    Saw the thumbnail, and I immediately thought of Gerry Faust.

      Well he is an easy one to pick but the others I have listed are worse than he was at ND.

      Faust actually had some big wins at ND. He would beat an LSU or Michigan then lose to Air Force.

    One of the Good things that happened at Notre Dame under Gerry Faust was the 13 game unbeaten streak against USC started during his tenure. From1983-1995 ND was 12-0-1 vs Southern Cal.

    Gerry Faust wasn't as bad as he was made out to be. I think he's a victim of the shock of it all. It would be the equivalent of the Mater Dei football coach jumping to USC. Faust headed a power house HS program, but it that he jumped to Notre Dame that gets all the attention. Notre Dame was coming off a National Championship in recent years. Who were the other candidates? I'm sure even in 1980s, Lou Holtz would have jumped to join Notre Dame.

      @WrongedSports  19 дней назад

      Thanks for watching, Faust came in before the 1981 season and Holtz was at Arkansas and they weren't gonna let him go yet. I think Gerry wasn't that had either but ND in the 1970s were great as they won 2 national titles and never finished with a losing record or mediocre records like Faust. Faust just couldn't pass up the opportunity to coach ND so I understand that

    I knew there had to be Coach Kelly and Presbyterian somewhere in this video. That documentary started great but then just got more and more depressing haha

      Did that documentary answer or find out why he took the Presbyterian job? Cause that is my big wonder, he could have chosen any FCS or hell any D2 school and had more scholarship help and more funds than Presbyterian had

      @@WrongedSports no idea why, but yeah without scholarship help that conference is usually the punching bag of FCS

      I'm sure someone would be able to stop his offense eventually, but with Bama talent it would take a while. Thanks for watching!

    Kevin Kelly: His bizarre way of doing things reminds of a basketball example, Paul Westhead. Westhead was actually a head coach in the NBA for three years in the early 1980s and then took the head coaching job at Loyola Marymount in California in 1985. He instituted a run and gun offense that averaged 110-122 points a game ( the last still an NCAA record) during the years 1988-1990. The team intentionally did not play defense allowing teams to shoot the ball at will so they could then get the rebound or in bound pass ( after the other team scored) and then rush back up to the other end of the court. The team almost made the final four in 1990 but it also known for one of its' players dying of a heart attack on the court ( Hank Gathers. There was no fault at all on the school or the coach) during that 1990 tournament run. Westhead later tried the same offense ( and no defense philosophy) in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets and George Mason in the NCAA but had no success.

      Thanks for watching. The ESPN doc they did on Loyola's 1990 was great by the way. But I remember Westheads offense for Denver in the NBA and it was nuts. But you can't be full court pressing all game, pros are not gonna do that lol. But I know he and a former player tried the offense at Oregon with the women's team and didn't go over too well either.

      If Loyola-Marymount played in a top basketball conference they don't have that sucess.
