Great round up of progress so far, anyone can see how much work you have both done, debt free is the best and only way to go, do you have an amazon wish list? Good luck and I hope your winter is not too harsh for you all
Thank you so much 😊🤩 no we don’t have a Amazon wish list actually we just found out that it existed from your comment 😅 maybe we should look into that 😊 Today the temp was -7 so cold but as long as you keep working you keep warm 😊😅 Thank you debt free is definitely the way to go 🤩😊
Приветствую экипаж! Прогресс впечатляет! У меня вопрос- какое парусное оснащение планируете на вашем судне?И ещё вопрос - при перепланировке может кухню перенести на верх в пилот хаус?PS:не останавливаться ,так держать!!!
Greetings 😊 We have thought about putting the kitchen up there but we would like to be able to look out the windows while sitting at the table. And we need to sit 8 people and then there is no room. When you say sailing equipment do mean mast and sails or electronics? Thank you😊👍🤩 we’ll never stop 💪😄
Haha true 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 originally ketch rigged but has been reduced to one mast but we want to go back to ketch when we find the money for new masts 😅 we think this will make the sails more manageable. The insulation in the workshop is almost completed today so we are moving along 😊
congrats .good lifestyle idea and personally ,for a family , a metal boat with pilot house, is preferable to many other options. keep some metal sheets as used ,welding machine and anti rust material on board for maintenance on the go .do diligent research on proper ,very efficient insulation ! have not seen mast ,hence question arises ,if a well done tabernacle mast figuration is possible for you ? that would offer you many more sailing options, destinations and more safe anchorage !
We agree 💯 that’s why we fell for Carla 😊 in the beginning we didn’t really know what we where looking for but when we found her it was a perfect match 😊 we will have a ready supply of equipment og spares for maintenance on the go 😊👍 Insulation wise we haven’t decided yet but we are researching we need approx 70 sq meters or 750 sq ft. So it will be a balancing act between price and efficiency. Funny you mention the tabernacle mast figuration we have thought of that but haven’t really found a solution that fits the boat we are probably going to go with a standard ketch rig. Thank you very much for your comment and for watching it means a lot 😊🤩
@@SYCarla needs proper research : from your comment ,I assume you have no rig yet for your heavy metal boat . What about welded ,extra strong ,extra high ,above pilot house , tabernacle , A deck stepped mast fitted into it .Mast snuggly enclosed by tabernacle with several holding points . Extra long boom for heavy metal boat , having a boom rest at stern ,that is strong enough for dinghy davids and extended cockpit cover ( once enough money ,using bi- solar panels ) . Pivot point of mast at height ,that mast can easily be lowered to boom rest and put up again . What I would prefer ,but have not seen ( needs proper research ) is to have the boom hanging directly from extra strong tabernacle ,pivot point above . That configuration would allow easy lowering of mast onto the boom and sail and easy aligning up again . Very good to access rivers ,canals ,lake systems and more safe harbor points from heavy seas and easy emergency mast set up ,but not having seen such configuration ,it needs research .can a pivot point above boom ,be made strong enough ?
I’m not sure about the pivot point above the boom as far as I can see most boats have the pivot point below the boom. But you’re absolutely right having the boom pivot point above the boom it would clear the pilothouse and rest in a boom rest in the back. We sure would need a massive winch or some kind of hydraulic to raise it though our mast is 16 meters tall. You definitely gave us a lot to think about we have talked about it a lot since your comment 😅 we’ll have to se what the future brings 😊👍
@@SYCarla days ago I asked a professional rigger ,pleasant fellow with RUclips channel ‘rigging doctor’,live aboard with his family ,if he could make episodes on uncommon mast configurations ,esp.unstayed mast and tabernacle .asked from the point of view of refitting a hull/salvaged/used boat ,pros and cons and likely costs for specific refit. Explained pivot point above boom ,having boom and mast rest at stern and this configuration esp.for metal boats ,since tabernacle could be welded extra strong and high ,potentially having boom hang directly from tabernacle ,instead of ,as usual ,from mast . That would enable easier and faster lowering and realigning of mast ,likely even safer . I prefer that not only for more cruising grounds and additional harbors ,but as well for quickly lowering mast at anchor in certain storm situations and of course easy emergency mast options . Do not know ,ifhewill make episodes on that and they might be anyhow to late for your decisions ,but you could just write to him ,from family cruiser to family cruiser .it needs research ,iam not a professional in that field ,but other than adding tabernacle weight at a good location ,I do not see heavy downsides . Lowering and realigning mast with lines through bow (anchor ) roller, that should be strong enough and provide wider angle .
@@SYCarla extra ps . Another reason why I think of the unusual placement of the boom attached to the welded extra strong and high tabernacle ,together with an extra strong boom and mast rest ,bonded together with dinghydavids and ( future bi-solar cockpit cover ) is the strengthening of function by boom fixed on boom rest and tabernacle for lowering and re-aligning the mast .boom and mast rest bonded with dinghydavids strong enough for hammock use ,a wonderful addition for longterm cruisers, liveaboard . Since I share unusual systems ,all needing proper research ,I add a hinged swimming platform ,without hindering the use of a hydrovane . May you find whatever is best and safe for you
That really would be nice but no they are labelled correctly 😅🤣 hopefully one day when we get the boat rebuilt we can change out the labels 😅🤣 thank you very much for watching 😊👍
live the dream, keep up the excellent work that you are doing on this restoration.
Thank you so much it really means a lot 😊 👍
Looks great. Have fun building her back to glory
Thank you very much and thanks for watching 😊👍
Great video, very hard work and I guess a lot of money, keep up the great effort. Congratulations
Thank you very much 😊👍 yes it does take a lot of work and money but slow and steady will win the race 😊
Thanks for watching 😊👍
WoW! Good progress!!!

@ definately, have a look, you would be surprised how people back projects like yours, -5 here in uk the past few days, not liking it :-)
You’re probably right we better have a look 😊🤩
We’re finally above freezing so it’s better weather to work on the boat again 😊👍
👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks 🤩

Surely the before and after pictures are wrongly labelled? Or is it reverse engineering?!

Určitě!!!! Pozdravujte toho pošuka z Prague Boats 😂😂😅 at pozdravuje Mulače a měšťáky… magor jeden vydlabanej…
I don’t know if you are writing in an (to google) unknown dialect but the translation makes no sense 😅🤣
I wish you a good year in 2025 greet from Holland.
Thank you so much and to you too Ronald 😊 greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
Inspired by Nauticat 44 profile design.
You are absolutely correct 🤩 the top side is modelled after the Nauticat 44 and the hull is a spray.
Tank you for watching 😊👍
