- This week we look at puppy killer Kritsti Noem, the societal reaction to protests, the pro-Israel response to protests, and why you should give people more time to text you back.

My grandmother used to always say, “that door knock and that phone ring, they are both invitations. You have every right to accept or decline at your leisure.” And I took that to heart. I don’t OWE you my time. Just bc I’m free doesn’t mean I’m free for YOU.
This is why I don’t answer my door if I don’t want to. People are always so confused by my decision.
Wise woman xx
I believe in your ability to make that tiny song one day.
Man, that "you're bad a texting" take. I used to be that guy that would get mad when people didn't respond according to my expectations. I really pushed potential friends/acquantances away with this behavior.
I've been through a lot of therapy since. I know I suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder now. I have an intense fear of abandonment because of childhood trauma. I still experience it but at least now I know better, I need to give people more time, give the silence more benefit of the doubt. It's hard but it has benefited me many times now.
Point being, you're totally in the right to deflect the criticism you received. The ones making these accusations, for all they know, might benefit from being more patient in that regard.
Keep up the solid work and takes man. Love your content.
I completely agree with your take on peoples Audacity to expect you to respond immediately x
That was a most unexpected GOOD take in the middle 😅
genuine surprise, a coherent and correct take from Dim Tool and Matt "fertile 16-year-olds" Walsh
Loving the Purple Rain shirt Austin!
I am autistic and I have ADHD. There are many reasons why I wont always be able to get back to someone immediately. I feel like demanding others like me to always respond immediately, is a tad ableist.
I will get back to people when I can. Or remember.
My BBF has other mental health issues. I usually text them in a way where they dont have to feel they HAVE to get back to me. They can take their time. I am also very good friends with their partner, so I can also reach out to them if I start to worry.
DV doesn't miss
Happy mustache. Looking good.
1:07:20 Speaking of interesting ways to think about time-travel, Hyperion is an excellent book that handles that topic with unhesitating poise.
I live with mh disorders, so i let everyone i know clearly that i have challenges with communication from time to time and unless it's an emergency i need lots of time to reply. If that doesn't work for them, they're welcome to leave this relationship. Solid boundaries are mandatory when living with chronic illness. It sets expectations and inoculates against guilt or shame. Embracing limitations ironically creates a lot of freedom in functioning.
Also, it was only a few decades ago, that if you left the house, you were not contactable, noone knew where you were, and even when you got home, not all of us had a landline phone, or you could leave it off the hook. Your time was your own back then. But now that we have mobile phones, there has been a huge flip to where, just because we are contactable 24/7, that it somehow means we should be expected to respond, immediately, 24/7. Theres no respect for other people's "me time", and there is such discourse towards those who silence their phones etc. Xx
I heard someone say it was a hamaspital and I actually did a spit-take with my drink
@Austin wondering if youve ever seen the high budget, stand alone, comedic film trailer called something like "very slow death with a spoon"? I feel that would be right up your street. Its not a real film trailer, its a fake trailer, but its done in such an austin way. Xx
dude PLEASE review challengers, i was so excited for it but its so bad and everyone keeps pretending ors good
I would rather you sing the theme poorly than a bot sing it great
I kind of can't listen to stories about animals being slaughtered for no reason. I was listening to a podcast about the horrors in Irak but when they talked about slaughtering the zoo animals because 'they used to be owned by Saddam Hussain' I could not listen to it, I had to skip that episode...
