I can agree but for some reason I dont like their front ends usually. That being said, I typically look at the interior over the exterior and that's why I went with a subaru cause within the last 5 years they have greatly improved their interior and I feel like they are just a cheaper version on volvos wagons. Wish the legacy wagon would come back out.

@@mitchellthurner5980 Unfortunately that line of thinking is part of why we have so many SUVs now. The reality is that if we all drove cars, collisions would be safer than if we all drove SUVs. And actually, theres not even good evidence that SUV passengers fair better than car passengers in a collision between the two. It's really just ignorance and selfishness driving the SUV trend, fueled by effective advertising from the manufacturers.

I picked the V90 cc and I do have the heated steering wheel and air ride. I like the fact that the car senses the outside temp and turns the steering wheel heat on when it's appropriate. (set on low) I also like that I can control almost anything (music, interiors comfort i.e. seat heat, temp, etc. and navigation all through voice commands. With my heads up display, it's literary eyes on the road, hands on the wheel all the time.

Nice review guys! We couldn’t decide between the two, so we bought one of each. 😉 We have the Polestar tune on the V90 T6 RD only, so Dad has a little more midrange kick to play with. The cars are great, and a great value after Volvo’s usual discounts, but they would be perfect with the old T6 3.0L straight 6 turbo. That engine in my old V60 RD was so much more alive/fast! Btw, our cars on 20” rims are very comfortable, and they still look big/good.

Love watching the show. I currently own a v90 cross country. Traded in my xc90 inscription launch edition for it. Took Christmas trip with family from CT up to Mont Tremblant in the V90. The car was exceptional on the highway and was awesome in blizzard like conditions we encountered while driving thru adirondacks.... the drive assist is top notch......Volvo with current engine line up and architecture now represents best value in luxury space. Makes for great luxury ride, however performance is a 6 out of 10 for most t6 models.... I’ll be trading this in next year for the new Ford Explorer ST. A little more room.. a little more performance....captains chairs... when you guys have kids you’ll understand.....why Land Rover doesn’t offer them in the disco is a disgrace......

The "Chrome Rings" theme is basically an exact recreation of the gauges from older Volvos, think anything from the P2 platform (1st-gen S60 and the matching V70/XC70/XC90). They look dated on purpose, weirdly. Basically the only exception to cars in the 2001-2008 era having these gauges were the S60R/V70R and then later cars with the R-Design packages.

We looked at getting one of these, and we were really pumped, but then I searched Consumer Reports and saw their reliability. Googled up and read on some forums some horror stories of vibrations, we ended up getting a 17 land cruiser, but we really wanted this car. One horror story I read a guy had purchased this car, and had been driving a loaner for 3 months as they couldn't figure out the vibration location. I had assumed Volvos were like they were in the 80's and 90's, they just went on forever and reliability was as synonymous as their safety.

Great review! Interesting on going for the T5 vs T6. Can’t wait for the V60!
I think the direct conversion is off though. This costs about the same as in Canada prior to the conversion.

Great review - as always. The Buick all-road wagon would be a comp. as well as the Audi Allroad...

Chose the Audi Allroad (A4) and absolutely love it. Didn't try any volvos though. I just love the Audi interior.

I'm truly thinking about getting the V90 Inscription, soon. I've had a 2007 Volvo XC70 (aka V70 Cross Country) for a while, and it's time for an upgrade, and hot damn, after a test drive, the V90 is a fine automobile. Probably going to go Bronze (Pine Grey), on Brown (Maroon Seats), on Brown (Darker Wood). Wife won't let me go full brown.

VdevoV Volvo wagons have to be full brown. I had a V60 that was Ember Black, it has a bunch of brown metallic in it, with the Beechwood (tan) seats. It was a pretty car.

Battle wagon! Never heard it but I like it. Yuri a bit grouchy in this one, we all have an off day from time to time...

Have an Alltrack myself. The price to build quality ratio is out of this world. And with snow shoes it's a winter God among men.

The regular V90 is, in my option, is a work of Art. Those tyres (tires) on the Cross Country destroy the ‘Balance’ or ...Looks of the Volvo. I don’t think this new own will sell as well as the earlier Gen(s). Especially when it’s approaching $80,ooo in a S/CUV driven market. Thanks for another well done video.

Watched this video from the comfort of my XC60. Only reasons I picked it over the V90cc was the T8 engine. If they sold the cc or even v90 with the T8 engine in North America I'd have gone for that instead of the XC60.
Also I know you guys have talked about the infotainment a lot already, but I will say once you learn where everything is - it's great. I'd maybe like one or two of the features to have a hard button (360 cam), but you can rearrange the shortcuts page to have everything just where you like. The slowness is really only an issue at bootup for a couple seconds. But the time I've got my drink in the cupholder, phone plugged in, and seatbelt on - it's ready. The real complaint is that the voice recognition for nav is some of the worst I've used.

You guys stole our T8´s!! :p In Norway (and the rest of europe) XC60 T8 (that make up almost all XC60´s here) are built in Daqing, China because the trade war made it uneconomical to export them from China to the US. All the XC60 T8´s made in Sweden are exported to the US as it´s a big SUV-market.
I´m in for the V90CC though, so no hard feelings :p

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to infotainment review. My V90 XC is the t6 very similar to the one in this review. After a year, I still haven't figured out how or if I can answer/hang up the phone from the right side of steering wheel like I did with my '13 XC70. To date have had to use screen which I don't like doing. Also integration of Android auto - phone works fine but haven't figured out how to use it for navigation. The nav that came with the car is what I use and isn't as smooth as Android Auto Google. Hope you talk about these items in your review. Thanks.

I prefer the exterior en the interior color of the V90 Cross Country Ocean Race Edition. It has a grayish plastics and a lovely orange stitching in the interior.
