I too organize twice a year. My granddaughter comes to Illinois from Georgia twice a year and reorganizes with me. She is 15 and loves to organize my beads with me and she always has great ideas how to do it. Love your videos. This one was very informative and gives me some ideas how I will do my bead room. I just recently got a room for my beading. I previously just had a corner in the living room. I love having a whole room.

Girl, you shocked me! I thought you were really neat and organized! I love your bead room, maybe a trip to Harbor Freight for the 25 piece storage box system, they are amazing, I have over 60 of them. I'm glad I'm not the only bead hoarder. Lol.
LOL, I am pretty neat, but when you have this much stuff, you have to make a big mess going through it, to organize. I am about ready to do it again, I think I need some of those boxes too. And don’t worry, you will never be the only bead hoarder, there are many of us😁😃🌷
Trust me - you are not the only bead hoarder! But I bead every day of my life, so I replace whatever I use immediately, so I'm not really 'hoarding', LOL! 🌹🌷🌹

You got to work through your own process. Everyone has a style to themselves that works for their style of beading. I find for myself that organizing my space gets my creativity active again. Happy organizing 🥰
You did such a great job organizing everything!! I don't know about you but when I organize my beads, and I don't have even close to what you do, it inspires me so much. Not only do I remember what I have and know where it is, but when I go shopping for beads I do better getting what I need. I get inspired by the colors and it's like I have all these beads I forgot about and now want to make this or that. Lol. Last time I shopped I actually sat down with all the new beads and organized them into separate projects and put them into baggies and put them in a container. Now I can pull out a bag, set them up, and add the seed beads, spacer beads, buttons or clasps, or whatever I need to go with it. I think it will keep me on track of the ideas I bought them for. Sometimes I buy beads with no rhyme or reason, then I still need beads, so I tried the project thing this time. I still buy filler beads, adding colors, because you can never have enough colors it seems, but I think the project thing will keep me focused on what's next. I did several different types of projects in the bags, so I have a variety to choose from so I don't get bored. Of course I can choose to do anything else too, but I figured it would be a little challenging to pull out a bag and see where it leads me. You did a great job on organizing. It's always so freeing to have a clean organized space to work. My plan is to move to my back bedroom and turn it into my bead room. Lol. I need more space. I love those little colored containers in the cube. I haven't seen them before. Where did you get them? Love watching you. 😁 Talk to you later.

That's my issue with keeping my beads neat. I got the cube containers at Michaels, I really like them. I went back yesterday to get more and they were all sold Out! I found a different type, but I really want at least two more those.

I have a 3 day weekend coming up and organizing my bead room is on the "list of things to do" for that weekend. Mine is a complete mess too! Great job! I have one of the drawer carts too & I love mine!
I use to feel I was hopeless because I was so disorganized, but now I know it just comes with the passion. I am working on organizing it so I can find stuff,, and I just live it. One person referred to their unfinished projects as UFOs “ for “unfinished” objects”.
And I thought I had some beads! I bead every day of my life and I will probably never get to use half of my beads - and I only have half of what you do! That's incredible! But I do have a beautiful, calming and relaxed beading room that looks more like a large study with a huge solid timber desk, matching bookcase to showcase my favourite pieces, a coffee table and leather sofa, and artworks and potted plants - and it all overlooks the terrace and lovely gardens through concertina glass doors - which overlooks the ocean. BUT - when I open the huge floor-to-ceiling cupboard I had built spanning one full-width wall...there is my entire stash and all the necessary equipment, all neatly sitting on the purpose-built shelves inside the cupboard - And I absolutely LOVE my beading room, as it helps me to be creative without any of the mess, and it doubles as a sales room for when I have buyers over! But yours is incredible!
Oh Gina, I can so identify with the challenge to organize your bead room. I just did a two day bizarre and am now facing the reorganization of my all my beading and crafting supplies. At the moment I don't have a room, I have a corner with shelves, an eight foot table, two armoire and one of those tall drawer thingies. So for the next couple of days I will be reorganizing my supplies. I have another show the first week of Dec and I always work better when my space is organized. Right at the moment it's a disaster ! Wow that is what I like to see in my bead room. right now I have Beads in the back bedroom and the place I bead is in the front bed room it has better lighting. I am hoping to get everything in on place soon. If you are not busy next weekend come to Nebr. I will have the coffee on.

Do you have a video about bead backing ? OMG your bead room looks like mine lol. I have so many unfinished projects I pay my grandkids to separate some of my beads.. in your double sided box do you get a lot of pieces that tarnished ? On my storage boxes that I keep for my findings is from Joann’s and the storage boxes are tarnished resistance they wasn’t that bad in price. Also you can get coupons on line to use in store or online.
+Page Smelser I don't have a video on bead backing, I do intend to do more embroidery sometime soon though. I only have one video on that. The box I have at be a tarnishing issue, haven't had it long enough to know yet. I use to keep them in bags in a drawer...I may have to put a some tarnish resistant lining in there. But I am considering getting to separate boxes anyway. I am not sure the double box was a good idea.
I know this is an older video, but I thought of something when I saw all your corked bottles. Since they're flat on top you could turn them upside down so you can look from the top to see what's in them. I don't have nearly that many beads, you've given me a lot of good ideas for getting them in an area where I can actually use them more easily. Thanks.
Thank you for showing your chaos. I usually go through and try to organize about every 4 -6 months. I hate ufo's and bead soups. They are the bane to my beading life. I have an idea for storage that will work for me, but of course it is costly. I hate the plastic drawers. I have a dusty house and two hairy dogs , so I constantly find dust and dog hair in the drawers, because the plastic shelving frame is not closed in on the sides or the drawers are not closed across the top. Frustrating!
I'm far too OCD to let my room get messy! Organisation is the key to easy beading and planning! I'd hate to be searching for something when I could be beading!

I have the exact same double sided case from a thrift store. I guess it was made for tackle or something. as soon as I heard you flip it over I remember all my just-sorted beads mixing together. I did the same thing with tape. good idea gone bad. my problem with my craft room is that I do too many types of crafts and will not waste good supplies by getting rid of them. I do everything from jewelry to resin to polymer to quilting to miniatures. its all my passion but the disorganization , oh my
I understand, and yes, that box was a good idea gone bad. It just did not work. So I have bought another box to organize my findings in, two, actually. It is hard to find a good system of organization that allows you to see all your supplies and function efficiently. I agree, throwing good stuff away is not what we should do, but I do try to clear out things I don’t use occasionally. I sell them or give them away. But still have so much, it’s tends to get disorganized regardless of my efforts.❤️
Have you made a video about your favorite places to get beads? There is no place for bulk beads around here and you just get lost online. Plus things seem to be extra expensive...

I bought them at a farm supply store in Nebraska, they are just regular nut and bolt garage organizers. They are great though, I could have never organized with out them, especially when I first started beading.
Love your bead room!! I have a studio for all of my paper crafting and beading but I am almost to the point that I need another room just for the beads lol. I have actually had another table set up in a different room for about two months now because I was making jewelry for a couple events. It has been so nice having the extra work space. I had to laugh when you said you had to get your room done because the gem show is coming up this weekend---sounds like something I would say lol. You mentioned having a bead/jewelry show---is that something you do in your home? I have thought about doing something like that myself. Do you send out invites or do you open it up to the public? Hope you have fun at the gem show!! It won't be here in MN until June--gosh that seems like a long time lol. Have fun creating and TFS!! :)

And yes, I am going to the bead show and I need space! LOL. I am ridiculous! Yes, I have home jewelry shows. Mostly I invite coworkers, friends, family and whoever they want to bring. They usually bug me until I give in and have a show. I cook something and invite everyone over. It's a very relaxed, nice day for everyone. It helps clear out some of the pieces I make for my channel. I also have had shows at friends houses, they wanted to host a show for their friends...usually around Christmas time.

Can you please post information about the small drawers you use for the bulk beads. Also you can use a label maker to make labels you'd like if you choose to label your items so that you can still provide information to people.

+Lady Jane I considered labeling everything, but because, I used to buy in bulk, most of my stuff wasn't actually labeled and I learned to recognize it by looking at it. I don't really need the labels, that, and I was too lazy to do it after spending three days sorting and organizing 😜😝😀♥️

I put my lines on aMartha Stewart idea. It was a dowel like a towel dispenser I made. It worked great fo seeing and cutting. I made a magnet wall storage. Metal magnet boxes and or Velcro and clear tops from Ikea and have them in the wall I. Front of me. If you can’t see it you don’t re e bed,

I realize that this video is over 3 years old but I have a suggestion someone might like. You wanted to remove the labels from the fronts of your bulk seed bead drawers because you didn’t like how they looked. Why not tape them to the back of the drawer so you don’t see them but all of the information is still there?

If you own your home why don’t you build cabinets into your walls and have shelves with pullouts instead of all those containers everywhere? I finally got rid of my containers and built shelves with all glass bottles for my beads but I don’t have nearly the collection you have.

Actually I am an imitator and YOU are a creator. You inspire me to bead. I use elements you have created and make something else. I don't think I can create an element on my own. But, boy, those are a lot of beads. I don't want it to come to a point where I need a room for my beads, even though I have quite a few. Seeing your video I have decided to stop buying beads. It's like an addiction. I LOVE gem beads actually.

I have my beads and I like them, I collect them, I use them, it’s my happy place. I will never stop buying them because I don’t have to. But I do have a beautiful, calming and relaxed beading room that looks more like a large study with a huge solid timber desk, matching bookcase to showcase my favourite pieces, a coffee table and leather sofa, and artworks and potted plants - and it all overlooks the terrace and lovely gardens through concertina glass doors - which overlooks the ocean. BUT - when I open the huge floor-to-ceiling cupboard I had built spanning one full-width wall...there is my entire stash and all the necessary equipment, all neatly sitting on the purpose-built shelves inside the cupboard - And I absolutely LOVE my beading room, as it helps me to be creative without any of the mess, and it doubles as a sales room for when I have buyers over!

Oh Gina, I can so identify with the challenge to organize your bead room. I just did a two day bizarre and am now facing the reorganization of my all my beading and crafting supplies. At the moment I don't have a room, I have a corner with shelves, an eight foot table, two armoire and one of those tall drawer thingies. So for the next couple of days I will be reorganizing my supplies. I have another show the first week of Dec and I always work better when my space is organized. Right at the moment it's a disaster ! So I suppose I'd better stop watching my RUclips channels and get to work. Happy beading and many blessings. 💞💫

Do you have a video about bead backing ? OMG your bead room looks like mine lol. I have so many unfinished projects I pay my grandkids to separate some of my beads.. in your double sided box do you get a lot of pieces that tarnished ? On my storage boxes that I keep for my findings is from Joann’s and the storage boxes are tarnished resistance they wasn’t that bad in price. Also you can get coupons on line to use in store or online.
+Page Smelser I don't have a video on bead backing, I do intend to do more embroidery sometime soon though. I only have one video on that. The box I have at be a tarnishing issue, haven't had it long enough to know yet. I use to keep them in bags in a drawer...I may have to put a some tarnish resistant lining in there. But I am considering getting to separate boxes anyway. I am not sure the double box was a good idea.

I know this is an older video, but I thought of something when I saw all your corked bottles. Since they're flat on top you could turn them upside down so you can look from the top to see what's in them. I don't have nearly that many beads, you've given me a lot of good ideas for getting them in an area where I can actually use them more easily. Thanks.
Yes, that is good idea, just have to be careful, if they fall, they break. They break very easily. I know I have knocked them over a few times😝

Thank you for showing your chaos. I usually go through and try to organize about every 4 -6 months. I hate ufo's and bead soups. They are the bane to my beading life. I have an idea for storage that will work for me, but of course it is costly. I hate the plastic drawers. I have a dusty house and two hairy dogs , so I constantly find dust and dog hair in the drawers, because the plastic shelving frame is not closed in on the sides or the drawers are not closed across the top.

You need a nail polish holder to put all your litte jars of beads on. That way you can see them all instead of them sitting on the table.
I'm far too OCD to let my room get messy! Organisation is the key to easy beading and planning! I'd hate to be searching for something when I could be beading!

I have the exact same double sided case from a thrift store. I guess it was made for tackle or something. as soon as I heard you flip it over I remember all my just-sorted beads mixing together. I did the same thing with tape. good idea gone bad. my problem with my craft room is that I do too many types of crafts and will not waste good supplies by getting rid of them. I do everything from jewelry to resin to polymer to quilting to miniatures. its all my passion but the disorganization , oh my
I understand, and yes, that box was a good idea gone bad. It just did not work. So I have bought another box to organize my findings in, two, actually. It is hard to find a good system of organization that allows you to see all your supplies and function efficiently. I agree, throwing good stuff away is not what we should do, but I do try to clear out things I don’t use occasionally. I sell them or give them away. But still have so much, it’s tends to get disorganized regardless of my efforts.❤️

Nope, I think I’ll keep them, I will eventually use them.
Maybe just put the ones you don’t use in there own storage container so that there separate from the ones you use frequently use.
Have you made a video about your favorite places to get beads? There is no place for bulk beads around here and you just get lost online. Plus things seem to be extra expensive...

Love your bead room!! I have a studio for all of my paper crafting and beading but I am almost to the point that I need another room just for the beads lol. I have actually had another table set up in a different room for about two months now because I was making jewelry for a couple events. It has been so nice having the extra work space. I had to laugh when you said you had to get your room done because the gem show is coming up this weekend---sounds like something I would say lol. You mentioned having a bead/jewelry show---is that something you do in your home? I have thought about doing something like that myself. Do you send out invites or do you open it up to the public? Yes, I have home jewelry shows. Mostly I invite coworkers, friends, family and whoever they want to bring. They usually bug me until I give in and have a show. I cook something and invite everyone over. It's a very relaxed, nice day for everyone. It helps clear out some of the pieces I make for my channel. I also have had shows at friends houses, they wanted to host a show for their friends...usually around Christmas time.

Can you please post information about the small drawers you use for the bulk beads. Also you can use a label maker to make labels you'd like if you choose to label your items so that you can still provide information to people.

+Lady Jane I considered labeling everything, but because, I used to buy in bulk, most of my stuff wasn't actually labeled and I learned to recognize it by looking at it. I don't really need the labels, that, and I was too lazy to do it after spending three days sorting and organizing 😜😝😀♥️

I put my lines on aMartha Stewart idea. It was a dowel like a towel dispenser I made. It worked great fo seeing and cutting. I made a magnet wall storage. Metal magnet boxes and or Velcro and clear tops from Ikea and have them in the wall I. Front of me. If you can’t see it you don’t re e bed,

I realize that this video is over 3 years old but I have a suggestion someone might like. You wanted to remove the labels from the fronts of your bulk seed bead drawers because you didn’t like how they looked. Why not tape them to the back of the drawer so you don’t see them but all of the information is still there?

If you own your home why don’t you build cabinets into your walls and have shelves with pullouts instead of all those containers everywhere? I finally got rid of my containers and built shelves with all glass bottles for my beads but I don’t have nearly the collection you have.

Actually I am an imitator and YOU are a creator. You inspire me to bead. I use elements you have created and make something else. I don't think I can create an element on my own. But, boy, those are a lot of beads. I don't want it to come to a point where I need a room for my beads, even though I have quite a few. Seeing your video I have decided to stop buying beads. It's like an addiction. I LOVE gem beads actually.
