Hey Stu, I'm an 84 year old geezer thats played guitar all my life, almost. I'm playing uke because it is easier on my hands and fun. You are a great teacher. Sing good and play fabously. Thanks for all the free stuff.
Hello, Stu. I discovered your channel by accident, but I am really glad I did. I enjoy watching your videos. I've been inspired to pick up the ukulele again. Thank you for putting out such great ukulele content.
Hi Mr.Fuchs! i was one of your students for the three day program at broadway elementary , and i just wanted to thank you for the help you gave me ! you definitely made it so much easier to learn , and you are an amazing teacher. Thanks again , and i hope i can see you soon !
Hi Arie! Thanks for your comment! I LOVED working with all of you at Broadway Elementary...you really are a GREAT SCHOOL. If I can come back, we'll have such a great foundation under our belts that we can really go faster & farther together. Please tell all your classmates I say hi - and THANKS!! You may not realize how inspiring it is for me to see young people so enthusiastic about music!
Ukulele Zen you are a great musician and it was so fun working with you ! i’ll be sure to tell everyone you said hi , and thank you for helping with everything ! everybody really enjoyed it !
Gracias Pedro! The light touch on your strings...como se dice: “Manos suave?” Anyways it’s everything - takes a while to cultivate, but you’ll get it & your fingers will fly 😊
Great song...will add it to the cue. I will present it as a song choice for the monthly Patron - voted song. Keep in mind, this video series is not so much about song requests, but more about helping to solve technical questions players have.
Hi Stu, could you do a video on how to make finger picking sound more melodious and connected? I’m working on your version of When You Wish Upon a Star. I watched your video several times but I’m new to all the finger picking. I’ve got the song memorized and would really love to have it sound more melodic and musical. Any tips you have to connect the notes better would be really appreciated. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Hello, Peanut! Could you do a lesson on what kinds of filler chords or notes you would use in music phrases with large "empty spaces". Chromatic movements? Other devices? Thanks! Best, From Singapore ❤️
I like this idea too. I was interested in your posts initially because of that great little vid you made in Venice. What about repetitive soul tunes as well? Might be time for another James Brown number.
Hello Stu, thank you for sharing your love for Ukulele, my question is : What is the purpose of re-entrant tuning? Do you have some special playing tricks that use re-entrant tuning ? thank you
Hi Stu, Thank you so much for sharing ukulele techniques with us. I am wondering if you can do a lesson on how to play ukulele songs with feelings. I have your ebook and currently I am practising "You Are My Sunshine". It has such a great chord arrangement, however I found myself at the stage of punching notes like a robot. I am curious how you play this song. Thank you!
I, like a lot of people, have trouble going up the neck with movable chords (four fingers). Can you show some alternatives (inversions?) that will pretty much accomplish the same thing? I know, I know, practice, practice practice! But, my fingers are kinda large, and getting past the fifth fret is a-you fill in the invective! Thanks for your consideration.
That's a GREAT alternative Tor. I forgot to mention that...that would make the change feel a lot easier - you could even leave the G string out of the picture too. Thanks!
Ok how do you know all the conversions of chords like you did for this song? Is it through music theory or playing multiple instruments for a long time? Appreciate the work on your channel ty !
Hi Meg, It's a combination of both - music theory AND some fretboard geography so to speak. I'm working on an e-book about chord forms and ways to unravel this mystery. Until I release that book, I'll keep on sharing practical uses of applied music theory (using tunes as examples)...thanks & hope you'll subscribe for more goodies. Cheers, Stu
@@UkuleleZen sounds awesome! Ill definitely be purchasing that book. ;) Im glad to support you on Patreon , you really do help expand my learning. Thank you !!
I recorded a version of it in a New Orleans & Swing Style - www.stufuchs.com/stukulele For sure, I'll be making a Formby basics tutorial soon...it was one of the questions asked on a previous video.
Hi, i have a song to say, which i want to play with my ukulele. But i dont know the name of song. I know lyrics and melody. Lyrics are: `roll roll roll a joint, Twist it at the and, light it up and take your paff and pass it to your friend'. If you know, is it possible to show us ? Thank you.

Nice trick my man...thanks a ton 😇
Thank you Zen!
Thank you, Stu.
I would ask for any tune of George Benson if possible.
Yeah man! Maybe some jazzy chords in a cycle? That'd be a fun topic. Thanks Pavel

I find it easier to play the Fm6-like chords in A7-shape with my thumb on the top string. Try it!
