A lot of people being confused with is250 gearbox, thinking that if upshift with paddle shift it should immediately shift up. It will not. Basically, you just tell car that it will be able to upshift when it wants too to go to higher gear. Mainly it just guideline for ECU, but if you want it to listen, you have to play with pedals for it to listen on what you want to do.
@@Thegooob95 rev match whenever you downshift hit the pedal one more time after one second that way you match the Rpms. It could be quicker depending on the condition of your transmission(drain and fill fluid services), but also remember it’s not gonna be as perfect as for example ISF more responsive because these transmissions have lag naturally.
@@anthonybelton-ford3124 it depends honestly I have a 2010 250 an when I’m on its ass going from like 4-5 for example it’ll take it a sec to change over to the 5th gear when in high rpm
@@cliffordnyathi6539 This particular Lexus gets downed a lot because of it's big brother the IS350 but it's V6 is still not slow and is very quiet like a big car would be with a V8. There's even room to add a turbo.
@@cliffordnyathi6539 The reliability is excellent because its a toyota its in the same family so the lexus can put on alot of miles and maintenance wise you aint paying a lot if you taking care of it.

awsome!, my 02 is300 has manual mode and it’s a very complex system, can’t go into first, won’t downshift if computer senses overrev it will upshift on its own if it senses it’s about to hit rev limit, you can trick it tho, it’s pretty cool for what it is no doubt!

@@kapibara3344 fajne auto wygodne . Ale pamiętaj ze średnio te 10.5 -11.5 litrow na 100 km trzeba liczyć. Na trasie pali malutko jak na 2.5 benzynę ale w mieście to wygłuszenie trzeba jakoś rozbujać 😃

I own probably the nicest NZ New IS350 Luxury around, absolutely mint and faultless.My 2 cents worth, I sell Toyotas, I have also driven plenty of later model 8 speeders...same performance on par ie. 5.6 0-100 and mid 13s...however I find the 6 speed, especially on kick down, far more satisfying! These are fantastics cars. Just buy one.🤔

@@issasultan2896 that is not true because the 2007 Lexus 2is is350 6speed auto has a shorter gear ratio og 4.06 which makes it aggressive shifting in the beginning

power steering will work if the car is turned on. When the car is turned off but has the ignition on the steering wheel is extremely heavy

You gotta turn off traction control on Lexus/Toyota to get the most performance.
The auto is250 is nice for comfort, the manual is a lot quicker but not as refined or comfortable

Biggest issue with Lexus trans is that it’s in consistent. One minute it shifts like a zf 8 speed another minute it’s laggy and inconsistent.

Also manual mode or sports mode stays auto until you shift then it’s manual
Transmission is really slow, that one thing you have to accept driving the IS, unless you have the IS F.

What if you were to use the 6th gear constantly using the highway? What would your average L/Km be?
On a flat highway my 05 IS350 gets about 10-12L/100km
IS250 at 140 km/h between 6.8 to 7.5 L @ 180 km/h between 8.5 and 10 L. Depends on how aggressive you take over and how often you have to brake.
