- Sometimes things are not always what they seem, especially in the small suburban town where the Carpenter family lives. Single suburban mother Susan (Naomi Watts) works as a waitress at a diner, alongside feisty friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman). Her younger son Peter (Jacob Tremblay) is a playful 8-year-old. Taking care of everyone and everything is Susan’s older son Henry (Jaeden Lieberher), age 11. Protector to his adoring younger brother and tireless supporter of his often self-doubting mother - and, through investments, of the family - Henry blazes through the days like a comet. Susan discovers that the family next door, which includes Henry’s kind classmate Christina (Maddie Ziegler), has a dangerous secret - and that Henry has devised a surprising plan to help. The fact his little brother "brought back" Henry with fake snow literally destroyed me at the very end. I consider myself a tough guy, but that scene gave my eyes a reason to water. The story is so well written and just bloody amazing!

Yeah same, this was the 2nd movie that made me cry especially the scene where Henry is in hospital and he wants to see the sky and his mom tells him to look up and then he dies
I couldn’t stop crying then and even now it’s still heartbreaking
It’s very, very sad. Henry’s death scene and his final conversation with his little brother Peter makes me emotional every. Damn. Time.

One of the most underrated movies ever! The cast was brilliant. Stevie Nicks is awesome. "The Book of Henry" is a great film because it manages to deal with many aspects of human lives both the positive and the negative. I love this movie. I cried and will cry again

What an absolutely wonderful fantastic song, so catchy, Stevie really has to preform this live. It's not very often I hear a song for the first time and love it; "Your Hand I will never let it go" is just perfect, Oscar winner indeed.
Time does makes you bolder and children get older but it seems that stevie will always be beautiful and magical.
Now I'll have to go see this movie because it has a Stevie Nicks song in it. That's how much I love Stevie and have since the first time I heard that voice and saw FM Rumours tour in 1977.

During my journey to watch every movie Jacob has ever been in, I came across this movie and I am REALLY glad I did. It’s a heartbreaking but beautiful story. I love it. Makes me cry every time.
