i had this for 12 months. it was a result of undiagnosed back pain. x ray and ultrasound on the feet will show up as normal. when these tests show up as normal, doctors will stop believing you and think you are malingering. so it's important to address the back pain if you have one. on the other hand, achilles tendinitis can happen on it's own through heavy duty work. but it will heal up within 2-3 months. any longer than that should tell you there is something else making it look like it is achilles tendinitis, but it's really not the case, more like a unresolved back pain (s1 nerve root compression due to spine issue)
My Achilles discomfort on my right leg is at the point where the tendon attaches to the top of the heel bone (calcaneus), not in the medial portion of the tendon. The exercise that was recommended for me was to stand on the toes of the affected foot for various times over a 5-week period. I've been in to this for a week now and seem to be showing improvement/reduced pain. EDIT: So far it seems to have worked. Swelling is down, pain is down, mobility recovered.
@@Priyan0000 Since I don’t know exactly what you’re suffering (although I know it’s related to your Achilles), I’d recommend going to a physical therapist. They can really give you the best treatment, whereas I’m just guessing. Don’t bother with a doc…they’ll just tell you to see a PT. And, no…I’m not completely over it, BUT it is 90% better. I don’t think it will ever go away completely.
I’ve done physical therapy twice, steroid injections, cupping, dry needling, massage of the hips and hamstrings and immobilized the foot and ankle with a boot and it’s still hard to walk! I’m scared it won’t heal! It’s been over a year like this 😢
This is a living Hell.. I have had this for one year. Tried stretching, makes it flare up... tried the boot for a month.. did nothing....time to cut my foot off. I think I caused it by walking uphill on the treadmill for 90 minutes 4 days a week. I had to stop walking as it causes a flare up each time. But stretching seems to make everything worse. Pointing my toes up actually makes the tendon less painful... pointing DOWN makes it more tender and painful... the opposite as to what was said in video.
I have this.. it hurts when I walk to take my child to school that’s how I developed thendonitis for walking fast suddenly, plus I’m overweight now and I think make things worse. I havent been able to heal cause I’m always on the move. I also noticed my shoe size changed from 39 to 40. It has been more than a year with this 😭
Remember that this is not supposed to stand alone. The research in this field clearly indicates that training is the one thing that can help. Whether it’s heavy slow resistance training or eccentric training is highly dependent on the patient.
Several years ago I gracefully fractured both of my ankles at work and they never healed properly. Over the years the muscles and tendons have gotten so weak that my ankles were twisting on flat surfaces so I now wear ankle braces on both ankles. About 4 years ago a friend of mine who’s an orthopedic surgeon said that I had tendinitis in my right ankle, on the side where the round bone is. The other night I had no issues walking, got home, changed, laid down....and it felt like the Achilles’ tendon got pinched between bones (which is the best way to explain how it felt). A few minutes later my ankle became immobile and painful, and it hurt to stand so now I limp. This painful pinching feeling has happened 3 times now when I’m laying down, and the pain not only effects the side of my right ankle but the middle toe as well. Resting my ankle seems to be doing it harm. I’m thinking the Achilles’ tendon has tendinitis but wasn’t sure if it even existed...but now I know it does. It feels like a sprain, but since my ankle braces don’t allow my ankles to turn (thank goodness) and these painful episodes take place when my leg is on the bed (because I’m laying down) I’m thinking about getting a corset style lace up brace (which is an annoying style brace to get on off, but will probably work the best) to wear while I’m laying down.
Sounds awful. I broke one ankle a year ago and it is nowhere nwar normal but both ankles, oh my goodness. I suppose you have tried everything but I wondered if you had considered walking and doing calf raises, stretches in a pool. My local swimming pool has a hydrotherapy pool and I find it quite helpful.
Okay 3 days ago I I don't know why but I started feeling pain in my ankle after I run for like 2 minutes and it goes away after 30 minutes. So now whenever I run, the pain comes back.
I'm 13 and mines hurt but not when I move my foot it only hurts whenni touch them or if i get out the bed in the morning I'll feel it at 1 time my ankles were hurting but I put on a foot brace and they were better a day later these were hurting
