He’s actually THE best defensive guard statistically. He’s obviously not a Jrue Holiday level defender, but he’s been improving tremendously as a defender.
@@duffal0 He’s not the best in the advanced analytics but still very solid it’s his steals and blocks you are referencing and that’s nice but he’s like maybe the 25-30th best defender in the league there a lot of great defenders. That’s good enough though and he will keep getting better I have him number 1 on my list for 2028
@@bkelly625 yup. He leads the league in stocks, and leads guards in spg, and total blocks. He’s a very solid defender and improved a lot on that end this year. He’s still so slept on. He’ll be an all time great one day imo.
He's also one of the best offensive players, period. He arguably had a top five season THIS YEAR.

I’m really not honestly. I like Scoot but I genuinely don’t think he’ll be the superstar player everyone expects him to be. Some NBA scouts I’m friends with say the same thing. He’s small, a horrible shooter, and struggles to play great defense.
@@duffal0a horrible shooter? He shot better from range than Luka, Giddy, or lamelo did during their pre nba pro basketball careers. He’s 6’2 but has a 6’9 wingspan. That’s better than some 6’3-6’4 guards. You either don’t have the friends you claim to have, they’re lying to you, or they’re bad at their jobs. Lamelo is a great nba player and Scoot’s shooting numbers are several % points higher. Even if he doesn’t develop into an upper echelon player, his intangibles will allow him to stay in the league as a diet Westbrook or as a top sixth man
@@michaelsoper98 that’s exactly what I think he will be. A diet Westbrook. I expect him to be a very solid NBA player who makes a few all star teams, but not a superstar or anything.

Jalen Williams needs to be an honorable mention at minimum. He is already a better all around player than Giddey and has outplayed Paolo for months now. Since December 19th(49 games)- 15.9ppg 5.2reb 3.6ast 1.8stl .5blk 1.7TO on 52.3/39.3/83.9 splits and +97. Paolo since December 19th(48 games)- 18.9ppg 7reb 3.7ast .8stl .5blk 2.7TO on 41.6/28.9/72.3 splits and minus 125. And last 26 games J Dub- 18.6ppg 5.4reb 4.2ast 1.9stl 1.8TO on 54.6/44/89.4 splits and +31. And in 11 games without SGA- 21.5ppg 4.7reb 5.5ast 1.9stl 1.9TO on 54.8/38.7/79.2 and +45 and that included a 1pt 0-8 shooting game December 17th and those stats are still elite. He’s also 6’6 215lbs 7’2 wingspan and rare speed, athleticism and strength combo. Paolo has made 65 more shots this season but on 328 more attempts(19.8%) and J Dub is rated better in almost every analytic. He’s elite getting to and finishing at the rim and in transition he has 77 dunks this year Paolo has 52. His effective field goal percentage is 10.2% higher than Paolo that’s a lot and his archetype doesn’t really have a ceiling he can shoot, pass and defend on top of everything else I mentioned. If Paolo is on your list and Giddey and honorable mention J Dub should’ve been an honorable mention at minimum

If Giddy continues to develop his jump shot / 3-point shot, Giddy will be the better player and borderline all-star. He's also younger than J Dub, which is still crazy to me. I love this Thunder team and am high on both, but Giddy's God Level passing gives him the edge (if his shooting continues to develop)

@@cuylerjones Embiid is 7’1 280 and about to win MVP and Victor is a more fluid open court athlete than Embiid he will be fine he’s more graceful on the court than any of those other guys. He’s 7’5 but moves like he’s 6’9
@@bkelly625 mvp has nothing to do with health concerns, look at someone like David Robinson who was around embiid s build, he won an mvp and multiple scoring titles. Now look at someone like Yao Ming or manute bol (7”6 and 7”7 respectively) they both had short careers plagued with injuries and manute died an early death because of his size. I have no doubt wemby can be something special IF he can stay healthy
@@cuylerjones Yao Ming was not nimble and a fluid athlete like Wemby and weighed way more. Manute Bol was skinny as a rail and not as good on his feet as Wemby at all. Wemby has gained a good amount of muscle now too he will be fine he’s nothing like all those other guys that height
@@bkelly625 brother, anyone who is over 7”3 in nba history has either had a short career, or not been a good player. Injuries come with height, it doesn’t matter how nimble you are, Chet’s nimble and he tore his ACL before playing a single game. And victor not being big makes him more injury prone than anything. Another example is Kristaps missing over a year from his injury. I understand victor is generational and moves like a guard but injuries happen to anyone, and the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Sabonis should at least be a HM or top 15-20, he'll be 31 and I think his game ages pretty well while not having injury concerns

I think in 5 years we're going to be talking about the 2017 draft class being one of the best of all time with guys like donovan fox lauri tatum bam jarrett annunoby and the other good players like john collins malik monk luke kennard kuzma and lonzo if he stays healthy
I actually think Steph Curry should have been an honourable mention at least. He’ll be in his 18th or 19th year but it seems like he’s only getting in better shape and his shooting ability is not gonna go away. If he’s still in the league I think there’s a good chance he can stay on this list

I have a feeling Jokic at 13 and Giannis at 3 is going to age poorly. They're going to be about the same age. Jokic doesn't rely on his athleticism at all, but Giannis does. Jokic is arguably better than Giannis right now.
I still think you need to include more younger players with these. There's also no way in hell I'd put a 34-year-old Joel Embiid on this list. Dude is going to fall off hard in his 30s.
Cade will be a top 3 PG by 2028, can’t see him not being a top 20 player.

100%. He’d be head and shoulders the number 1 pick in 2024 draft and he’s got two guys from they draft in HM’s lol, and he’s totally clueless on Wagner. He thinks the high school guys who are popular on social and have dumb highlight videos, like Mikey Williams, are studs. Wagner has fallen way off and is barely top 15 of his own recruiting class now. Chet has always been an insane level prospect and was way higher than those guys in all classes and draft comparisons. That alone puts him above those honorable mentions. Chet would be top 20 with the guys he’s put on this list without a doubt

@@tylermontana7663 Don’t sleep he’s leading the 2nd youngest team in NBA history(behind themselves last season) to a decent record and may make the play in averaging a very efficient 31.4 per game and he is also is a very good defender and only 24. 1.6stl and 1 block a game is rare. And who wins championships? Not defenders as bad as Luka it doesn’t happen. The amount of growth SGA is showing should not be overlooked he’s already a top 10 player

You can't convince me both KD and Steph will regress so much over the next 5 years. Amongst all superstars currently (Maybe aside from Jokic) they're the two that relies on their athleticism the least. You can't convince me that Steph and KD's shooting will just regress to human-like. As long as Steph can still dribble into and make a contested 3 42% of the time and KD still shoots 60% on his pull-up middy's that literally only Russ can block their gonna be elite.

As a Shai fan, I’m happy with the 4th spot but I do feel he will be better than Tatum. He’s been on his level for 3 years now and this year he’s been better by a considerable margin while having far less NBA experience.

I think Wagner will be as a pure PG prospect. Will help his hype since he’ll be at Kentucky.
Wagner will not be and is not. SROS is a big 2K guy and RUclips hype video guy, Wagner has fallen off huge since he was touted as the next big thing since 8th grade. He’s still a top 15 recruit but he’s in any way some insane prospect that has the world on fire. Scoot and Chet, who both aren’t even HM, would be number 1 picks for that draft class by a million miles if they were prospects in it. The level of prospects they were and, for scoot are, leading into their pre draft year and draft year are 2 tiers higher than Wagner and Buzelis in their super weak class
