@@COLTSWAY I finally got time to try this. Unfortunately, I’m not detecting any power. It works when plugged into a battery so that tells me it’s the Ford plug. Any ideas?
You checking it with the door open? And it has to be open for just a little bit or it looses power if opened to long. If not, it’s got to be the fuse. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY I was attempting to use these 1/2” plastic connectors that have a round metal insert inside. It only worked when I directly connected both wires and used electrical tape. No one will see that anyway. THE LIGHTS ARE AWESOME!! Thanks again for a great video.

Got mine yesterday. I added quarter inch rubber grommets and had to use two on each hole. Trimmed one side of each grommet so they would meet in the middle. Thanks for your video. I had not seen this mod before.

Nice job Man! BTW, the plugs are for the power step rails if you chose that option. Also, when you cut the light strip tape, use the end cap from the end that you cut off to cap your strip. Colt's way is cool man!

I have power steps on my truck and I have this plug and is not used the power is connected toward the front

Important note ........
The plug you buy from Amazon says, on the package, that the white wire is positive. In this application, the white wire is negative. Spent an hour trying to figure why my lights did not work.
Also, In order to fit into the factory plug, you'll need to slightly shave each side of the Amazon plug.
I did like Colt's video except for his reference to Putin's house boy.
Thank you so much for the tutorial on the running board lights. I ran out to take a look under my ‘15 SD and sure enough there were the plug ins! Took me all of a 1/2 hr to hook them up and they work great. Thanks for the tips and links. You ROCK!!

Thanks for video. I have these on a 2013 F150 but had to do a lot more to get the lights to work with the doors. I have a 2020 F250 that I'm doing as soon as the Metra Harnesses come in. By the way the plug that you're plugging into can be moved up a little higher unpinning it from the frame about six inches back. Thanks brother and keep em coming.

Been a subscriber from the start. Last night at 2am I was finally installing my Amp steps on my 6.7 18 XLT CCLB Peasant Edition. Was looking up something for the install and this video popped up and glad I watched! I'm not even installing the little lights that came with the kit. Good find. For guys that don’t have the led bed lights from the factory that would be a great place to tap in for the power. I do have the bed lights but wish they turned on with the door open/unlock lighting since I have a tonneau cover and can’t see shit at night lol.👍🏼

@@COLTSWAY Okay, I checked the area on my F450 where you put your strip lights, unfortunately there is a rubber strip there on my King Ranch 450. I guess for further sound insulation. Darn it, I like the more light output from your strips versus my mirror puddle lights. I was hoping I could do both.

My 2018 F-150 XL does not have the connector under the cab on the frame. I guess I need to figure out another way to connect to the courtesy lights.

Yes door lights or tail lights. What we lug he s come on when you open door or unlock with clicker. You can tap into those lights.

Are those the stock rims? Looks like the stock rims i have on my 2019. Just wondering what size tires your running? Any lift? And any rubbing?
Hey brother, yes they are the stock lariat sport wheels. I’m running 37x13.50x20. They rub the radius arms at about 90 percent turn. But it’s never made it where I can get into a spot or anything. If I gotta turn sharp, I just let it eat. I was running 2.5 readylift with track bar relocation bracket for the last year and a half. Then after I put my winch and bumper on I added another 1 inch spacer on the bottom of my springs cause the bumper and winch sagged it a little. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. PS....looks like your an electrician, like me, by the tools you used. You could put a piece of Reychem over that first connection and seal both those wires. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!
