I bought this game because of the artwork and the narrator voice in the trailer. Now, 160h+ later, his voice still gives me the goosebumps. "Grievous injury, palpable fear" perfectly defines my feelings when my heroes get critted!
The Dota voice pack for him is glorious. Every failure is crushing and pitied but every success earns a backhanded complimented or is alluded to as ephemeral.
0:552:433:09 These quotes get me the most because the characters in the game are people, skilled, ferocious fighters but are human fighting monsters and abominations that shouldn't even be real.

Every quote gives me that boost of patience to keep playing the game, the game is very frustrating but it feels right to make progress through hellish situations.
Darkest Dungeon is really good at making you feel despair. Especially when you got 2 heroes at death's door, one of them being one of your oldest recruits
Wouldn't it be cool to learn all of these phrases and just use them on daily basis instead of regular speech... Like, when somebody whines about not liking a party, you say "Those without stomach for this place must move on". Or, when meeting a Karen: "Towering. Fierce. Terrible. Nightmare made material". When you fuck up: "More dust… more ashes… more disappointment" When lights in the house go out: "And now… the darkness holds dominion - black as death". All of it, of course, said in the deepest voice you can muster.
I love the triumph and malevolent glee in his voice when he says "Eradicated !". The narrator is such a key part of what makes Darkest Dungeon feel so special.
