I was born in Rotherham in 1941. There was a sense of 'belonging' of 'caring' that I, sadly, saw beginning to disappear. I am happy when I look back, nostalgically for these days long since gone - never to return. Grammar School, The Regent, Hippodrome, Advertiser,Sitwell Arms (Whiston),Jazz at the Cranworth and the New Broom - Thanks to Dave Brennan, Bugs, Gerry and the band! I now live in retirement abroad but vow to visit once more before I 'pop my clogs'! My love to dear old Rotherham!
I have stayed in Rotherham for 10 years and to be honest with you I don't like the place at all, when I first came here I had thought that I would have been hearing the local accent, what I didn't expect was to come to a town where I would be hounded by immigrants, junkies and alcoholics and chavs, granted there's good and bad in most places, the town centre is not going to be worth going to for much longer, Meadowhall and Parkgate is sucking it dry, going by the pictures in thie video that I watched, yes, Rotherham looked to have been a really nice town, shame that it is near death now
Born and bred in Rotherham what a town and great people love the pictures takes me back.
