If it was a meaty then v-shift absolutely has to be invincible on frame 1 as the hitbox would already be active by the time Dan wakes up. And if that's the case then all characters in the game now officially have an invincible reversal that can be done by simply pressing two buttons.

I play pad with MK on R1 and HP on triangle. If that is the command that suits me just fine. Can't wait to try it out. And just because I am super excited for the "Danimal", using taunts as links with Dan looks like a stupid amount of fun.
Kof evade. Gotcha. I wonder if that also means kof specific combo punishes when someone evades and you read that. It would cause a back turn state and opened up combos you couldn’t do before that. CRAZY combos!!! I’m excited but I doubt capcom would do that.
It’s a SF4 backlash and a 3S parry. Most people don’t take into the account that whatever string you are inputting will come out as if you hit your opponent when they v shift. So you can’t option select a v shift the same way you can a back dash. Only a 3S parry have the same mechanic. That’s why you could bait a parry in 3S by cancel into a command grab.
@vesperarcade In that Dan example of the V-shift. Dan did a down fierce canceled into fireball. The V-shift slo-mo activated due to the Down fierce whiff, I think.
I love the changed properties on existing moves like Necalli's VT1 special move thing, only took Capcom 2 years to fix/improve the move but hey, better late than ever Can't wait to see all the other changes like if Ryu FINALLY got his crossup tatsu or if if Ed got an overhead, or if Bison's EX Psycho Inferno OTGs, dynamic and logical changes...
Cant express how great that V-Shift still triggers 'on hit' for cancels. this alone will ruin option selects. along with disrupting the chr matchups a bit (still expect 'less than ideal' matchups, but the V-Shift allows everyone at least some opportunity to steal the round/match) also with what seems like a big adjustment to the 'juggle' system, in addition to the chrs, this is the end of SFV as we know it, and will lead into a whole new competitive SFV.v! (5.5 :)
For Dan it seems he threw out a Cr. L into fireball at 11:15. The other Dan player V-Shift the Cr. L which caused the slow-motion effect and because of the invisible hitbox the link cancel into fireball still came out.
Overall, yes. V-shift is pretty much helps to avoid any sort of pressure on wake up & Blocking. Players are going to have to stop Auto-Piloting their block strings, pressure strings, & etc.

With the -2 situations it could just be like with when they have EX reversals. They could still steal their turn. So the best bet could be delay tech so even if they v shift, they won't get anything. And if you anticipate them doing a vshift into break after a -2 situation you could always counter it with yours
Doesnt have to be 3p for all but they can use the v-reversal command for each character but instead of forward you press back ... then there are no overlapping issues
What about the moves in sfv that hit twice? Like ex fireball or Chung li kicks? Does it avoid the second and third hits? Or does multiple hitting moves still connect?
I wonder if v shift can be done twice in a row to evade the opponents super or a super that has multiple hits like Ryu’s Dinji Hadoken or Guile’s Sonic Hurricanes? And will using it twice bring back a full bar since 1/2 a bar recovers with a single use?
