Hi Dave no need to turn off the petrol, the tank was 90% full on this occasion, the line must have a spring loaded valve in it, there are two connections of this type on the bike, I think one must be a feed and the other a return, thanks for commenting, John

John, do you have to turn off the petrol or is it cut by disconnecting the fuel line?
