I've said many many times i dont think moreno is a great fit for pope. But after hearing what pope had to say to him and the kid wanting that challenge he is exactly what u want. This isn't a kid thats looking to hang out for a few months and go pro. This kid wants to get better. He wants Ky across his chest. This is the type of kid Ky thrives with. Anytime we've ever won titles we've had those types of kids. I love the fact the kid wants the challenge of getting better.

Wait, forever? This is more of a continuation than a shift imo. Before sheppard and Perry, there was Darius miller, Dominique Hawkins and Derek Willis, so it’s been a pretty steady stream of homegrown, strong role players at least.
Big difference in those kids and moreno and johnson both being at the top of their positions in the country. Miller was great at uk, but wasn't a top player in the nation. Even Reed being a 4star. Reed was obviously underrated out of HS. Idk moreno is a great fit today but being the #1 C is big. With the pitch pope gave him and the kid being honest enough with himself knowing he can improve is huge. A kid with talent and a chip on their shoulder is dangerous.
