Sir Richard Attenborough said Dirk was the first recipient of the bafta lifetime award not Peter otoole or Michael Caine or Albert Finley or Sean Connery or Richard burton posthumously or James mason posthumously it really tells you what Dirk s peers thought of him and his immense talent as a film actor as for the quality of the tape bid thanks for posting the video mate it was great to see Dirk and the beautiful and lovely Jean Simmons Leslie Caron I wish Sylvia syms could have been there at least we got to see her in victim a incredibly brave and courageous film for Dirk to make at the height of his fame and popularity way back in 1961
Thank you for your comment, I have cleaned up the recording ,when I went to upload it as a whole, RUclips would not allow it as now there is copyright on some of the movies, so will leave it as it is ,it’s not that unwatchable, ,,At the time of this Dirk was very low just losing his partner and a stroke,
I've always hated the stupid practice of stretching out a 4 x 3 image to 6 x 3 making everybody look broad and fat. This is a typical example, uploaded by someone with absolutely no sense of pride in appearance or sense of showmanship. This example is even worse because it's been taken off a television screen with either a camcorder or mobile phone and it looks and sounds simply awful.
If you have a better copy of it upload it ,and I will delete mine , but as this is the only upload of this 1988 show on RUclips I guess nobody else recorded it that night , you don’t have to watch it just move on and troll somewhere else
