Excellent research! Keep it up! 41 years ago 3 different hospitals predicted I had 3 months to live because of a melon-sized teratoma at the age of my 19th birthday. Surgery removed the tumor, however, they recommended NOT to go through chemotherapy because no one at that time had ever beaten this disease at that time-- and that I should enjoy the final 3 months of my life with my family. That was totally unacceptable. A fourth hospital took my case. After 2 years of chemo the exploratory surgery showed the cancer was totally gone. Now, I wonder was it the chemo that saved me or the fasting I did for 3-4 days in a row per month x 2 years. It turns out that during chemo, I got nausea so acutely, that I could not eat nor even smell food, without throwing up-- even on an empty tummy. The one drug that could ease nausea caused my throat to close/tongue swell within minutes of the injection. So, of course, I just dealt with nausea. Now, I wonder if the nausea was the God-send. . . because it meant to fasting 3-4 days in a row, monthly x 2 years. This fasting starved my cancer cells of glucose. Btw, I'm still strong at 61-- for a person that wasn't expected to live past 19 years.

+Audrey Fischer What if chemo 'works' because of the nausea and ketosis that sets in, not the chemo itself? And all that toxin is a horrible unneeded torture?

+Audrey Fischer If i may say a thing or two. People dont have a clue, how healthy is fasting. I am a muslim, and we have a holy month RAMADAN, where you fast from dawnt till sundown for a whole month. Not only is spiritualy very healthy, but your and maany other cases are proof that is even phisicalyy ver important to fast, since you get rid of many toxicants. I could give you a countless reasons why fasting is good.. Our beloved prophet(peace and bllesings be upon him) used to fast oftenly. I am glad that you have beaten this sneaky disease with the help of God. Continue enjoying your life.

+Audrey Fischer It might have been a combination of the 2. The chemo weakened the cells and the lack of glucose finished them off. Many adaptations happen when the body is in starvation mode. Our ancestors had to go very regularly through periods of starvation, so obviously the body had to adapt to it. So I think it makes perfect sense to try and use those adaptations to starve cancer cells.

Battery9876 - But if the combination of chemo and ketosis is what works, the docs should at least find a way to MENTION it.... or maybe they could suggest fasting or ketosis first, then try the poisons if there's still an issue. But of course, that would require putting people before profits, and paying attention to 100 year old knowledge bases.

I am very pissed off!! Very!! We searched and researched for help... went to Duke Univ... not one time did anyone ask if he was in the military, or was he a diver, or what kind of diet was he on. They shot him up with chemo, radiation, decadron, keppra and Avastin...he was dead 5 months after diagnosis... I'm really pissed off because I asked, I called... even the American Cancer Society said...we are sorry there is no cure for a high grade glioma... well thanks a lot.

I have been listening to a number of lectures on alternative cancer research. It is very upsetting that the medical community just refuses to give the patient the info they need, and let the cancer patient decide. Are they really trying to cure cancer, or just protecting their own little world. Sad but true cancer is big business Doctors need to make their patients aware of any research that may benefit their patients, whether it goes against the established medical community or not.

My mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, chronic kidney disease, and diabetes. Her A1C at its peak was 9 and the chemo treatment landed her on her death bed. We were told to start planning her funeral and she would never walk again. She walked out of the hospital a year later. She lost 45 pounds in the hospital but regained them back and more and her cancer began getting bad again. I began doing research. Put her on the ketogenic diet and began natural supplements. Her A1C is now 5.9, kidney function is better, and cancer is slowly diminishing. Every one of her doctors are shocked and have told her they have never in their career seen such improvement, but do you think they have ever asked what she is doing to get better? She is doing well and has lost 80 pounds. I’m a firm believer that sugar feeds cancer.

Fasting kills cancer. Cancer cells are cheap imitations of normal cells, and while normal cells can handle fasting perectly well, the cancer cell cannot. Fasting was so common for our human ancestors, and all cultures had to deal with food shortages, especially in winter. In addition, immune system function skyrockets during fasting, fighting pathogens and disease producing organisms. It's like the body kows what to do...

Nobody deserves to go through the horrors of chemotherapy and live out the last few months of their lives this way. I cannot imagine the pain they must go through while receiving this treatment. I hope that this diet will be an alternative to chemotherapy one day. It is truly fascinating how much of an impact your diet can have on your overall health. It affects so much more than just your body weight. Epilepsy and cancer are horrific diseases that are many times treated with powerful drugs and the fact that something as simple as changing your diet could have this big of an impact is so amazing to me. I hope that in the future, the science of ketones lead to more medical breakthroughs.

Is it just the lack of sugar and ketogenic diet that would be able to clear out the cancer? I love this research that has been done and look forward to reading/hearing more about the ketogenic diet because what it's sounding like is that there are a lot of positive aspects, but are there any downsides? Another question that I hope someone could answer is how long would it take to "cure" a disease like cancer or epilepsy via the ketogenic diet? I've always believed that most of the cures for our illnesses can be found in nature and seeing this video reaffirms my belief in that. Keep up the good work and keep asking the important questions.

I know some Silat Temple in Northern Sumatera cure cancer by doing this kind of starving treatment, but they added a few of breathing techniques that can be attributed to the Oxygen level of your brain that helps like those weird machine. So, I think what this doctor says is true.

Otto Warburg, Seyfried: not brute force but intelligence can cure cancer. Believing in aggressive treatments including surgery means not understanding that cancerous cells are highly mutated and therefore extremely weak compared to healthy cells. It also means not understanding that the disease is enhanced by a diet our organism is not equipped to tolerate (as it evolved from hunters and gatherers that did not yet know industrial agriculture)

This is an interesting video and I'm very glad that there is a diet for those who have drug resistant seizure disorders. What I was curious about is the gut microbiome of those with this condition. It would be cool to know what their biota measures like before and after the introduction of the diet that reduces / eliminates the seizures. I ask this because I am wondering if the changes in organisms in the gut producing (or reducing) by products of digestion have anything to do with this problem. For example, if one particular species increases with the new diet, could supplementation of the species alone or in addition to the diet help the seizures.

My grandaughter was having seizures. Petit mal between 8 and 15 an hour. Three medication changes over 8 weeks with no effect. Bought her some ketone gummies. Took two a day. First day her seizures were cut in half and in four days they were gone. There was a minor change in medication but I don't think it was the medication that stopped the seizures. I think it was the ketones. She was on them for about 2 months and then her parents forgot or decided not to give her the ketones. She began to start twitching. They upped her meds and they stopped. I wish her parents had kept her on the ketones and dropped the meds rather than vice versa.

As a method of healing cancer, I don't understand how Keto can negate
the fact that you eat eggs/meat/dairy and these animal proteins increase
IGF1 which increases chances of cancer growth, so unless there is
something that protects or stops IGF1 from affecting growth. do the fats
stop this? And also if someone coming from a vegan or very low protein
diet swithes to keto doesn't this tax the kidneys?
I was diagnosed with cholesterolosis (gallbladder polyps made from
cholesterol on the GB wall) last year and last month diagnosed with
Fatty Liver and so now my strategy is to severely restrict my carb
intake so that my liver will start to use up this fat in my liver, I was
just worried about my kidneys and cancer, seeing as animal proteins
will increase IGF1, so I just don't understand how keto diets or eating
animal protein help protects against cancer I always thought IGF1
    increases the chances of cancer.
I want to reduce my feeding window to about 5 to 7hrs so basically I
will be fasting everyday, I'm not doing a full fast because I have been
taking meds for 20yrs (paxil and prilosec - tapering slowly off these
drugs now) and so can't fast whilst on these meds.
I want to be taking 800cal per day in two meals, I did see a documentary
of one guy who did this and reversed his fatty liver (with before and
after scans for proof) he followed this 800cal very low carb diet and
reached his goal after two months, obviously can't ingest too many fats
as they'll send you over 800cal quickly.
What I don't understand is that some diets like the McDougall and Gerson
don't include any animal proteins, as they say they drive cancer growth
and yet keto says that their way can heal cancer, I don't get it, can
    anybody explain please.

+Calogero Fiore fat doesn't store as fat. Fat doesn't spike your blood sugar or insulin levels. You can eat as much fat as you want and you will lose the fatty liver. Protein however should be taken moderately as it does convert to sugar but much less so than carbs. Just keep the carbs very low. That is my advice. Good source of protein, fish and eggs. I started on a high fat low carb medium protein diet almost 4 years ago and I am now wearing the same size pants as when I left high school. I am 62 now.

      Paleo Bill
Thankyou Bill, I started on Mcdougall type diet of starches just to see what happens for 2 weeks and see if I lose weight on it. They say that with this diet of eating starches you feel full and are satiated and lose weight, you lose weight in the liver first (or one of the first areas) so that helps to heal my problem (fatty liver).
A doc advised me to go low carb and some good fats and some proteins and that eating high carb meals would not be good as the carbs will be stared as fat in the liver, both these two are docs and have completely different methods for fixing fatty liver.
I did full keto for about 3 days but couldnt continue as the protein I couldnt digest as I have GERD and take meds to reduce acid.

    • @wayne4768
      @wayne4768 8 лет назад +5

Interesting. You don't need to go to full keto. It is pretty extreme. Just go with the Atkins diet and not the induction as that is basically a keto diet. If you cut out most carbs except for fruit and vegetables you will do just fine and you don't need much protein. Chicken wings are good and eggs and fish but not much. Maybe 4 oz per day is enough for you. I always had acid reflux before. Ate tums like going out of style but turns out it was bread and grains that caused my heartburn. I don't have it now but if I eat some bread, it is back. I always thought it was fat before.

      Paleo Bill
Thanks Bill, its good to know there are variations within eat diet plan, Im on day 2 of mcdougal starch based diet, will try it for 2 weeks and see if I can lose weight on it, I feel full as in the keto but not sick, it makes sense though cause I have low stomach acid cause of meds and so its tough digesting protein and fats tend to relax the LES sphncter muscle that is reponsible for acid reflux, its not the diet's fault but my particular circumstance that a particular diet can accomodate for.

      PTX 152
Thanks for the ideas and for your story of your healing. I have watched many videos (maybe too many) it seems the more you look the more confused a person gets cause some have the paleo idea and others have the vegan idea and these two schools have their own gurus, followers, scientific studies to prove their theories as well and I have been yoying between the two, for fatty I found that there are videos and stories of both approaches working and both saying that the opposite approach isnt a good idea, confused!!!
I'll do the low carb paleo but the problem is that Ive taken Paxil for 20yrs and so have depression problems so when I avoid carbsi feel low cause I think the body needs carbs in order to allow Tryptophan to enter into the brain, when going really low carb I would get palpitations in the evening and almost always when I had fish, weird. Some guy online said maybe I was potassium deficient.
Now am cutting down on the prilosec and substituting with herbs that support the healing of the stomach lining and gut and so I make a bowl of slippery elm and very ripe banana and take this during the day, so maybe I can use less banana and stop altogether.
I wonder, did you have a hiatal hernia? I have a sliding hiatal hernia and so taking HCI or apple cider vinegar would just create an acid solution that would come straight up cause of the Hernia opening up the LES and allowing acid into the esophagus, also need to lose weight which would help sort out both Hernia and fatty liver.
I suppose this is where both diets may work, if both diets help one to lose weight then they both have reached their goal via different paths cause losing wieght helps reverse fatty liver.
