Finally the Astros got a Phillies pitcher they could hit. Arrighetti was awesome, but again, the difference is the Astros finally hit well . Hope my man Yordan keeps that bat hot. He is the main threat in current Astros lineup. I hope Tucker returns soon!

Woulda been nice to have had some of this on Monday but, whatever. Just glad they didnt get swept. Speaking of sweeps, theyre gonna need to do that against KC to come out of this run of top teams with a winning record, although itll feel empty having lost the series to Boston and Philly, and only "not losing" to Baltimore cuz there was a 4th game. In reality? They lost all 3 series so far. Not what you want to prove how good you are. Thank the lord, Tucker will be back in a week or two.
I feel pretty good about our pitching. Rotation has 6 options to choose 4 for the playoffs, and the bullpen has been pretty damn good since like May. Especially adding Neris, man that just deepens the pen so much. My big fear is theyre just not gonna have enough offense....though Ben Gamel is making a case to take LF once Tuck comes back, and possibly in playoffs Caratini/Diaz split 1B/C. Suddenly that becomes a pretty good lineup with Peña and Meyers batting 8/9. I can live with that.

@mack72711 Reid Detmers threw a no hitter his rookie year in 2022. Tyler Gilbert in his first career start and only like his 3rd career MLB game threw one in 2021. Chris Heston 2015. Clay Buchholz 2007.
And those are just the ones who actually completed the no hitter. Paul Skenes has been pulled with a no hitter twice this year. There are countless examples of rookies who have done what Arrighetti did today. Not trying to downplay his performance, it was incredible, and with his steikeout rate, hes showing a ton of potential. But let's hold off on the "special" proclamations considering this is the first month he's managed an ERA under 4.00....
If only they could do this against a decent pitcher...

If he was still here, you'd be bitching and whining about how the Astros overpaid him just to miss half the season, and what a stupid decision it was to throw 250Mil at a player who is constantly hurt. 🙄
