      He was pushed around alot like Frans Steyn. But he could've been such a great flyhalf he was just before his time we still played the Morne Steyn type flyhalf. I thought he was great at Fullback.

    What a legend. I was 10 years old in 2010 when he scored those 2 tries in the Currie cup final.
    I grew up watching Lambie and Messi. So privileged. 🙌

    This is so sad but the most important part is he is healthy and I wish him the best health possible after all sport is fun but there is more to life than sport and I am glad Patrick is doing well in life

    Loved this chap from when he was still doing the most at Craven week to playing for the Springboks till that unfortunate incident. A true generational player of note. Glad to see you doing well Pat

    Super interview, particularly for young players coming up through the ranks. What a pity SA Rugby didn’t provide the support he needed at the time. I hope things have changed

    I can not imagine what it’s like to walk away from your passion and forgive and make the best of the choices available. Damn, all of SA rugby fans was hoping that Lambie would recover. Just to watch him play was inspiring.

    Pat was my hero when I was growing up. I'll never forget his performance in the 2010 Currie Cup final, and seeing him named in the Bok squad for the first time right afterwards. Still heartbreaking to see him talk about it

    Pat Lambie, aside from the injury, our coaches at the time completely mismanaged what should have been a glorious career. Wish him all the best moving forward

    According to John Smit Lambie was hugely respectful to the senior guys when he joined the Boks. He even called Bakkies "Oom".

    A most regrettable incident that robbed SA of a rugby super-hero. Great too see how Pat has moved on to other green pastures. Sometimes life has other plans for us.

      Yes but these are never intentional. He had I think 4 concussions previous to that incident. I’m not sure how the processes were back then . And stander has been very open about how he has tried to make it up

    I used to play rugby when I was in middleschool-highschool. I was pretty good, i even got selected to the best 30 of my region to play a national tournament my last year. I got hit in the head more than once but one time falling to the hard and dry ground I completely lost my sight for some seconds, felt dizzy and bad for the rest of the day. Not even comparable to the injury he got, yet after that I decided that sport is too dangerous and quit. Yall stay safe out there, unless you 100% love that game it's not worthy risk your life for something so stupid and rugby is VERY dangerous
