Best part of all of this is that A1 Mike and A1 Cycles are STILL out here in NC running a successful shop and still putting on AWESOME drag races!! (we went to a race day he put on just 4 weeks ago and it was an AWESOME day) He has probably the best reputation for a shop in the entire southeast...and he DESERVES it!
@1stgenstreetglide509 but the winner keeps their vehicle and has a signed title. By that logic they could back out and end up in the same situation minus owning the other vehicle. Therefore signing your own title means nothing until a new owner signs it.
It was a tv show. They did a lot of stuff along with editing to add extra drama. Most people don’t really know how signing and transferring a title really works. But, the feeling is by them signing the title it’s dramatic and shows they’re really putting it on the line.
I have an EVO and I'd like to take it to the dragstrip because it runs its ass off I just thought my Sportster was fast doesn't hold a candle to this !
Yep. Even though torque is a really big deal with drag racing, it’s funny how much it takes for a big twin to beat a stock 4 cylinder with a decent rider. There’s lots of stock sport bikes that run mid-low 10’s all day long.
@@NBSV1 Some of that is because a sportbike weighs 100's of lbs less.....takes a LOT less torque to get less weight into motion. Also a sportbikes powerband starts at 7k rpm, where a harley it starts at 2 -2.5k rpm....thats why the Harley will get them out of the hole most of the time but the sportbikes real them in pretty quickly...
@@redrider0151 Something like a Harley can often get out of the hole better because of the balance and wheel base. Unless you extend them sport bikes are very limited because they wheelie so easy. Takes a lot to make a Harley power wheelie. Most of the big twins are also much larger displacement which will naturally give them more low rpm torque. 1200cc's is big for a sport bike, but on the small side of big twins. Even with stuff like top fuel and pro stock motorcycles the twins get a big displacement advantage just so they're competitive. Which has basically led to them dominating most of the time.
@@giancarlolugo9586 Those end up somewhat of a blend between an inline 4 and the big twins like harley. They're typically similar displacement to the sportbike I4 engines so you can't expect massive torque numbers. But, often they do produce a little more torque and a little less peak hp. Also generally make power a little lower in the rpm range. That's the distinction of something being a big twin. Engines like what harley uses are very different from even traditional sportbike v twins. They're typically much larger displacement with a very long stroke which makes for good torque. But, they tend to suffer on high rpm power because the design is difficult to really get it to breathe well.
If only all racers acted like these two. Awesome episode!
Now these guys are what racing is all about.
Definition of true gentleman and great teams.

Why would they both sign their titles if only one gave it up. This show was ridiculous.

It’s good fun. See if there’s a nearby track and they often have open test and tune nights where you can pay a fee and just make runs.
But who’s the toolbox without the shirt on? What a skeezball
Nothing screams like a 4 banger.....twins are for torque....only so much you can do with torque.
Jap high rpms equal power
