@RUclipsChillZone Hey, I don't know. EA seems to me did change, somewhat. Still too early to say, but most of the stuff they did last couple of years actually shows something I believe we want companies like Ubi or Blizzard to do. Their remasters for C&C, Mass Effect and Dead Space were great, reasonably priced, with all DLC and they showed renewed love and reverence for their legacy. When did Ubi or Blizzard do a good remaster that was worth something? Even Mirage's gameplay is nothing compared to AC1 and they did try to bring back the weapons from AC1 to emulate the first game, and yet, same weapons and movement set as almost the 20 years old game and the old one still plays a hell lot better. With the new Dragon Age, now it seems it is popular to hate it, but I don't know. Everyone who played it liked it, like really liked it. The team got one whole year to polish the game. They could add day one DLC but decided to put the whole game out there without blocking anything behind paywall. They actually price it reasonably - compare it to Ubi for the slop they serve. Full polished game for 60 bucks? That is unheard of nowadays. I think EA is trying. I think their marketing team sucks, no way about it, but from the reactions of the actual team behind the game, they care not for politics, they understand what players want. So, I want to believe The Veilguard will be actually really good. I want to give it a chance. Not blindly, but because EA showed love to my most favorite games of all the time in the last couple of years and it was well worth it. Will it be slop? It might be. But it honestly seems to me that EA is trying where other companies are just blaming gamers and don't care about their creation. And when EA is trying to reach gamers, they are hated. I get it, they deserve it, but at the same time, if a company tries to change, are we able to give them a chance? I want the next DA and mostly the next Mass Effect to be good. I'm still dreading The Veilguard, but I will try it after all the reviews from people who got to try it. To form my opinion, if the company is really trying, or they are just lying without really trying.
I'm still playing games that are 7-10 years old, why? because they have amazing gameplay and don't have a stupid agenda forced into their games. simple or so you would think.
The sad truth is that the development of games stopped somewhere around 2010 and everything after that was just a copy. Later, there were some good titles here and there, but they were so few.
I have concluded that the owners and CEOs of these studios are cowards. They cannot stand up to the activists they hired and are now eating the cost. The fact that so many indie game studios are kicking the living crap out of AAA studios tells you all you need to know about the reality they are trying to spin.
It's not that they don't want to stand up to activists, but that these CEOs hire them on purpose because they believe in it. @@XkX- Yeah love is great, but what they need is money. It has to sell well when it's new and full price. I bought Days Gone when it had been out like 3 years and I paid 12 bucks for it. The egos at these media companies are out of control! They never accept anything they make could possibly be bad. It MUST be toxic fans or review bombs. No criticism could possibly be valid. They'll never learn to improve with that attitude and will ultimately all fail.
I love it when they say rubbish like this, if the modern audience is as big as they say where are they, why didn't they buy millions of copies also didn't ubisoft say the usual thing of if you don't like it don't buy it.
I thought “gamers” were just a small part of the consumer base, and that “gamers” are the toxic minority? So where was the non-toxic majority supporting this game?

For the current price of games there is an expectation of good quality gaming experiences. It isn’t just Ubisoft but many AAA studios seem to release games on their deadline whether it is finished or not. It is all part of spending vs profit. The longer you pay people to work on the project after the deadline the more money you lose. Deadlines are set at the man-hour spending budgets end. If it goes beyond that every minute cuts into profits. The solution, unfortunately is to extend deadlines with a larger budget which, in turn demands a higher cost to consumers for the game. It is kind of a messed industry. Smaller budget Indy games with a good story or just a fun concept seem to be the best bet for both sides.
I miss the golden age of Star Wars games from the early 2000s. I still play some of them to this very day. Many so called 'modern' games are just not worth the time or money.
My expectation is to get what I pay for. If I'm going to pay $70 - $160 USD for a game, the story, mechanics, and graphics had better be damn near perfect. There are literally $20 - $30 Indie games in my steam library that I feel I underpaid to own just because of how good they are.

We had absolutely ZERO expectations because a lot of us have already turned our backs on Ubisoft, the only thing that has changed is that everyone else has finally given up now.
The CEO is and has been extremely out of touch and even displayed contempt for his customers. I can't wait until they go under, fvck Ubisoft.
Helps if the game isn't broken when its sold at full price.
Aren't they getting tired of using the same excuse everytime? It's NEVER the fans fault something fails.
