Is there even a point for nyc bike lanes to exist? I see cars there parked so often, it seems like these drivers are using it like a parking lot 😂😂😂 You even see entire bike lanes covered by them sometimes.
Also, who puts them next to where cars park? Do people not know that you need to open the doors to get in or out of them? They're designed to be dangerous lol
@@drewdailey8631 Facts! 💯 I hate when they get mad at you for that reason. They wanna act like we should stay in our place but they're not even willing to stay out of ours. So you can use the bike lane but cyclists are not allowed to use the drive way, even if bike lane is blocked by cars or a delivery truck? They sometimes even honk at you so aggressively for that nonsense. One time, this driver honked at me even though I was going more than 30 mph one time. Like, seriously? This isn't a high way, you should not even be going faster than me in the first place. I also hate the drivers that make a sharp turn without turning on their blinkers. A mistake like that can seriously end someone's life in an instant. These drivers do not care about human life, some of them should not even be allowed to drive anymore.
This is so cool. I don’t know what it is though. Seems so calm even with so many cars. My city is much smaller. But the drivers are so constantly angry.

hey Terry, just spent a month fixing up an old bike only to have it stolen last night. any tips on how to not just give up? or where to buy junk bikes? I can't afford a new one
I saw a RUclips video about wheel weight and whether heavier wheels were slower, and they showed that the weight of the wheel doesn’t matter for the very reason you stated. It’s slow to start but you roll longer so you get that energy you put into the wheel back. The key though is you can’t brake much. You lose all the energy you put into getting the wheel moving when you brake. Even going up hill the weight of the wheel doesn’t matter as much as you would expect, especially if you are going to be going downhill afterwards.
Hey Terry B. I bought my son a 6ku urban track because we already have bikes and I didn’t want to spend a ton on something he might not like. Do you or anyone on here have any suggestions on decently priced upgrades, in case he does like riding a fixed gear? Things like a better chainring, crank, brakes, etc. unfortunately, I’m no bike expert.
Every upgrade depends on what the bike already has, but for starters, invest in a good chain, any wide KMC is good enough, foot retention, depends on the preference, wether your son wants cages, straps, or clipless. Check out Zach Gallardo here on RUclips, the dude makes a ton of videos on that topic
@@tintorras01 Awesome, thanks! I think I'll invest in those two, the chain and perhaps straps. I think I'm just paranoid that this bike was so cheap, that in my mind something's gonna fail after a week.
@@exquizit_d Well i have a US $250ish fixed gear and it's the most reliable bike I've had, not because of the parts but because of how much I look after it. keep it clean, bolts tight but not overtorqued, grease were it requires, tyres well inflated to avoid flats, chain lubricated and nicely tensioned to avoid dropping it, and it will be a good if not better ride
