That trumpet soloist really felt that. Putting all that emotion through your instrument is really powerful. Based on personal experience its nothing I've ever felt before.
@@davispogor4460I had some of their percussionists as my drumline techs as well. They all have so much heart and made marching band so much fun. I’ll never forget them 🤘❤️

Uhhh are we just NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE BALLAD??? I have seen a lot of DCI shows online, but this was the first to make me cry. Love you Blue Devils!
Seriously the best show ive ever had the pleasure of listening to. The ballad and the closer are easily the best examples of peak Blue Devils, so congrats on making such amazing music.

@Malik Campbell- IIRC, the Scojo told Brandon to march academy 2013 because he was 15 at the time. 16 year olds CAN march the blue devils, theoretically with enough talent. Brandon is probably the only one to be able to honestly.
LOL most people in this culture don't. It's such a tough language, that I feel that it takes formal study in school to have a clue. Personal biases aside, I don't agree w/ DCI's scoring system...but yeah this is a top 5 show of all time easy. But yeah lol. Music by musicians (people who are fluent in the language of music) isn't popular in America....and definitely isn't well-liked.
That dynamic decision at 2:53 is my favorite part of the show...how the soft dynamic there (maybe mp?) is "bookended" by a loud percussion feature and loud brass. The dynamic contrast there is gorgeous.
@alien He stepped off on time. it's a staggered move and the rest of his line is not visible because the camera cuts them off (there are two others in his line closer towards the sideline). If you want to see the whole form move, it's at 4:45 in this video: ruclips.net/video/j-_x53Epfqk/видео.html
People out here saying Tilt was better smh. Like okay sure i get it, you're a freshman and its the first show that your band director showed you to get you to like DCI and marching band but lets be real here, this show deserved its first place. And dont get me wrong, Tilt is still one of my favorite shows, but if we're being honest its not even the best electronics-heavy show done by the bluecoats (thats my opinion Kinetic Noise is just incredible to me) Judging and scoring is based on performance and how clean a show is way more than it is based on how cool it might seem. The Bluecoats, while they did something insanely unique and original, had a lot of "crutch moments" in the eyes of the judges. One example being in the first movement where one snare drummer is banging a gock-block to keep time in the middle of the field. It is a fantastic show, but it could have been cleaner. Meanwhile BD pulled a PERFECT VISUAL SCORE AND NEAR-PERFECT SCORES IN THE OTHER CATEGORIES AS WELL. This wasn't just a beautifully designed show, but it was incredibly well executed. This show deserved its win, thats just the truth of it.
@@gunner-qf9eh bro this is the most mid show I’ve ever watched. Idc if it’s the highest scoring. It’s just not the best and it should not have been scored this highly😭
Better in what? LMAO. They lost by over 2 and a half points. That's like saying a football team who loses 56-0 is the better team. Lol. Tilt was breathtaking. But BD was on a completely different level.

and I fortunaately have him as my brass and marching director at HS

wow they actually stuck a camera inside of the prop camera

4:58 That moment when youth flies away.
I remember going with my entire band to a movie theater to watch this live. Super cool!~ ♥
One of the greatest musical programs ever.
Statistically the best dci show btw
The smiles on their faces are what really make me want to do this
I keep coming back to this show year after year - hits the feels just right :,)
With a score of 99.65 I think
Yup
Who knows how much more they would have got if they literally won every caption that year...
@@R4V3NOfficial they didn’t get a perfect brass score I don’t think, or percussion, sheesh if only
@@lucasb3462 SCV won percussion that year (that's all I know)

Why do the blue devils always get the audio from the crowd put into everything even when it drones out the actual show

to this very day, STILL MY FAVORITE SHOW
Couldn't agree more, also like the Mac Miller prof pic
I’m not high, that’s Brandon Olander at 2:42 meaning he marched at least 6 years, did BD make and exception for him?
He just joined really young
You could ask him he's the comment right above yours....

you can join while ur in high school

seeing the expressions and the emotion is the best part ahh i love it
Cool but what's the point of having a snare cam if you can't see the snare
we not gonna talk about how absolutely flawless that split was?
7:56?
Holy Crap! It’s been 8 YEARS
The snare cam at 2:09 is absolutely sending me
This show gives me all the feels. Wow I miss drum corps
I love how the one snare cam you dont even see a drum you just see the sticks at Forte sometimes 😂
The color guard SNAPPED
12:10 smooch ;^)
Statistically this is the best DCI thing ever, but I still like 2011 The Beat My Heart Skipped better. :(
5:00 did someone step off early?
alien I’m pretty sure it’s staggered and he’s the first group and if not the only one in the group the rest are probably off camera
alien oh wait I see what you’re talking about now. Not sure, it’s almost in a completely different tempo from the people before him

Yeah it sucks, that was the best recording of the show.

You could put it on a google doc and share the link
I would have absolutely lost my mind if I saw this live
what a great solo trumpet performance felix....
