    This video introduces the basic principles of separation of oil-in-water emulsions. These principles are based on different densities of liquids and their properties - immiscibility. The density of water is approximately 1000 kg/m3, and the density of various types of oils is from 870 to 970 kg/m3. Therefore, using the time factor and their properties, it is possible to divide the emulsion into two corresponding dissimilar liquids.

    Hi, help me to understand why it is that oil get flow to the 2nd chamber instead of staying in the 1st chamber.

      Hi. In the first chamber we have emulsion with high velosity and in the second chamber we have more calm situation, there is a splitting liquids.

    I want to know what happens when the oil/emulsion levels drop does it also flow with the water or what happens?

      Hello. The emulsion level will drop to the interface level, the phase separation will stop and the oil and water flows will stop.

      Hi. I advise you choose your own dimensions for your velocity and you can use only the dimensions ratio from my picture. Regards
