Beautiful! This is about the only way a non-Navajo can see Grand Falls. We tourists should have been better stewards of the land!

Yep, only from the air these days. I have a hard time believing that’s the reason they closed it to non-natives. I have flown over the Navajo Nation quite a bit and see how their personal land looks-and unfortunately it looks like a junkyard in many instances. I know it’s not popular to say such things, but that’s what I see from the sky.

@@azparamotor yep... Our last trip through reservations for me at least, left me thinking the "crying indian" commercials from the 1970s were a big lie. We hiked hundreds of miles in national parks and never saw so much as a chewing gum wrapper on the ground, but 2 miles into Navajo land & the place reminded me of open landfill areas. The biggest garbage item? liquor and beer containers that likely would cause issues if they were disposed of properly with one's household trash...so? they get tossed out the window of thee pickup truck on the side of the road. Leased land = no pride of ownership = trash everywhere.

Yep. This is very true. Sadly.
