I have the larger 12 LXW and it is super comfortable and very warm. I use it motocamping, it’s not small, but not too big. I prefer to have a good nights sleep after a long day riding.
I have two black wolfe mega deluxe mats in my ozrent rv3. One for me one for the mrs, hands down has given the best nights sleeping ive had whilst camping, and that includes my old roof top tent. Top stuff.
Nice made video! I have the Synmat 7 LW and just purchased the Downmat 7 LW - I put a Deerskin inside my sleeping bag making it soo warm for the Danish winter :-)
Thanks for your feedback Tomadair1, the square edges are a great feature on the Exped Megamat, as you mention, it increases the sleeping area. Happy Camping! ~ Ben
RE: zempire monsta or megamat? I am not completely familiar with these mats, except that the brand is generally a cheaper one and that the air intake valve system does not appear to be as reliable or be suitable for adding an external inflation device like a pump if necessary. One last thing these are car camping mats with the emphasis on comfort, and I believe the exped allows more room to move about as it is wider for larger and more horizontally challenged people like myself [fat bastards]. Hope my opinion is of some use regards Tom Adair.
im 200lbs and 6'4", have had the exped on my concrete floor for 14 days straight sleeping on it to stress test it. No air loss believe it or not. I have it setup to allow stomach sleeping, so its fairly low in air pressure and is more comfortable than my bed. Which led me to ordering a new mattress lol. So now I use it nightly until my new mattress arrives on the 22nd. I feel like im really using the shit out of this and wanted to share that with anyone who is tall or on the heavier side that it is so comfortable.
Thanks for your feedback, Austin, we've had a lot of positive feedback on the Exped mats and has all been largely in line with your comments on how comfortable the mat is. I hope your new mattress is as comfy as your Exped. ~ Ben
I have both mats and it’s a close contest. The exped pump works a bit better then using the blackwolf bag. However, I find the softer material on top of the blackwolf makes it slightly more comfortable and I always get the compression right faster with the Blackwolf. Not sure, could be due to its lower profile. Both storage bags are great.
You can store it rolled up, Michael, it just means that the self-inflation properties of the mat will not be as efficient compared to having the mat stored in a non-compressed manner. I keep mine in my swag which is loosely rolled for storage as I don't have the space to store it in a fully inflated manner. ~ Ben
Good question, Tim, and not one I can give a definitive answer for, sorry. The only information I'm able to obtain about the Exped foam is this - 16 kg/m² opencell PU foam, Oekotex 100 certified. The Oekotex certification is a standard used for testing fabrics for harmful substances, but they don't mention anything about antibacterial properties anywhere. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. ~ Ben
Check out the Exped dealer locator page, Lakhbir, that would be the best place to find a store near you. You can view it here - www.exped.com/canada/en/dealer. ~ Ben
We currently don't have a freight partner who we can trust to do this reliably, Kelly, and we still feel we have a way to go in offering a better delivery service for our Australian customers. We would also need to reconsider our lowest price and free delivery offerings if we were to start shipping internationally. I'm pretty sure you already have a bigger selection in the US than we do in Australia, or am I mistaken here?. Sorry for the inconvenience. ~ Ben
@@CanadianTexaninLiguria the best and most durable tents besides the Kodiak are made in Europe. Crua has a base shipping area in NY but it s made in Europe. When you look at the design and high quality materials that Coleman uses.... again from Europe. I know Coleman is American based but look at the materials used and the models of the tents in Europe vs USA. Very different. I have a Kodiak, and a Europe design Coleman.... quality tents with longevity.

Deerskin! Not something we hear about much, if at all in Australia, Chris. I guess our winter minimums don't even come close to yours though. ~ Ben
I have both mats and prefer the exped ,more usable sleeping area due to square edges and a nicer soft finish.

I have Exped synmat 7 great hiking mat never felt the cold .
Can you keep the exped mat stored away rolled up?
Or must it be stored under a bed set up in order to protect the inner foam

If you can't find a tent in USA, there's something wrong with you.

My bed cost 5k. When you're talking about a good night sleep it's priceless. I'd spend 500 for the perfect mat camping if I could find one in the US.
@@jamesswanson7213 The Exped is less than $200 at REI. I use it in my SUV camper conversion build. Incredibly comfortable.
