I am so with you, Kevin. The pile starts basically when we book. Then, about a month out, I start with the toiletries, then shopping for whatever we are missing. My husband jokes that I sometimes enjoy the anticipation of a trip as much as the trip itself.
I 100% feel exactly this! I am going to Disney World for the first time in less than 3 weeks, and I am starting to feel those pre-Disney trip excitement jitters! Planning is half the fun
I already have my "packing pile" started for our trip to Disney World at the end of May. Staying at BLT for 5 days after having to cancel 3 trips due to Covid. We were booked earlier this year but once the CDC said that those of us who are fully vaccinated can travel with minimal risk to ourselves I am getting really excited.

After a year of booking the perfect mom/daughter trip to Disneyland and having our trip cancelled and rebooked and cancelled again...and our DL AP’s “retired” we are sooooo looking forward to our WDW trip in 61 days! I also am addicted to planning our WDW vacations. Last year was a great disappointment as our trip was to take place July 2020 but was canceled. Can’t wait to go in October 2021
I am going for NINE full days in September - I have already made a packing list, changed my flight three times - each time to get there earlier - took and extra day vacation just so I can get there a day earlier - made my InstaCart grocery list (several times) and I am already shopping for things to wear! I do not want to wish time away but I wish I was there!
I had an amazing girls' trip with a couple of friends to Florida the other week. Spent a day at Epcot and a couple days at Disney Springs along with time in St. Augustine, Orlando, and Tampa. Finally got to try those amazing Gideon's cookies everyone goes on about. It was such a needed vacation and we had an amazing time!
My husband and I just watched this episode and he laughed and pointed at me when you were discussing planning packing. That’s me in a nutshell, right down to the LL Bean bag. We have a WDW trip planned for September. Some things will be new and a bit unfamiliar and some things will be comfortable, like staying at Dreams Villas.
Planning helps keep me going between vacations. We are going to Disney for a resort stay in September and planning started two weeks ago. But the planning for our Alaskan cruise in 2022 has started too. I do think I drive my husband nuts with it though. With just a resort stay there is not as much to plan but I will take it for the first trip since 12/2019.
Love this!!! We have a home in Windermere where two of our kids live (they’re cast members). It’s been awful not seeing them for more than a year! Now, we’ll be fully vaccinated later this week and we’ve started planning!! Early in the pandemic, we booked the Dec 2021 ABD Disneyland trip - then wondered if it would actually happen!! Now we can get excited! We’re also DVC so we’ve booked a 3 night stay at Riviera in August so we can take our kids and their girlfriends on a staycation! And we’ve booked Beach Club for a 4-night stay around New Years Eve. We are in such a great frame of mind!!
There is DEFINITELY Something about planning a trip, to Disney or otherwise, that feeds my soul!! EVERY Part of it! Like you said, down to the packing, the shopping, even something as small as ordering things online! 😂🤣 I Do the spreadsheet, pack ahead & watch RUclips CONSTANTLY!!!
Just a few months into this great unpleasantness, my mom and I planned a trip to the Galapagos for this summer. It has definitely helped us to get through this time, to have it to look forward to and plan for. I have had a packing list for so long now and am progressiively getting items for it. Now, it is a matter of waiting to see if we actually get to go.
Kevin, I do the same thing. I put stuff in a tote for my upcoming trip. Then I make a checklist and a week before the trip the suitcase is packed. I have my cruise bag packed with stuff I bought at the end of 2019 for my 1st cruise for 2020 and that bag has been sitting in my closet for over a year hopefully my Cruise in Nov will happen. Every 2 years i plan a big trip to the US from Australia. Its for my daughter and my self. We go to LA or Orlando. Love planning the trip and also love adding stuff during my trip. This year was supposed to be Disneyworld. It was my 50th, my daughters 10 and Disneyworld's 50. Not going to happen this year now though. Love your channels
I love planning and watching all the DIS Unplugged videos. I decided to try a Dreams Unlimited TA this time to help with my vacation. She responded once and now nothing. I emailed her a second time asking about a quote and still haven't heard back over a week later. I checked my junk mail everyday to make sure an email wasn't in there. I decided to try another company and had my trip booked in less than 24 hours. It is sad that I couldn't work with Dreams Unlimited.
So fun to watch. We're going to Hawaii in July as well after having to cancel our European trip for two years in a row due to border closures. Have a great time!

We don't have a Disney vacation planned, but we just booked a cabin in the Smoky Mountains in September. It was fun looking at all the cabins we could book with our Marriott points. We cancelled our trip last May, so we are really looking forward to this.
As a 60 year old Canadian solo traveller, I have been in Cape Town South Africa since the pandemic took hold of our world. I was visiting my daughter and had planned a three month trip. After a lot of thought ,I decided to stay put in my apartment here and hopefully after a few months it would be over and I could safely return home. Well....lol. I am still here. My sanity comes from exactly what Kevin was saying. For the past 14 months I have mentally been planning and packing for my trip. Down to the outfit and carry on for the plane..lol It's the joy of day dreaming and feeling excited about the "anticipation" of my next Disney trip. To you ,and all of your partner channels THANK YOU!!!!!! Thank you for bringing the joy of travel into my living room everyday . Side Note: I studied and took my travel agent exam online. I wanted to gain more than just weight during the lockdown..lol Happy Planning and Stay Safe Everyone xo
This was wonderful. We had two WDW trips canceled. Our June trip is happening! And we have already booked a cruise 🛳 for June 2022. It has been such a blessing to talk about these things and plan for our trips. We've started freshening up our wardrobes, getting new sunglasses, making reservations...all those fun things. 😎

Researching for future trips really keeps me going mentally we are locked down for another month up in Toronto Canada so with the border closed for almost a year. Researching gives me hope lol Many places on the list. It must be so strange for you guys to dismantle trips so much after years of making people happy what a switch. but lets hope vaccinations will help us all soon.

Going to Hawaii make sure that you familiarize yourself with the safe travels program and get the approved covid-19 test. I went to Hawaii in January, and I live in Maine, and the closest testing center was a three and a half hour drive from my house, so I took a zoom test. I think it's a fantastic program and you really feel safe when you're in the state but it takes extra planning ahead of time.
