Amy, I watched your video about how to properly wash and groom your dog. I used your tip of using a loofah and wow it was amazing so much more lather and a better clean. I've invested in a good shampoo, conditioner, scissors, brushes, nail clippers and wahl km 10 clipper to groom my own dog at home. I groomed him yesterday and all I can say is he looks nothing short of beautiful. With all your tips his fur is silky smooth, soft and smells amazing. I'm so pleased with myself lol. Thankyou for all your advice you are amazing x
Nice work!! I am going to attempt my first groom tomorrow. I’ve had my golden retrievers for the last 16 years but always paid to have them done. It grows back so fast it’s killing my wallet lol. Thanks for posting. 🥰😍
I'm only about a minute into the video and had to pause to make a comment about how adorable it is that the time is sped up and your dog's tail is wagging at the speed of sound like a super happy golden
Great job! I’m a groomer ! I groom just Golden Retrievers . (My mom is a hobby breeder) I’ve been doing it almost 13 years- you did a beautiful and thorough job. 😀
Hi, we have a Golden and we moved to Ocala, Florida. Unfortunately, we had to leave behind our excellent long time groomer. Do know of anyone in our area that can groom our golden properly? We have been to three different groomers so far and just haven’t been happy with the way she comes out. Thank-you.
thanks so much, a loofah for these dogs definitely helps, I'm getting ready to groom a golden and I didn't realize how many times they need to be brushed 0_0 but that just means I get to spend more time with them :) I have seen people take goldens straight into a bath which I knew was wrong due to how much undercoat there was on the dog but I wasn't sure of the exact process to work it out, thanks for the walkthrough
His name is Tex, I loved working with him for 12 yrs. He has since passed away and I'm so glad I made this video to look back on a see how much we loved working together grooming.❤️ Long-Live-Tex
Thank you for teaching me how to do this and the tools you use. I love this breed of dog and have had them since I was a kid. I just purchased two golden retriever puppies for my family and my young daughter loves them. We have a large farm they roam and come in at night
You do a great job! Only thing I didn't like was the tail, it looked too boxy and not trimmed to a more flowy shape but that's just my own personal preference. I am not a grommet just a hair dresser who is hoping to get a golden soon. Great job thanks for sharing your techniques and products!
Tail length seems too short. Should fall to the hock when trimmed. Since he is quite fluffy, the only way it could fall to the hock is when the hair is pulled down
I thought that too as well as the ears looking a little thin and shrimpy at the end. Idk, with the tail I just like the curved to a tip flow look rather than the strict must be cut at hock length right where the tail bone ends. But that ear part might just be me spoiled seeing Amy Comer's golden show dog basic ear trim video where she gives the back of the ear an adorable belved edge. Still this video has a lot of helpful stuff, not as much as GoGroomer's newer 45 min one with Ogie! That one is a definite saver.
Absolutely beautiful job! Thanks for such detail on the feet. My boy looks like he's wearing fluffy slippers. I've always been intimidated about how to clean up his feet. I feel a lot more confident after seeing your detailed video.
Wow just wow! I’m in tears! This is exactly what I needed to really take me to grooming my dog to the next level. Thank you for all the links to get what I need! Thank you thank you
Thank you this video. I accept your channel so much. You have taught me how to groom my first personal time golden retriever. I even got the same brush and it's a miracle and I use the methods.
Seeing all that undercoat coming out before the bath makes me very thankful that I have 2 field bred goldens. 🥴 they don't have near as much undercoat as the fluffy ones.
@jesus_reigns they're definitely higher energy. Bred to work. They're very smart, and require constant mind activity as well as a decent amount of body activity. When they get bored, they get mischievous.
Superb video, thank you. Lucky dog having such care applied to him. Sadly think too many dog groomers cut corners. With a little practice I think as a family we could master this, or at least make a half decent job.
🐾🐾😊 WOW , Ms : you do a real good job , 💯 percent , perfect excellent , have a very blessed day and please be safe and please be careful out there , 🐾🐾😊

I have six Golden's and I can't afford to take all of them to the groomer so I love seeing all that you do. Tons of tips for me thank you. I would like to know, you didn't mention, the electric shears you use for the paws, where do I find something that's quiet, that my dogs will like?
MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOVES MY HAIR DRYER BLOWER ..FUNNY HATES VACUUM LOVES GETTING HIS HAIR BRUSHED AND HAIR DRY BLOWN ...GREAT FUN ..HE EVEN MOVES LIKE MORE HERE
I got the same table second-hand to start up our grooming company at a shelter. It is very wobbly, despite being well-built. I notice you have some legs that seem to stabilize it. Do you have information on that?
I know what I am doing through years of experience but I am never too confident. I stay in close tune with what I am doing and how the animal Is feeling during every moment of the grooming season. It is a skill to groom dogs not a given.
I love your videos and expected a similar job from my new groomer. But my dog came back and the hair along his body looked a lot shorter! His wavy curls are gone. After investigating I discovered that the groomer used a furminator meant for short coated dogs. I feel sick. My dogs hair doesn't look choppy just shorter! Could the furminator do that? Do I fire the groomer?
This is why I take my golden retriever to a groomer regularly. I can give him a bath and basic brush but ai don’t have all the equipment to do this properly. I’d never get all the hair out of my bathroom!
When we first got our golden retriever I did I lot of research trying to figure that out too. I believe the general consensus was anything between six weeks to three months anything more than that is too often and isn’t healthy for their coat. We typically get our groomed every 6 to 8 weeks
I love how happy he is at the end! I have been professionally grooming in NH for 10 years, it fun to watch someone else groom because I was on my own right out of school! Thanks for the content! Do you think there is a lack of professional groomers , I think there is in NH??
I did purchase your shampoo, face wash, de- shedding conditioner, spritz, and towels. I love the smell of my Golden when I was done. However I can not afford to get the forced dryer so it takes me a while to dry him with a hair dryer. I can never seem to get his Pants to look that silky soft, he always has a weird texture. One question, how do you get the tail cut? I couldn't find the other video & this one is different.
I went to Merryfield grooming it's a great school. The only reason why I did not continue is that too many groomers as a salon and the owners already are set w/ that groomer. It's really tough out there, and I had 2 kids to support that time. I needed a paycheck to pay the bills. The only way is to have my own mobile grooming, and that costs a lot, especially the custom-made ones.
Would you say this type of grooming drastically helps shedding? We have our first golden and hes around 9 months and the shedding is about to drive us insane. I knew he would shed but I never imagine it would be this bad. Looking for any advice.
Amy,love your Work! I also use the Kenchi Flash and of course I have your Shears- love them! I'm just curious if you have employees.. more of a groomer business question! If so how do you not curb the enthusiasm and talent of one you are training, but also who challenge you with "what I watched on you tube" or " I bought this product with my own money". I absolutely love this person for their ideas and excitement and they are TALENTED- but they act like it's their shop. I get taking control but I do not want to take away their talent. If I'm asking the wrong question or person I sincerely apologize. I want them to be a wonderful part of the grooming world with or without me but they have to be respectful and a team player. Any thoughts? Also I shared about 20 plus videos of yours over the shut down ....I wanted to make my own but you nailed it :). Thank you

Poor guy! Has to loose like 30 pounds! I hate when owners do this to an animal! A Golden Retriever is a hunting dog and has to be fit for work! This one can only waddle a few steps! What a shame!!! 😡
Amy do you think a deshedding shampoo is worth it? Im a groomer and ive always just used the normal dirty dog shampoo on double coated as I really don’t understand the science behind them. But in your experience do they make a difference? Thanks in advance
Great question! To be honest, I do not feel de-shedding shampoo's make a difference however, I do feel de-shedding conditioners make a big difference. One of my favorites is the coat handler undercoat control and the sunguard by nature's specialties both make de shedding a breeze:)

Dog tail wagging throughout is adorable
I did not know how much went into properly grooming a golden. Such helpful info as I research for potentially adding one to our family. Thank you.
The absorber towel is such a help. We use it when our dogs swims, and it saves so much hassle and laundry !
I'm only about a minute into the video and had to pause to make a comment about how adorable it is that the time is sped up and your dog's tail is wagging at the speed of sound like a super happy golden

You link Quicker Slicker as the brush out spray but that’s Crown Royal you have in your hand.
I bury quicker slicker by the gallon and use an old crown royal spray bottle to refill it on. I actually like both products by the way.

The end caps of the feet adjust to stablize.
Can a slicker brush cause slicker burn easily?? I am learning and I want to know how to use it properly without harming tha dog!
Yes indeed if you are not brushing properly.
I was learning you only deshed dogs in the bath for best effect on coat. When do you recommend dry deshedding before bath?
If the pup hasn't been groomed in a while and has a very compacted coat, do you still prebrush?
Yes, with a brush out spray
