Regarding usage of PVC as your drop pipe in a well pump installation, is there a recommended installation of connecting the pipes with consideration of water flow direction? ie water flowing towards the bell end? Thanks

I'm installing a 1 HP pump in a shallow well. I'm using 1-1/4 Sch. 120 for drop pipe. The well is only 50 feet deep. I've had problems with the pump picking up sand from the bottom of the well. I want to set the pump at 34 feet deep. I have two 20-foot long sections of threaded PVC. Can I cut one of the pipes to be 14 feet long and use a standard pipe threader to tap the cut end? Would it be better cut out six feet in the middle of the pipe and glue them together with a coupling ?

Glue or Cement? You said it's not glue, but referred to it as glue several times (ha, ha). We all call it glue.
Thanks for all the different videos.
I had to put a coupler on a broken PVC pipe coming out of a concrete wall. It had a small chip out of the edge, but I was only able to put the coupler over that edge about 1/4 of an inch for my suction line from the lake. Do you think it will work? Guess time will tell. My pump isn't working either that's the next project after watching your videos.

Thanks for the comment! The only way to tell if it will hold is to pressure test and check for leaks. Give us a call if you need any help with your pump: 855.329.4519
