I continue to be amazed by guys building large projects in a small space... Stay creative! Regarding thickened epoxy: You may want to check into System Three's GelMagic as it's already thick, you simply mix it 2:1 and go. Skip the pre-wet step, just make sure the joint is clean and apply. Looking forward to the progress! 5 more months (?) and I can drop mine in the river again...
I agree. If I were to do this project over, I would use the shaper for the first 1/4” deep cut. And then use a router with a guide bit to complete the cut. But I am now all done cutting the sheer clamp components.
Could you do the second and third pass faster with a normal router and a bearing bit to follow the shape cut on the first pass? I’ve watched your build and both of Dan’s builds and it is great to see that this build is possible for us non professionals- at least the ones who have a very large garage.🙂
Mike - Thanks for watching. You are right. If I were to start over, I would cut the first 1/4” deep with the shaper and then use a guide router bit for the rest. It is a super challenging project, but fun for me to see and learn the different technique of a professional with the proper tools (Dan), and a novice with borrowed tools (me). I have seen Dan’s build… it is way nicer than mine. But I plan to finish strong.
Nice planer Bob, that will be a god send having that tool!
Thanks Dan. The shop vacuum needs upgrading.
Has to feel good to make that kind of progress
Thanks Mark. It does. It has been a long time coming.
Lots of work…. But Also fun to be on the tip of the spear with Dan.

Thanks for watching Ted. I will check out System Three.
The tech you’re using to do those cuts is amazing.
Thanks Phil. If you ever want to try it out, let me know. Cool tool for creative design. You can borrow my Shaper anytime.
You're a brave man, with an understanding wife!
Boat building in the house may explain why I am divorced 🤣
I agree that it was not my best idea, but with care, it worked out…
Nice job!
Thanks. And thanks for watching.

Gosh Americans are hilarious! Let’s convert something as simple as 44mm into 14/8 of an inch!
It's true, sometimes we do things the hard way... 🤷♂️
@@Polymerman lol
What does your wife think about you building boats in the living room?🧹🪛🔩⚙🔨🪓🔧🪚⛑⚓🙄😎
I am divorced… and maybe boatbuidling in my living room is part of the reason 🤣
