She filmed this on a day off in the middle of making Evita. She said it kind of weird to suddenly "be herself" again after spending so long immersed in the role of Eva Peron. The lace caftan was Gucci, btw 😊
She shot this video on her off day during the filming of Evita. She only had one day so it's a simple video but it works perfectly for the song. I love the song both 1984 and 1995 version. Excited for you to see the other videos of this era too. Madonna looked real good and classy. Funny how dance queen Madonna was the queen of Adult contemporary and ballads at the time. ;) Versatile for sure.
I’ll always love that original reaction of yours 🥰. It was one of your first Madonna reactions and I personally like the original 84 version over this remix. Empress found a way to make it into our hearts 😘😌
Yea when I heard it was the original vocals I was stunned coz she didn’t use her voice like that in the early 80’s. Sounded fantastic and love the upgrade with the music ❤

This was the second remix of the song. The first remix on the 'Something To Remember' album largely sounds like her original version but with some updated tweaks and subtle new effects. This Soul Power remix was done strictly for the sake of making this single at a time when music was radically different from 1984. It's okay, but I don't think this new production meshes that well with her voice. As for the video, it was so weird to see 1996 Madonna lip-sync to her 1984 voice. They seemed like such a world apart.
This remake is OK. But the One on the Like A Virgin album is the absolute best for me. This one she is too controlled and not letting go. The virgin album version is so raw and emotional and I love her voice on it.
In hindsight, this is a perfectly fine M single and video. On the heels of Erotica, and Bedtime Stories it was all a bit "meh." Empress... you're gonna be in the wilderness (but somehow you'll make it through), for original Madonna material for a few years lol. Seemed like forever back in the day. Madonna doing a super 180 reinvention at this point - though our girl still can't resist caressing a hard pole, even while being demure lol
P.S. on a side note, I just bought a new Madonna biography , by Mary Gabriel, “A Rebel Life”, it’s turning out to be a great read and so we’ll written. If you get a chance to pick up a copy, I think you’ll really enjoy the details. I got a second hand copy cheap on eBay, as an F.Y.I😊
this song was originally recorded and released by "Rose Royce" in 1978( but Madonna did it some justice here) this version is definitely more upbeat and fresher though 👍
I always liked this remix and LOVE the original song. This was an artistic one-take video that I appreciate, glad she did it, but it's not iconic the way other videos are. She did finally perform it live on the 2015 Rebel Heart Tour, and the fans lost our minds, but it's edited out of the DVD (I guess cuz she didn't write it and would have to pay royalties?). Sorry that RUclips has been giving you trouble!
@@EmpressReacts if you watch the “official” release, it’s edited out so you’ll have to go looking for fan footage. You will hear the iconic strings though.
Thank God they kept the original vocals, cause the remix is very wishy washy sounding to me. I adore the original version. They even put out some dance remixes to this also and they were a tad cringy too. ❤😂❤
I always enjoyed the simplicity of this video... and there's no way the director and M didn't know what they were doing with her loving on a 'pillar' 🍆LOL... of course, it was also shot to help hide her pregnancy with Lola.
Can’t believe how big she’s getting !! Can’t believe that much time has passed!! She’s absolutely BONITA! As of her mother! 😘😘
Thank you so much!!

Oh so cool
Cool Remix. The rawness of Madonna’s vocals really pop on this cover. I think they are the same vocals. Madonna looks good in this video.
Same vocals.
I totally agree!
The mv was filmed in the famous and legendary café "El Molino" in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during Evita filmings. It's a single shot.
She shot this video on her off day during the filming of Evita. She only had one day so it's a simple video but it works perfectly for the song. I love the song both 1984 and 1995 version.

Right! Stark difference
Hello In the EP version of this reissue were also included dance versions with the addition of the voices of Nicki Harris and Donna Delory
I’ll always love that original reaction of yours 🥰. It was one of your first Madonna reactions and I personally like the original 84 version over this remix. Empress found a way to make it into our hearts 😘😌
Aye 😘😘😘
Tennnns across the board ❤❤

Oh wow 😮 sometimes the fans mad dumb choices 😂
This remix is VERY “quite storm” !! Love it!
💯
Clearly Love still lives here on the Empress channel 😘😘🌺aloha
Always😘
Great reaction once again. ❤
Thanks again!
“Let’s get TWO it!” So cute!
Thanks 😊

Agree with the world apart
Now u hadn't heard this Empress? Id be really surprised 😮😮😮😮
I said in the video that this was one of the first Madonna songs I heard, but it was the 84 version. Did you hear that part?
This remake is OK. But the One on the Like A Virgin album is the absolute best for me. This one she is too controlled and not letting go. The virgin album version is so raw and emotional and I love her voice on it.
It’s the same vocals on both versions

Hi. This one here my fav dance remix of this song. ruclips.net/video/m6BRQc8tAhk/видео.htmlsi=PpUkIy7OWeXsXGXg
Dance 🤯😂
@@EmpressReactshonestly, if I was in a sad drunk mood that dance remix would be fire 😂

Omg, you ruined the video for me 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Although I love Madonna's music this remake is NOT hitting! I give her a 5 for effort . This song is a Rose Royce classic 🤎🎼
Its the same vocals
Yep I figured
Empress, there are better versions! The studio version! This is a rrmix and doesn't sound good to me.
