Listen ladies I know being a truck drivers wife is hard. I live it every day and it's even harder when you have children. But if you love your trucker stand beside him no matter how hard it is. What has gotten me through is listening to gospel music and reading my bible. I know what I do is not for everyone but if that man didn't love you then he wouldn't be out there risking his life on that road to make sure your bills are paid and you have food on the table. Stand beside your man and be strong for him.

I'm a truck drivers wife..I've also worked as a dispatcher and have witnessed marriages shred over a payphone in our lobby..the pain is real..both ways. It takes a hell of a woman/man to live this life. The strongest support a driver has is his co-pilot at home.. love and support your drivers people.. it's not a game....

it is definitely very challenging to be either a truckers wife or a trucker. my husband went over the road for years ago and it's one of hardest thing to deal with but the worst is when you have to say good after bening on home time. but he is doing the best he can for us and we love him for that wish he could be home every night but until then I will just be another truckers wife praying for his safe return

This makes me wanna cry! I unfortunately was selfish thinking being with a truck driver was too hard when you got little ones at home. But over years of being apart and the children got older, I realized no matter what I still love my truck driver. We got back together and we are happy. It ironically took me to get my CDL to realize you guys work hard and need a great deal of patience yourself.

things that come to mind when i hear this: While on the road my wife has ended up in the emergency room, my dog of 12 years died and i didnt get to say good by, my mother in law died and my wife was home alone to deal with it, my son cant stand me and thinks a trucker is a low class life, and many other things happened that i should of been home to deal with...but the bills need paying. my wife wants a nice house, my kid wants a nice car and nice things.....
so here i am running the roads.....
were else can someone with my skill level bring 50k a year home after all taxes and expenses? working 2 weeks out the month?
    but they still complain....
I can relate to this song.

Listen to your songs a lot. Some make me laugh, some make me miss my trucker even more, some bring tears, while others bring smiles but they are all great! Been a truckers wife for 23 years and he has been driving for 35. It is a hard life on both sides and takes two strong trusting people to survive it. I cannot imagine a driver calling home and being told this but know it happens and too often. I raised our kids and became a fix it all person while he earned a living and missed so much with them and me. I know he has it a lot harder OTR inside that truck with nothing but the radio and putting up with all that goes with the job. We spend a lot of time on the phone. I spend a lot of nights on the phone all night while he drives to keep him company. I love when he comes home and immediately start dreading leaving time. I never know if it will be the last time I get to hold him and tell him I love him when he climbs in that truck and drives away. It is a very hard and lonely life and even more so for me now that the kids are grown and gone. I look forward to the day he can walk through that door and tell me hung the keys up for the last time! Until then I will keep the home fires burning and wait for home time. Fully support your driver! It is not a life for whiners! Be willing to give your all and then some for your driver.

I spend alot of nights laying alone crying and praying for his safe return. But I have to realize he was in love with the highway before he was me. #truckdriversqueen

I have been trucking for the past fifteen years. I used to do 400 to 600 a day and still made it home every night. It gave me to much time to be alone with my thoughts so I went on to do local P&D. I'm still gone from home about fourteen hours a day but it's easier on me.. "well kinda" Your songs about the road really touch home.. I'm glad to have a great woman that stands by me while I do what I love.. My son is twenty now and over seas serving our country.. Hated missing so much with him while I drove.. Like I said.. Your songs or the way you sing them just lets me know how lucky I am.. Thanks. God this songs hits so deep and can't imagine trucking back in my dad's time when you had to find a payphone just to make a call but even with cell phones nowadays and being able to video chat is just as bad in my opinion, you get to hear and see your love ones but not able to be with them is what hurts the most. I've been through countless girlfriends & a few wife's and I'm not even in my thirties but thankfully I've not had kids and put them through barely seeing them and being raised by there mom.

I drove a truck for 33 years and due to health issues I had to retire in 2016. I had a great life on the road my wonderful wife of 30 years passed away in May of 2012 from cancer, it was a HUGE loss for me as well as our son and daughter but we made it. Had I had known what was coming I would have left the road alot sooner but you never know. She understood my life and was a great support. Brothers and Sisters on the road stay safe and remember to stay in touch with those you love.. God Speed, Dennis Shulaw aka: Graywolf.

Dang near quit my job the other day. This song Hit like hell for me a few days ago. was sitting in Billings montana waiting for the truck to get fixed and got a call my dad ended up in the hospital. (Fyi he is doing way better). My girlfriend has a few mental health problems she is dealing with and Im unable to help her or be with my dad. I love the road but I am not loving this feeling. I got the truck fixed and was talking to my girlfriend and she asked where I was stopping. When I said if i hurry I can make Cheyenne it HIT and hit hard. I could not believe what I said and just the thought of her leaving hit bad. I love this version of The song Brad James, you Did wonderful on it

Even us home every day drivers live thru this. I work 3rd shift 13 hours a day. As soon as I get home I have to go to bed and the old lady works an opposite shift. My driving career has ruined alot, but I'm addicted to grabbing the gears, and seeing those white lines go by. It's all I know.

Wow what an amazing voice. Love the songs. I was a 3rd generation trucker until a bad accident took me out. I am married to a man who took over my job, he is 26 years invested, and now my 23 year old son decided to drive, he is 2 years in. It is not an easy life. However if you are willing to stick it out through the good times. Bad times, and everyday stresses you can make anything work. We have been married 30 years. The only thing I would have changed was the accident that took me off the road. I miss my old pete and the places I traveled, back when women were not really accepted to kindly. It never took my love of the road away from me. I sure do miss the bad coffee and late nights. I send a prayer every night to all the truckers out there trying to make a living and keep a hold on their families. Be safe out there and know that you are appreciated for every trailer you haul and every minute you put in to those long hauls, lonely nights, dangerous roads, and dealing with 4 wheel jerks. My oldest daughter is a state trooper for my state, and I call her the highway angel. She tends to look out for you truckers a little more when you're passing through Indiana because of me and our long line of truckers. God Bless each and everyone of you. May God be your co-pilot and you make it home to see you're families. Sincerely, Patty Finn.
