This is such a hot topic when people find out we home school. So I wanted to share our experience of homeschooling in a remote area so those thinking of doing the same can hear from someone living it what it’s really like. The truth about homeschooling in a remote area. Check out my Instagram where I talk a lot about homeschooling and share our lives here in the Highlands in real time ❤️ instagram.com/the_highland_life_for_us?igsh=ODM4cmUyZTQwdXls& Thank you for watching ❤️
This was so interesting thank you. I had a few months off work during lockdown and was fortunate to live in a remote part of Dartmoor, we fell in love with nature and loved that way of life. My dream is to move to the Highlands for a year and to home educate, just not sure how it will work ❤
Iam so pleased you found the video interesting. Home ed in itself is always an interest topic then throw in doing it in the Highlands! 🤣 If you love nature the Highlands is the place to be for sure! 😍
Hello, I'm home schooling my daughter. We are in the eastcoat Highlands, it's been a struggle at first. Have meet a few who have homeschooled there children with great experience and success. Still learning myself
Aw hey there 👋 We do feel lucky everyday for sure. Also bought Iam sure where you live too is beautiful. We hope to explore more of the US in the coming years x
I was looking forward to this one. Got you on now while i do dinner . Went to see banshee of inisherin last night so convinced i want to live remotely now so this is nicely timed x from Victoria x ps i think a lot of home edders cut a lot out after not missing it during lockdown x
"Remote Area" is relative to the UK, especially from an English perspective. All of Caithness and North-East Sutherland are within 45 minutes of a Tesco supermarket and are not like being in the outback of Australia, the Alaskan wilderness, much of Russia or Norway/Sweden/Finland.
I agree, although I don’t find where I live remote everyone who has been here says it is. I have also seen people describe their cottage as ‘remote’ when they are 25 mins from Carlisle city so I guess it’s all relative to what people believe is remote. I had also asked this question ‘what do you class as remote?’ In my instagram and pretty much all of the answers would describe exactly where I live. I guess it depends on where you compare it too, compared to the Australia outback and many other places in the world, then no. But to suburban England, yes. I appreciate everyone’s perspective and Iam sure some terminology used some people wouldn’t find comparable but some would 🤷♀️

Great advice for anyone homeschooling that’s considering moving to a remote area. I’m tempted to relocate to the highlands too 😊
It’s definitely a different life and a different way to home ed but we love it!
