Thx this series is a Xmas 🎁 for me after returning to recording with a 20 year gap ... Thx again keep it up with these videos

Been in live bands for years… Just to say… bought Studio One to ‘do some stuff’ with a mate.. didn’t do it. Hadn’t touched it.. never used it.
Followed your tutorial on a basic drum loop and actually got something saved!! Your method is superb… just got to work out the next step of how to add some sort of keyboard etc.😂
I have subscribed so will be searching.

Thanks Joe, this is very helpful. Can you please do a Part II to this video? What I would be interested to see is how to work with the drum pattern mode for a full song with beat variations, different beats for verses, pre-choruses, choruses, fills, etc. Is it even practical to use pattern mode like this? How can you use pattern mode for many variations within a song so it's not the same pettern repeatedly? Thanks again!

And as a quick follow-up, Patterns are incredibly powerful in Studio 1. You can create and save dozens of variations to a pattern, and can have multiple sets of patterns/variations per instrument set. Swapping between variations is insanely simple after you've created them.

I was wondering how to do just this and a friend sent me a link to another guys RUclips. The screen capture was all blurry and he had the cart way ahead of the horse. He had all of the drum tracks laid out and didn't explain how to get them there. And he went racing around the interface without showing, as you did, alternative keystrokes, buttons. You also went back and did things twice sometimes. Thank you! Now I can go and lay down some bass tracks etc. with ease. and yes, I have created a template from this simple drum loop. Thanks for that as well.

Great video !!! I learned better what I had already seen the other day in another video. It should be added that you can also create VARIATIONS of the pattern by accessing the inspector of the pattern itself.
And then for example to have loops for the basic rhythm and loops with cuts that are then positioned where we want in the track through the usual methods of cutting and pasting, etc.
