he’d be great with Unairu and just keep Noctua. The Noctua utility seems fun, so far I’ve mostly seen people spec it for DPS.
IMO the utility is better. I modded for firerate, gas, and electric with 3 of the ability mods (duration, strength, energy) and its amazing. Its not great as a DPS weapon, but Dante's 4 (2 dark pages) benefits from ALL damage overtime effects, including gas, electric, slash. Topped with a status proccing pet of some kind like the Panzer... its pretty nasty.

Will there be a build refresh for nezha now that the augment is out? I know most player will still prefer the umbra nezha but i still want to see what build you will do with that augment

It's far from optimal, but I've been having fun with Dante with Wrathful Advance.
I am a muscle wizard, I cast fist.
I use steadfast for mag and xaku instead of other recommendations for arcanes because it 3 free abilities can get pretty insane
I just got everything I need to build him in less than 45 minutes of SP Disruption, playing solo with Mesa. He is incredibly easy to get.
What's causing the small blue floating orb circling him? Easy to see near the beginning of the video. It's not an ephemera, because he has on Grendel's ephemera.

All these newer Warframe with immensely powerful team supporting abilities make me feel bad for my man, Oberon. Come on DE, help a goat out. That being said, I absolutely look forward to trying Dante out.
can he manage Energy without any arcanes/tome buffs? i won't get nourish in less than a week so i was wondering what to do
Energy Nexus/Equilibrium plus Flow does most of it. Add a streamline if you don't have Energize or Steadfast. As long as you're not using Blind Rage, you should be golden to spam away

I don't agree with the sentiment around Noctua, I think it can be a really good weapon, but to each their own. If you want to make it an utility-bot, so be it. I don't agree with the subsume part, though. Nourish is nice for energy, but he shouldn't need it; and regarding Armour strip, he doesn't need it. His damage comes from Slash procs.

it seems the patch tweaked a bit combat situations so effect multiple mission types and the acolytes as well.
that is what i seen from running some missions both normal and steel path with few setups.
I know that we have frames that are practically tailor-made to be very good at killing Corpus, like Saryn. But I just do not like that his ability does slash and only slash with no way to modify its damage type.
I hope he gets an augment in the future that makes him better at killing Corpus (with his abilities). I know guns exist, but his kit gives nothing interesting to me as a weapons platform.
Any frame with an exalted (Mesa, Excal, Baruuk) can mod their ability for toxin. Lavos can choose his elements. Voruna and Citrine do rainbow statuses. They're flexible, ya kno?
I have kind of the same problem with Styanax. Come to think of it, Dante and Styanax are really similar...both do wide-spread, slash-focused DPS and give large amounts of overguard to the team. And they both float.
I suppose I should note that I haven't gotten hands on with him yet, so I'm just speculating at this point.

I don't know how I feel about steadfast. I get the idea but I feel like energize will just always beat it out. (assuming both are maxed of course). 20% chance just isn't enough.

You literally CANNOT die with this character. He's sitting comfortably at the front of S tier
the only thing that bothers me with the Grimoire and Noctua is that they only really do damage on headshots and DE has for some reason decided that a spell book should have recoil... as if its not challenging enough to get headshots with slow projectiles; and in the case of the Grimoire, doing that with a very obstructive reticule alongside the insane recoil. They should be like the Plinx and not have any recoil.

idk if anyone else has this problem with Dante but when i use dark verse and tragedy in the new disruption it seems that it does close to no damage and yet i have almost 200% power strength. This only happens in this mission bc I tried this in kuva fortress andi was does well.
