Thanks for watching my videos! Make sure you read the video description will probably answer most your questions! Hope you enjoyed the Tutorial! Did you upgrade to CoinOpsX 4.5 from the Fans of saUCE? Let me know your thoughts on their build below!
The build went awesome for 4.5, twice now your videos have helped me. Subbed! Working with some Reddit users in fansofsauce to try and get Sega Genesis, NES, and SNES games on the sauce image as well. Do you know of any guides out there for editing or adjusting playlists for the 4.5? I imported the playlist and playlist_art for NES and SNES games and ran it through the AddOnX tool, but they still only show under CoinOpsX. I tried naming the playlist and playlist_art with a 1 at the front to try and get them to show up towards the front. Either way, awesome I can get to it AddOnX, let's hope for a search feature in the future there. My dream would be to have one of these images to come with those consoles as well, but I am going to keep at it until I figure it out either way.
If I could add my 2 cents, I wasn't aware there were multiple methods of setting up USB drives to run CoinOps depending on the hardware you might not have two USB ports. I just think you should mention the methods and the reasoning behind their uses so new people to the hardware itself can understand the methods better. After setting everything up, I've copied everything back to the computer and have now set up two partitions on one USB drive and am copying everything back to the 2nd partition. It should work, but I'll find out after copying everything if I need to start from scratch after already running the AddonX tool. I have the Legends Gamer Pro Edit: I did end up having to redo the addonx tool step, took another 2 hours, but in the end it was working just fine. Thank you.
Sweet. I used a 16gb drive as the first and then the 64gb as the second though I wish I had seen another post where you use one drive and partition it to use one port vs two. I have a 4 USB dongle attached to my Legends to not lose the port and it WORKED!!

@@gstoner1 You need one flash drive with CoinopsX version 4.5 and one flash drive for tje AppsX and FlashX software. The Puck only has one USB port so I had to get a USB adapter which plugs into the port and gives me three additional ports for the puck. Then I plug usb stick 1 with flashx apps installed into one of the ports. Then my other usb stick with the CoinopsX 4.5 install into one of the other free ports. Hi! My coinops games run very pixelated. Nothing like in your video. Is there anything I’m doing wrong? I downloaded the coinops app on the machine not a flash drive. The games are in a flash drive and also run on BYOG, but super pixelated. Help!!!!
Does Coinops x let the user change the controls? I still use addon and changing the buttons looks complicated. MAME was good for customizing which button would control a direction/action. I have problems playing the Taito games Front Line and Wild Western since aiming the gun was accomplished using a unique dial that was independent of the joystick that was used for movement.
I am not able to get Flash Drive X to pop up in my settings. I've checked both pages and a lot of the sub folders and it is just not there. Has anyone experienced this or can anyone offer any advice?
Great video. I read in the coinops discord that this version had a "favorites" feature, however I didn't see that in your demo. Would that have to be in the version of coinopsx that is installed on your usb by the machine?
When you do all of these steps can you leave the flash drives in the machine the next time you boot up or is there a correct process you have to follow to make sure it works each time? The first time I did it it worked great. Then when I booted back up it said it couldn't read my flash drive and I needed to re run addonx tool.
So I followed every step in the vid but I am using a single flash drive(128gb) for my Legends Gamer Pro for which I have split into 2 partitions 24GB in the 1st and the rest in the 2nd. And when I plug my drive in I format it which formats the 1st partition then I mount the flash drive and go install COX then when I go to launch the app it says this message "No CoinOPSX file found. Any idea what could be causing the issue. EDIT: I got it working I killed all power to the device and unplugged the drive plugged it back in and turned back on power and launched it and it works!!
You can leave your drives plugged in...when you power on your machine it will automatically mount the flash drivex..just give the machine a minute to read your CoinOpsX drive and head over to the tile and launch CoinOpsX
I just bought the legend gamer pro, do I need to hack the machine first? Or just follow the video and setup 4.5 directly? Sorry, newbie and don’t want to mess up anything. But handy enough to flash my android phone. Thank you
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I was having trouble at first with the 64gb flash drive. Switched to a 128gb, it wouldn't let me download CoinopsX unless I started an arcadenet account. Realized I had to update the firmware. Now everything is working like a champ with only one flash drive.
Thanks for the video! I'm up and running, however I have no sound from any of the games when I play them. Suggestions on how I resolve? I have sound on my other games, just not from this build.
Thanks for the video PDubs. Do you know if this version saves your high scores for all games? I use version 4.2 and noticed that a lot of games don't save high scores such as Terra Cresta. Works fine for games like Commando.
If someone paid for it, they didn't get ripped off. Some people do not know how to do all the steps to get the games so paying is easier. Time is money and for some it's better to just buy a usb drive that's ready to go. I personally just downloaded them and made my own drive, but I think it's BS to say those that paid for it were "ripped off".
We can agree to disagree. There's nothing wrong with that. Personally my goal was to show folks that they can all do this for just the cost of a flash drive or two themselves. That it's fairly simple, no need to spend 10 times the cost of a flash drive. Appreciate you swinging by.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft So I found people online selling CoinopsX 4.5 on a 64gb usb drive for $35. According to you if someone paid for that they they would be "ripped off". So a good 64gb usb can cost around $12. So to pay someone $23 for their time to load all these games for you is you getting ripped off? How much is your time worth to download the files, extract the files, format the drive, load the files on the drive, and then load them with the add-on tool? Ripped off? Really? Sounds like paying someone slave wages for their services. Sounds like the exact opposite of being ripped off. Do you think car washes are a rip off because you can wash your own car for free?
@@JoeDaddyNV I don't understand the nitpicking here. Are you selling flash drives and got offended or something? I've seen listings on multiple sites not just the one you mentioned for anywhere from $30 to $100+ and I can get a flash drive for far, far, less than that. You want to buy one or sell one? Go ahead. I respect your opinion, respect mine. We can agree to disagree and move on like men and understand we won't agree with each other 100% of the time. Appreciate you hanging out.
I don’t see it as being ripped off either. I bought a cheap 4.5 based drive on eBay so I can see exactly how the format structure was set up and I figured out how to fully customize it myself. Now I have a drive with over 6000 games with customizable playlists. Though if they are selling a drive over $100 I think that is pushing it lol
@@robertadams3535 What size drive for 6000 games? Did you do two USB or partition one? Did you have to scour for the games or they came as one big batch of coinopsx goodness? Thanks everyone. Appreciate the tips. Kid of the 80's so I like these retro games

Do I need to keep both USBs inserted? If I end up wanting to add an extra game that isn't on there -- like Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes -- do I have to go through all the steps over again?
If you follow the steps in this video - yes the 2 USBs need inserted at all times. Adding more games you can do that on your PC but just need to re-run the AddOnX tool before you plug it back into the Arcade Cabinet.

Thanks for the video! :-) I ain’t too bright when it comes to stuff like this, but I have an AtGames Legends Ultimate Arcade Machine my self. @@wryker I misunderstood, I was thinking you meant for the game files (which unpacks to abou 53GB.) You're correct that the empty USB stick only needs 16GB. You can also use only 1 USB stick with 2 partitions, the first 16 GB and the rest for the game files.

This version seems even more iffy than 4.0 as far as games loading up and also bezels, even when they do. 4.5 works much better using BYOG, but you then lose all the UI bling.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Using the BYOG directory method seems 100% and using Coinops X UI about 50/50- depends on the games. All good though, since better to have them than not at all. V4 seemed more stable though.
I have a Yellow Icon with a Number 5 in the Coinops app not a Green Check mark like yours, is that normal? Every time I play offline it goes down by 1, when it reaches 0 I gotta log in online in order to make it go back to 5
So I downloaded this all night. Downloads very slow. Then in the morning it showed an error in the download box, and it had been removed from my download folded. Very seedy...
Stupid Question on CoinOpsX: If I just want like 100-200 games, can I delete all the others so I dont have to scroll through 1000s of games on menu I don't play? I am going to use a Gamer Mini if it matters.
Fantastic video and tutorial! Any chance we can get the 4 player versions of some of the games such as the simpsons, tmnt, X-men? Perhaps in version 5 maybe? New to the community here. Also do you think there will be a separate pinball build like on the pc version?
Hi Jack! Glad you enjoyed the video! For pinball I don't know what's going to happen there yet as the machine is still in its infancy. For Simpsons and xmen yes the 4 player versions can be added.
I'm at work and can't listen to the video right now. Does this show me how I can get games that I can use my Aimtrak light guns for? I bought the guns since I saw they were finally restocked, but I can't get them to work with the games I bought.
So I did the one flash drive partition trick with a 64GB drive, but wasn't able to get all the videos on (only L-Z) Is the COX partition able to be less than 16GB?
I need help!!! I must be doing something wrong but not sure what it is. I have followed the video EXACTLY. But when I get to the very end and try and launch from CoinOpsX I get a window that says "No CoinOpsX file found". I have tried multiple times and the same result each time. I don't know if this is related or not but when I use the AddOnX Tool and build the files, it goes smoothly to about the T title then suddenly ends. I DO NOT get the final screen that says "Total AddOn files: 1653...Done!" The AddOnX window closes and takes me to Windows Explorer window. without me doing anything. Does this have anything to do with why the No CoinOpsX file found occurs? If it does, how do I solve that problem? Thanks for the help!!!
I was having the same issue. First, for the AddOnX tool, mine was also crashing, stopping around the T's. I just ran it on a different pc and it worked. When I plugged in the USB back on the LUA, it gave me the same message, NO CoinopsX file found. WIth usb still plugged in, I restarted the machine. When it booted up, I saw the usb icon on the top right corner. I tried the Coinopsx application again and it loaded. Hope it works for you too.

Yes when inside a game you can hit the menu button and go to advanced configuration and tweak controls if desired
I am not able to get Flash Drive X to pop up in my settings. I've checked both pages and a lot of the sub folders and it is just not there. Has anyone experienced this or can anyone offer any advice?
Update to latest firmware
how to go inside the input mode on the all left please in first time
Hi I found a build called secret sause..but not the yippee kay yee. Is there a difference?
Great video. I read in the coinops discord that this version had a "favorites" feature, however I didn't see that in your demo. Would that have to be in the version of coinopsx that is installed on your usb by the machine?
Yes it has a favorites feature I forgot to show it off, it also has categories by hitting the x button. Favorites are y button I believe.
When you do all of these steps can you leave the flash drives in the machine the next time you boot up or is there a correct process you have to follow to make sure it works each time? The first time I did it it worked great. Then when I booted back up it said it couldn't read my flash drive and I needed to re run addonx tool.
Leave them in machine
You can partition your flashdrive to have two indexes!
How does the marquee change games ? Do the games on coin ops x save high scores permanently ?
So I followed every step in the vid but I am using a single flash drive(128gb) for my Legends Gamer Pro for which I have split into 2 partitions 24GB in the 1st and the rest in the 2nd. And when I plug my drive in I format it which formats the 1st partition then I mount the flash drive and go install COX then when I go to launch the app it says this message "No CoinOPSX file found. Any idea what could be causing the issue.
EDIT: I got it working I killed all power to the device and unplugged the drive plugged it back in and turned back on power and launched it and it works!!
Do you have to use the blank usb every time you start up and what’s the process when you want to play again after initial install
Thank you
Follow the videos
Does this installation method work with the Legends Gamer Mini? If so, there's only 1 USB port, so hopefully I only need 1 flash drive.
You can do this method and use a USB hub for 2 sticks.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I was having trouble at first with the 64gb flash drive. Switched to a 128gb, it wouldn't let me download CoinopsX unless I started an arcadenet account. Realized I had to update the firmware. Now everything is working like a champ with only one flash drive.
I just received the Gamer legends pro. Can I follow these same steps ? Would I need anything additional ?
Thanks for the video! I'm up and running, however I have no sound from any of the games when I play them. Suggestions on how I resolve? I have sound on my other games, just not from this build.
Thanks for the video PDubs. Do you know if this version saves your high scores for all games? I use version 4.2 and noticed that a lot of games don't save high scores such as Terra Cresta. Works fine for games like Commando.
I think it works the same way not many games save scores but I just set it up the other night and need to play it more myself.
Kid of the 80's so I like these retro games
trying to download the file. i am getting failed on the download. the file says part file. using firefox-megabytes and avg. how long should it take to download? i took 30 hrs.

Great video!! Big Big Big question though. So do I need to always be connected to the internet to play my single player offline roms????
I’d like to know this is well
Hi everyone - I loaded up the 4.5 version. My galaga fast fire works awesome, EXCEPT my little Galaga fighter slides left and right slowly... making it hard to dodge the bullets the bugs drop. Is there a setting to speed up the little fighter?
Do I need to keep both USBs inserted? If I end up wanting to add an extra game that isn't on there -- like Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes -- do I have to go through all the steps over again?
If you follow the steps in this video - yes the 2 USBs need inserted at all times. Adding more games you can do that on your PC but just need to re-run the AddOnX tool before you plug it back into the Arcade Cabinet.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft
Thank you so much for the reply! I was able to successfully install saUCEy Version 5.0. However, I still haven't been able to install Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I tried all the available MAME cores (2203, 2010, 2014, 2016), but still nothing. I get booted into the game, see the message "This game cannot be saved, rewinded, loaded," and get sent back to the main menu
How do you get out of Coinops and back to the ATgames menus?
Rewind button
Is there any way to turn on visual filters for games?
Yes you can add scanlines and all that while in game hit the menu button
Thanks for the great video PDubs. I got everything to work, but after 5 minutes or so of game play my ALU freezes and locks up. I have to power it off to get to work again. I've unmounted and remounted several times. I have a ALU 1.0 and I am using a 16 GB thumb drive for Flash DriveX and 64GB for COX. The ALU still freezes up in COX and AddonX after 5 minutes or so of game play. I've tried different games and it still locks up. Any help is appreciated.
I'm sorry to hear this. No clue what could cause that. Both my 1.0 and 1.1 cabinets haven't frozen up on me.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Thanks! I have since learned that my unit has the security chip error and the main board has to be replaced. I am working with @Games to get it replaced. I guess it was just a coincidence that this problem started at the same time that I started using CoinOpsX. Thanks for replying.
@@thehyperspacevault security chip? Did your replacement work fine doing everything you previously did before replacement?
@@Roadsurfer2k11 Yes, everything is working fine now. It cost me $50 for a new main board.
it wont let me format the flash drive on the arcade machine keeps saying format failed. do i need to format it first on pc? it is a used flash drive that i deleted contents off
Format it exfat or fat32 on Pc first. Also use a SanDisk flash drive those never have issues for me no clue what brand you are using.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft worked perfect thanks a lot. This is great stuff. Main reason why I bought one of these cabinets is because the modding is super easy and they stay consistent with updates and community needs and wants.
Great video, any pinball machine? Fx3? Or VPX?
It will not recognize the drive I mounted. Anyone have any tips.
I only have one flash drive on my cabinet. I don't think I can partition my flash drive on my Mac. It has to be part partitioned to work if I'm reading correctly or I can get a hub. I'm just wondering if it would just be easier to buy a flash drive already set up on eBay? Thanks in advance
I just noticed I had two flash drives, never mind and thanks for the video.
Just got legend pro will this work. As well no glitches def need this can u play in full screen or do u have to see this screensaver
Can you still format the memory stick into two particians with V4.5 similar to V4 sauce video to avoid using 2 sticks?
Yes you can.
Is there a way to scroll through your games list quicker in Coin Ops X yet? One page at a time? One letter at a time?
Yes it is in the README file and on the Reddit posts.. forget exactly what pretty sure its one of the X/Y/Z buttons to page up/page down
@@JordanGingold Yeah, I found it by just testing all the buttons. Z pages down one letter at a time, C pages up one.
Thanks for the video! :-) I ain’t too bright when it comes to stuff like this, but I have an AtGames Legends Ultimate Arcade Machine my self. I really just wanna buy a USB-stick, where all of this is already pre-installed and formatted properly, so that a noob like me could simply plug it into the machine, locate the usb-stick and launch it. Is that possible?
What size USB drive you use to plug in (the blank one)? I ask since I saw a message pop up about using one >32GB.
64GB is recommended
@@thorntonmellon I saw another vid and 16gb worked fine.Thank you for responding!
@@wryker I misunderstood, I was thinking you meant for the game files (which unpacks to abou 53GB.) You're correct that the empty USB stick only needs 16GB. You can also use only 1 USB stick with 2 partitions, the first 16 GB and the rest for the game files.
@@thorntonmellon I didn't see your video before I already bought a 64GB drive :( - Otherwise I would have bought a larger one and made 2 partitions! I connected a 4-port USB dongle and connected the small one first and then the second. Thank you!
@@wryker Glad you've got it working! I've waited almost 40 years to play Robotron properly at home (it needs 2 joysticks.) Amazing game.
Is the blank USB formatted and with what file system type?
how do you put this on the pro puck? it only has 1 usb port
Use a USB hub in that port.
This version seems even more iffy than 4.0 as far as games loading up and also bezels, even when they do. 4.5 works much better using BYOG, but you then lose all the UI bling.
I haven't encountered any big issues yet so far I'm enjoying it but haven't tried to launch all games of course
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Using the BYOG directory method seems 100% and using Coinops X UI about 50/50- depends on the games. All good though, since better to have them than not at all. V4 seemed more stable though.
Attempting this today 👌🏽😬
I have a Yellow Icon with a Number 5 in the Coinops app not a Green Check mark like yours, is that normal? Every time I play offline it goes down by 1, when it reaches 0 I gotta log in online in order to make it go back to 5
Yep that's normal have to login every 5 times
@@PDubsArcadeLoft hey thanks for the clarification, cheers!
So I downloaded this all night. Downloads very slow. Then in the morning it showed an error in the download box, and it had been removed from my download folded. Very seedy...
Question, can I use my portable ssd hard drive? Or has to be flash drive?
You can use an ssd
Stupid Question on CoinOpsX: If I just want like 100-200 games, can I delete all the others so I dont have to scroll through 1000s of games on menu I don't play? I am going to use a Gamer Mini if it matters.
If I buy a pre-made one do I just plug it in?
quick question! is worldclass bowling on it?
I believe so
Does anyone know why I dont have a "Flash Drive X" option on my gamer pro, or what the work around might be? Firmware issue?
I had to connect directly thru lan wire and update firmware.
Pdubs - can coin opsx be added to the ALU pinball cabinet too?
Hello is anyone else having trouble with the games not even being able to boot up in coin opsx?? I followed the instructions, is it the flash drives?
Are all the old Mario games on it
Yes

Fantastic video and tutorial! Any chance we can get the 4 player versions of some of the games such as the simpsons, tmnt, X-men? Perhaps in version 5 maybe? New to the community here. Also do you think there will be a separate pinball build like on the pc version?
Hi Jack! Glad you enjoyed the video! For pinball I don't know what's going to happen there yet as the machine is still in its infancy. For Simpsons and xmen yes the 4 player versions can be added.
Do u think they will be making one like this for pinball?
I doubt it but the community is very creative so you never know.
Take a shot every time PDubs says flash drive
any recommendations for usb sticks?
Is there tutorial for legends gamer pro for coinopsx sauce
I'm at work and can't listen to the video right now. Does this show me how I can get games that I can use my Aimtrak light guns for? I bought the guns since I saw they were finally restocked, but I can't get them to work with the games I bought.
So I did the one flash drive partition trick with a 64GB drive, but wasn't able to get all the videos on (only L-Z) Is the COX partition able to be less than 16GB?
I have the same question. I went to the coinops discord and a few people said it can be less than 5gigs. Imma try and let you know
@@zombie4420 I’d be interested so I could fit everything on the 64GB instead of leaving that other stuff off
I need help!!!
So you need two flash drives?
