Loved the Barbary Coast. It was a special place on the strip for sure! Who could forget Big Elvis? A very nice guy! I have not been to the Cromwell. The last time I was in Las Vegas (2006) it was Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon
Ah, the old Barbary Coast, one of Mchael Gaugahns first hotels, had a great mentor in his father, Jackie. They had great service there, I remember Big (Pete Vallee) Elvis singing at the casino Bar, there, it was always full, very entertaining. The place is small, but it seemed very cozy, now it's not bad but it seems colder, more institutional, a bit less friendly. Great stuff guys, thank you very much Dale, thank you very much Paula, you two are the best!
I miss the Barbary Coast! It was a great casual place. We used to grab a couple hotdogs in the casino and then see Big Elvis perform and now breakfast costs almost $80. Cromwell isn’t my kind of place, but it was nice to see what it’s like.
So nice of fellow Canadian Shae to gift you a stay at The Cromwell!!!! And the breakfast at Giada’s looked absolutely delicious 😍 Also, I’m not a big sweets person, but I do like Coffee Crisp and I had NO idea that they didn’t have them in the USA! Scott and I will have to bring you another bag of Coffee Crisp chocolate bars when we come back in December ❤️
Our Chicago Brother in Law took daughters suggestion yrs ago for wife's BD : $800 with Bellagio view and light dinner and wines. Good thing he won $800 back in the casinos on the Strip!
I used to love staying at both the old Barbary Coast and Bill's Gamblin' Hall. Right on the Strip, clean rooms, $9.99 sirloin steaks, cheap prices (I once stayed 6 nights for $150 total!), and Big Elvis in the lounge! Those were the days.
A great video of the latest in Las Vegas from you this morning, and then tonight it will be a look back at Vegas history in a new episode of CNN's series, "Vegas: The Story of Sin City." What a combo! 😀
Hey friends 👋👋! We almost stayed at The Cromwell once… but Walt changed it at the last minute … imagine that … Walt changing his mind 🤷♀️😂! We always like to dip into the Casino on a hot day walking the strip to cool down with some slot play and great AC 😅! Giada’s looks quite elegant 👌! Absolutely can’t wait to check out Ole Red on the Strip! What great nostalgic gifts… so sweet🥰! Hope you guys have a great week! Love and miss you both! ❤️
My first ever stay and gamble was at the Barbary Coast!! I often wish when properties go through their remodels and such that the new version keeps some rooms and features as they were under the old. I'd check into a throwback/vintage room for sure.
What a wonderful gift to you both! . Thanks for showing us the sights and sounds. We will check out ole red on our next visit! Stay well, best to you both❤❤
We have so many great memories of the Barbary Coast. Loved playing $5 craps! Thanks and I really enjoy your vlogs. P.S. I had to look up the recipe for those lemon smashed potatoes. They look yummy and I hope to make soon.
Another great video as always! Will never forget Big Elvis at the Barbary Coast. Also remember Dale at WW Ho where I went four times a year to their events like HoWaian Luan and Grubsteak, & loved shaking hands with Hans Dorweiler afterwards.. Dale and Paula=BULLETIN for your Keno Players. We recently drove 12 hrs. to Harrah's New Orleans on an offer, only to learn that the STATE OF LOUISIANA has outlawed all Keno. (they said its too much like Bingo) We did stop halfway in Tunica, MS which still has Keno. I played a ton of four card last May in Harrah's NO, after our river cruise but all Keno has been ripped out since then. Will always remember our brunch with Paula at Encore Jardin. All our best, Jim and Becky
I’m going to have breakfast at Giada. It looks wonderful. I always stay in that general area but never go into the Cromwell. Thanks for the tour. 36 days and counting 🎊 🎉
Really love the intimate Cromwell casino and the super friendly staff there. If you're looking for a cocktail prepared with old school flair, the Bound Cocktail Lounge is a must!
I love these recent staycations you guys have been doing! They are informative and entertaining! I love the rooms at Cromwell! They are so swanky and romantic looking. I wish they were a better price range and I also wish there were more options for both gambling and food at the Cromwell. I think that's why I have never stayed, but this vlog definitely has us reconsidering our thoughts. Thanks so much, you guys are great and hope to cross paths in Vegas with you someday! We will be there in June so who knows, maybe we will catch one another!
I may prefer MGM properties, but man, what Caesars is doing with Horseshoe and Grand Bazaar Shops is pretty awesome. Also, thanks Harry for sending and sharing the Tropicana mementos!
Another great video as always! And congratulations on your keno winning streak.. here's a new video idea! How about a four-cardino instructional video?
I am originally from Montreal, Canada and Coffee Crisp is my favorite candy bar. I can find them sometimes in Specialty Candy shops in the US. Missed you last week. Look forward to your wonderful videos.
Hey Dale and Paula …somehow RUclips unsubscribed me and I didn’t realize it . I was wondering why I hadn’t seen a video of yours in a long time. I’ve subscribed again so I’m happy . Great video. I’ll be at the Bellagio for a week in April so will definitely check out Ole Red . Going to miss Blake Shelton by a few days dang it . 😎😎😎
What a beautiful Sunday to start with your video! As always excellent and thank you again for your hard work cheers from M and S from Toronto 🇨🇦 …🇨🇦❤you 💕💕💕
Hubs & I frequently had breakfast at Cromwell when it was Barbary Coast - way back when they had about the only place open for food at 3 am! He raved about the decorations in the men's restroom...and was disappointed when it was "modernized". Haven't stayed in the hotel, but have always done well in their casino.
Wow! I love that room, so many chic touches. The tile job on the shower is incredible!! My husband liked gambling at the BarbaryCoast (30 years ago). Is that area where the Maxim hotel was located? We stayed there. Love your channel. 💕
My all time favorite place to stay in Las Vegas was The Barbary Coast. Stayed there countless times. Don't think I'd care to stay at the Cromwell, however. Just not my vibe anymore.
We stayed on a Sunday night, so Drai’s didn’t have anything going on the rooftop. We left that bathroom window open all night, and honestly all that bothered us were the occasional police sirens going by on the Strip! 🤪
We absolutely love all your videos. How do you guys feel about Water Street in Henderson? you Must try the Triple B Dinner @ the Rainbow Club Casino! Best service and Great Food at the best rates, must try it!
This is Paula - yes!!! Water Street is on my short list, I think it would be very fun, interesting, and different content…sort of like we did recently with the Southwest Las Vegas vlog. Stay tuned!
How was the noise level from Dra's nightclub in your room? I have heard from others that you can hear it well into your rooms and late. What was your experience? Thank you
Well, we stayed on a Sunday night, and Drai's didn't have anything going on - so we can't really speak to that. We did leave that bathroom window open all night, and the distant sounds of traffic from the Strip was kind of restful. :)
This is Paula - we called it that because the water reservoir only holds one cup’s worth. There are larger models (especially the older ones) that hold far more. I write the scripts, so you can blame me…
We stayed on a Sunday, so Drai’s didn’t have anything going on that night. We left the bathroom window open all night, and all we heard were distant traffic sounds - actually nice for sleeping.
This has been discussed elsewhere by other Cromwell guests, so I will ask. Did you notice that you can see into the shower from the bedroom? It is supposedly a tricky two way mirror to provide extra decadence. In my case, the view would be less than optimal. Lol
@@otrebla8944 No 😩I LOVE Excalibur! It was the first place I stayed in Vegas right after it opened. I would love to see someone bring it back to its original glory.

We LOVED Big Elvis! We saw him on our anniversary one time and he sang to me. He sounds so much like the real Elvis. Miss those days.

The Barbary had an amazing Chinese menu in the coffee shop!
My daughter and I used to play nickel draw poker, grab a hot dog, and listen to the live bands. Ah....those were the days.
