It's exactly what we need and certainly we must use from now on and entire life... It will be very interesting if people could buy it to all family, at least two of them each person in the house. Nice life and good Health to all. Thanks for your great job. God bless you all.🙏 🇧🇷
thank you I have the blue one by 3M and I was having a hard time getting it to stay on my face without it falling completely around my face and thanks to this video I know it was there little knobs on the side that needed to be adjusted so thank you for that!
Can I wash with water and soap after use? How about hand sanitizer. But the problem itmight damage the visor and besides I don't want smell and chemical around my face.
The 3M Tuffmaster is quite a bit better than the lowest cost face shield that is commonly available for $18. The plastic shield is longer and slightly thicker and it does make a difference but if you are just sanding than a N95 and the cheapest mask is fine plus keep your chin down, also wear glasses underneath the face shield.
Thank you so much for these options that you have presented. Do you think the 3M will be too heavy for children (9 and 11 yrs old)...also, not sure if this has been covered, would there be much room for safety goggles underneath the 3M visor as I do not think they make safety glasses small enough for children (i've been able to find safety goggles for children though). Would you be willing to share the 3M model number also please as I have not been able to find the "Tuffmaster" in Canada, unless it's called something different. Thank you
That 3M face shield looks very much like the Cabot Safety face shield, which I wore back when I was deployed in the Persian Gulf during the war. I wonder if the replaceable shield is the same.
Good starter video. I'm curious whether each of these meet the ANSI Z87 standard from 2003, 2010, or 2015. Also, with a rating of "Z87", these faceshields are designed to protect against BASIC IMPACT, nothing more. Actually, if you read the manufacturers data for most faceshields, it will likely say they are "secondary protection" and should be worn over "primary protection", which is properly rated safety glasses or goggles. In order to get "HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT" protection, one will need to wear protection rated "Z87+". Generally this means wearing safety glasses with this rating and a faceshield over them. If a blank on the lathe comes apart while spinning, the face shield will offer little if any resistance or protection. Many people feel that with a face shield (even a Z87 rated one) they are protected. Unfortunately that simply is not the case.
Great question Mark. All three faceshields in this video are high impact rated. The Apprentice and 3M Tuffmaster faceshields are rated ANSI Z87+ and the Bubble Visor is rated ANSI Z87.1.
Having just spent some time researching the difference between an ANSI Z87+ rating and an ANSI Z87.1, I learned that “Z87+” indicates high-velocity impact, and “Z87” alone means basic impact. It's possible, even likely, that the Bubble Visor meets the higher Z87+ impact standard -- the shield is made of thicker material than the Apprentice face shield that earned the higher rating. Also, the shape of the Bubble Visor's lens makes it stiffer, which should help it provide more protection from impact damage. So, it's possible the manufacturer simply hasn't submitted the Bubble Visor for testing at the new Z87+ standard.
You can use glass cleaner or anti-fog wipes to clean the visors. However, if you own the bubble visor, do not use any cleaners on the inside or outside, because it will ruin the anti-fog coating. Only use a clean cloth on the bubble visor. Here's a link to some great lens cleaning wipes that we offer. www.woodturnerscatalog.com/p/89/6380/Bausch-%26-Lomb-Lens-Cleaning-Towelettes
Don't you make wider? I see you on the side and the glass barely cover half of the side of face far away from the ear, because if somebody sits on my side in a office, I don't want the persons cough or talking spray on the side of my face. that's why the shield should be wider at leat near the ears.

Mild soap and water should work.
Thank you!!!
@MurkedlikeJ soap, water, rinse, let drain/dry. I make soap...raw soap doesn't harm it and cleans with no streaks.
