  • In this video we unbox and try out the newest addition to the garage and try to expand the things we can do in house. This is an unboxing video and an honest first try at using this central machinery powder coating system sold at harbor freight. Let's see what kind of results we can get the first time around.

    If you like granite, mix white and black 50/50. Thanks for the content.

    Cool little video man . Think as you put the air pressure down a little you'll get better results

      Yeah I messed with the reg on the compressor itself and came out a little better. I'll get it dialed in ty for the comment

      I had it on less then 10 psi. I got it working pretty good since then. I ended up upgrading to a Eastwood gun.....way better

    I do powdercoating on the side, and many problems here matt..lol
    Pressure is way to high, your to close to the part , and that gun sucks lol😂 best bet is to return it and buy eastwood dual voltage for like extra $25 it's 100x better and the low setting allows you to get in tight spots and finish comes out like glass

    Great video! What pressure worked the best and is the powder coated surface durable?

    • @garagemcmatt
      @garagemcmatt  4 месяца назад +1

      10-15 psi and the durability is all in the prep and the quality of the powder you use. But yes it's holding up well

      @@garagemcmatt 10-15 PSI. Eastwood gun, Prismatic powder is the best. Sand blast part first, then soak in acetone for 15 minutes, then degass by baking at 450 for 45 minutes, then soak in acetone again for 15 min, then with new gloves use hi-temp silicone tape tape for any taping also plugs. preheat oven to 225, preheat part. hang or place on rack then coat. place in oven at 425 for 45 minutes or whatever Prismatic spec sheet recommends. That's how you get pro results!

      @darrynruzicka2883 I switched to the Eastwood gun since this video and the results are night and day

    I think hanging the part instead of laying it flat would also help a lot

    • @garagemcmatt
      @garagemcmatt  Год назад +3

      I'm gunna try it with some springs next and hang those. This part I didn't want any powder on the bottom

    • @ALDA2479
      @ALDA2479 Год назад +1

      @GarageMC Right I personally never done it but I have watched it be done few times and I was told they hang it because it allows for a mist more then a blod basically and allows for all the excess to be able to settle to the ground rather then build up the piece of course these aren't the exact words I'm looking for but sometimes I'm semi slow

      Same here. I just went to the Eastwood dual voltage gun. Way way better and it's only $130
