Make sure your plug wire and plug cap are good, don't use a resistor plug cap, and make sure the carb is clean, get some guitar strings to run thru the carb passages, use a Champion N-3 plug, make sure valves are adjusted, make sure float needle is good, then I turn on gas and choke, open the throttle and kick it thru three times to prime cylinder with gas, close throttle, kick.

Take that Del Orto carb and throw, it in the trash and put a PWK 30mm on it and it will start on the first kick. That's how I fixed mine.
