- Aegis got a massive change to his shield ability: friendlies can now shoot through it, but it has a limited HP bar. Does this make him better or worse?
FYI - I know i mentioned Aegis being in tier 6 instead of tier 5. In either case, I still think hes worth getting.

This was a good change, I always thought it was stupid not to be able to fire through your own shield.
I get that. Im still on the fence. The change is clearly better for the mech and a given match. But Aegis also had a unique feel and function. Now hes almost like a second panther. Hard to say no to that idea though...

@@leonardotrujillo8661 no he’s waaaayyy better than puma and even though his shield isn’t invincible it’s very sturdy and covers overhead for mortars and helix so in some sense he can be better than panther. But panther is faster and has 32 energy so he’s better. But aegis is on his tail to me. Gonna be very useful.
Not being able to fire through your shield is perfectly logical, just frustrating when allied bots pop them just as you fire.

i got aegis early on. i only had it in my hanger because it was an epic with solid hp. the shield ability was a little underwhelming when you couldn't shoot throw it yourself. This change feels needed but I feel like the whole thing about aegis was being indestructible.
Ive shelved my Aegis for 6 months. Was having a hard time using it. side, back and front shooting was difficult for me , plus i was always getting in my team mates way. I felt bad about that . But now with the change of his shield looks like hes coming out of the closet . 😊

i couldn't help but notice the eclipse bots and gatecrasher, that's something i never thought they would do
I usually used to think that aegis was the worst tank but now they buffed it and it is amazing.
Get change, but I've stopped playing, really enjoy the game, but being 1 shot by bots just gets tiresome, until that's adjusted I won't be back.
Don't play out in the open and they can't 1 shot you
Good change and it does make Aegis viable. Weirdly, I'm encouraged by the change because it gives me hope that they may change/improve Gatecrasher, a mech I paid for and was subsequently disappointed by.
I think gatecrasher is decent but not quite as viable as some other options. Sorry he has worked for you 😢
This was a crazy change for sure and I considered a lot of things. Aegis is definitely a better mech, he can be more aggressive and can help teammates as well. My only concern or con about this is that this was an ability for anti mortar, or barrage and when comparing with rm dmg one shield will get destroyed much quicker and it will no longer be a proper anti artilerry ability. What I mean is now aegis is doing what other mechs can do, so I don't know how much value it can gain, obviously it will be used by more players but still don't think it makes him op.
I think he is a good alternative to bastion, now with the teamplay his shield offers and his speed he seems more versatile especially in cpc. I’m excited to buy him.
I tested my maxed Aegis with a friend and the only thing that destroy his shield are 2 shots from EM 16 only if both shots are crits. Disc 16 only does half damage, EM 12 does a little bit more than half healt to 3/4 if hits crits. Disc 12 does 1/4 as well as missile rack 12. I couldn't tested against mortars or Railgun. Also a couple of days ago I managed to complete all achievements for his skin. Aegis is my favorite mech, love to see that they change his ability.

With that upgrade he probably become a must have mech in the game a kind of 24 energy panther but with more hp. Definitely a must have for me.
In the last f2p batle vlog u was saying you will upgrade grav beams 10 to 6 star get second copy and give to panther. And i was like "oh big mistake that's a waste" so i was really struggling on agora map since i don't have long range weapons.
So decided to buy grav beams 10 and get dual copy since i have enough blue prints.
and my god this a deadly combo
Am at 3.5k sp like you and constantly getting 20-25 kills per match. Tournament is so easy for me.
Just marko 4 star as pilot and normal implants lv4. Still looking for the beam range implant.
But even without it it's a monster build .
I even got 30 kills on some match in two rounds.
400-500 point per match dang!!!

Glad to hear that! Yea I am fortunate enough to have the test server to play with builds and I did that with the gb10. I was pleasantly surprised and knew it would be a good choice. Still waiting on some blueprints and will get some this weekend during the modifier. Hope to have my duals soon!
@@scape211 also am in tier 6 and already get 17 star there (21 when i get vrpg 14)
But in my hangar i only have 3 really useful build (panther dual gbeam 10 reedemer disc 8 and orion disruptor 8 ) two others build being guardian dual shotgun 8(4star yeah did regret investing in them) and sentinel arc 10+6
I was thinking of getting aegis which is in previous tier . I feel like he will be more efficient with arcs than sentinel.
What do you think? Can you test it on test server please? Or what should be my 4th and 5th build?
It's a great option Vs hemlock now but will likely be nerfed so use your acoin to upgrade with caution.
Hemlock needs the Zeph nerf

id say he is better than panther in terms of blocking disc, cus if u use panther and there is a wall behind u disc can spam that wall ignoring ur front wall and splash damage u to death

I didn’t know about the shield change. Good thing I watch this. Now I understand how weird it was to pull up a shield, but shoot around it. It makes more sense to shoot through it while you still inside.
I think panther is better than aegis because mechs like surge,nomad,killshot can do emp and damages as they can easily pass shield with dash on the other hand panther have stasis to stop them aegis speed is slow so when it's ability is off you can't escape also you can't dodge cheetah mines and if a bastion or surge came close than it would be dead

scape does the match making is now based on inventory power other than squad power and al got a huge update they all are running legendary mechs and weapons
I realised that bots use mechs like tengu, eclipse and hemlock and non-natural star rating legendary weapons (saw this with the minigun and em bots)
Be prepared to see domes everywhere! 😮 yeah , you might be able to shoot through them , but that goes for the enemy having them as well ! Domes to the left of me , Domes to the right ... Domes , Domes , everywhere a Dome...🎼🎵🎶⚠️😅😅😅 (Domes are going to need to be down-sized and 100% un- penetrating)
I used to play this game but when i saw a same rank guy as me has better mech and weapons than me . After watching this i quite.
Bro i did every single fcking task , events still i can't get good weapons and mechs unless i use money .

2. To rank upgrade my stalker so that it could use disc launcher 8s
3. To buye helix rack 10 (so that i can make a good 16 energy combination of helix rack 10 and javelin rack 6)
I currently have panther(20) killshot(16) guardian(20) and zephyr(16) in my hangar

Stalker is ok but might feel kinda squishy as a rare. Redeemer is good if you feel you need a scout. Helix 10 isn’t too great and too expensive for my tastes. But if you have helix 6 already it’s not bad for a 16 energy build.
My gut goes to redeemer just due to also having 16 energy like stalker but more viable as an epic

This is as big as what they did for Surge. From trash to omg. I barely used him in the year or so since I've had him. After 1 day, I think he now replaced Bastion for me in the top 5. Only thing that was ever good about him was the excellent mobility (not just speed but mobility.. he moves like butter). Now he is actually useable.
Ur def a rookie if u love surge.. Its a beginner bot for low skill players that can't take players out if they're fighting back

Nah panther still has bottomless hp if you use it right can equip stronger weapons and gives enemies a reason to not just walk through its ability

I somewhat agree and that’s why I’m on the fence. Aegis had a unique function and required coordinating and skill to use. Now it’s easier and more viable but less skill driven for big brain plays

Always thought aegis was a good mech but sucked that you couldn't shoot through the shield like every other bot. Like the change, but only goes to 24. Could you imagine the sniping capabilities with 32?
NO. Tanks only go to 24 energy for a reason giving ANY tank let alone the one that now has the most insane amount of ability hp with completely destroy what little balance this game has left

@@scape211speculation are there will be a new anti-buffs/debuffs/shields mech soon in order to be able to counter all latest releases (quantum gun/hemlock/aegis shield).
That should shift meta more to pure fighting.

It's really boggus tbh. They should nerf his shield hp by 40% and make it so that teammates' wpn dmg through this will be reduced by 20%..
His HP should be nerfed by 10% itself.

No why nerf his hp the hp is fine and against high ranked up ep rifle and missle rack 12 and 16 also rocket mortar they can easily take down the shield also if you nerf the shield by 40% the 300000 shield with only be around 160000 that’s to weak

I’m also wonder if the shield is too high. Either that or other items need to be brought inline. This feels like a win for the hp deficit this game typically has but that’s only if the overall meta changes. If not he will just feel a cut above everything
