    You should REALLY specify since this is an artificial limit, it can be easily bypassed. Or save some future headaches and just switch to linux.

    • @adriancoanda9227
      @adriancoanda9227 8 месяцев назад

      even Linux has a minimum hardware requirement and on Linux can't be bypassed (well as long as you don't create your own image with a older Kernel version) the limitation is for upgrade installs anyway and they inform about that limit due to the user experience. even windows 10 latest image runs like hell on older systems. y could get win 11 on a old dual core (clean install) for example a 14th gen i3 will run cycles around a 8th gen i7 people don't understand that they still can use the us asl long as they want no one can force you to switch to new os if you don't use the new features but is a security risk mostly if you don't have a hardware firewall that has the newest security features, but it is about browser updates because no one will develop software for those old Oses that is about

    Video lacks research. Microsoft also imposes an AMD processor requirement for Windows 11.
    That is the second generation Ryzen, anything older is unsupported by Windows 11. It is a fact that Microsoft is stricter with AMD compared to Intel.

    • @bearded365guy
      @bearded365guy  8 месяцев назад

      Not sure I agree. We are an IT company who support over 3000 endpoints.
      95% of these are Intel Core. As I said in the video, Intel Core will be the dominating force in businesses.

    • @ak49
      @ak49 8 месяцев назад +5

      @@bearded365guy But it is true that it affects AMD as well. Also, I wouldn't recommend just buying a new computer as suggested. Maybe replacing the cpu (if it's possible), bypassing the TPM requirements or switching to Linux should be viable options.
      We can't just accept turning functional hardware into e-wast just because Microsoft say so.

    • @bearded365guy
      @bearded365guy  8 месяцев назад

      I completely understand your point. But I doubt that will happen. How much is a new CPU and installing it into a computer that could be 6/7 years old? Not many people would do that…. Unfortunately

    • @ak49
      @ak49 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@bearded365guy what's even your point? How much is a whole new computer?
      In my specific case I'm on a 6th gen with LGA 1151, I'd only have to buy an 8th gen CPU (around €200 brand-new in my market), or straight replace both CPU and motherboard with current hardware, also €200. Still, none of these apply to me because I left Windows long ago.
      Do you see my point?

    I don't know why people are surprised or caught off guard over this. Windows versions having a 10 year life span isn't something new. They been doing that since Windows XP. The hardware restrictions are so easily bypassed it doesn't even matter. The hardware restrictions are only within the installer, not the OS it's self.

      The support is ending too soon, 68% of computers still use windows 10 only 1 year and 10 months before the end of support. At the worst we could see more than 50% of computers being left without security updates. Windows 11 also requirements are also pretty strict. The support should end closer to 2027-2029, just like windows xp.

    I own only one device that "supports" (and runs) Windows 11 without any trickery. Most of the others can be "tricked" into to doing so, and YT has plenty of videos to show me how to trick them into running it, so I'm not too worried. There also is the Linux option, which works on all of them, except for my Pentium 4, which will remain offline and stuck in the past, running Windows XP for the remainder of its life as my retro gamer. Sure, there are some 32 bit distros of Linux it could run, but that would defeat the whole purpose of using it for older Windows games.

    • @adriancoanda9227
      @adriancoanda9227 8 месяцев назад

      that is still existing on pro and enterprise it is useful if you want to import data from olde backups (big companies still uses that) some old cpl panels can still be accessed by run commands for example the old add remove software appwiz.cpl it might not be displayed via graphical GUI interface in classic control panel. but versions after KB5013438 the software will have trouble to recover old backups. in the 23h1 w11 uses OneDrive as storage to backup it has a new backup app which is much convenient since it is in the cloud linked to your one drive account

    If a group of companies that write software would not upgrade their software to windows 11 or new companies that of course would have to be looking out for the small guy and not so much profits would continue to write software for Windows 10 then Windows 11 would effectively from my perspective be put out of business. Have to countries where they make 600 dollars a month write the new software - some are very well trained in these countries - they just have to be given the chance.

    Microsoft did say windows 10 was going to be the last version (they tell lies). Windows 10 works ok. Windows 11, most people would not even notice the difference (apart from having a lighter bank balance). The old hardware what a waste of time, effort of world resources, just to scrap it? Cannot see the point in having Windows 11. I am sticking with Windows 10, Until I find an alternative. Windows 11 doesn't currently meet the minimum system requirements to run on my PC.

    Windows 10 ain't going anywhere cause it's way to popular. If they included an option for users to round the corners windows 10 would become even more popular. It's a shame that windows users don't get the option of rounded or squared corners in both windows 10 and windows 11.
