Becauss its actually better to use while driving, on a touch screen you have press a digital buttons to do something, on the touch pad you press right, down, down, left, press etc. , after a while of using you just remember the interface in your head and can use it without looking, you can't do that on a touchscreen, rotors are considered safer for the same reason, you can use them without taking your eyes off the road car journalists will always complain till they actually living with one as a daily.
I can’t believe in the 1980s Lamborghini sold the Countach with a coke mirror as standard equipment and in 2021 Lexus decided to do the same thing on their compact crossover 🤣
I'm not sure why Lexus has insisted on that touch pad for the last few years. Maybe that's why RX drivers are always all over the road and I have to dodge them 🤔
Why oh Why didn’t Lexus update their 2021 model year!! That infotainment should not be in a so-called “luxury” car. It’s horrid, something out of 2016 and that pad is awful. Also, why can’t they just make it a touchscreen for 2021? It’s not like it’s some newfangled technology. Christ, they’ve had years and years to heed the response of complaints and change it to a touchscreen, but instead of developing a simple touchscreen they kept their useless touchpad that was reviewed as terrible to use literally the year it came out. Inexcusable, and I enjoy and likes everything else that Lexus does! It’s the infotainment that’s always the drawback
Quit simply nope 😞 I think it’s safe to say that genesis has essentially ended Lexus since Lexus is uncompetitive these days. It’s only a matter of time until they wipe Lexus off the face of the earth. The GV80 I guarantee eats the next generation RX which we haven’t even seen yet. And the GV70 kills the next gen nx which isn’t even out yet. Oh well Lexus 😔. You had a good run but you’ve been outclassed. As the common saying goes, “you’ll be missed, but eventually forgotten” 😞
The lack of a touchscreen is a deal breaker every time. No touch pad or dial is faster, safer, or more intuitive than a simple touchscreen. Lexus knows this now and they are finally rolling out touchscreens in most new models. Sadly, a few manufacturers still don't get it.
Wrong on all accounts. Anyone that knows anything about UX knows that buttons and dials are superior to touchscreens in cars since you don't need to take your eyes off the road. There is only one reason manufacturers use touchscreens, cost.
