I heard Andre' play live in Toledo, OH in 1975. He was flawless! I didn't sleep for a week! I proceeded to buy every album that I could find! He was the greatest trumpeter I ever heard. He inspired me as a player! Michael McClary, retired Professor of Music/ Trumpet.

Vivaldi did not write for this combination. It is a concerto for Oboe, Violin and Strings. Maurice Andre played many such works when he ran out of trumpet repertoire. Oboe concertos work particularly well in transcriptions for trumpet.
