Literally the best startup video I have ever watched. You should be doing this for the manufacturers. Thanks for making this, it was a huge help!
I got this printer as a gift and I was a little overwhelmed after opening the box. After watching this video the printer is assembled, properly aligned, and ready for printing. Thank you!
Same!!
Thank you a million times over for doing this explainer video. I am new to 3D printing, and the tutorial video they offer just has music playing in the background, with no explanation. This is huge for me.
Just got into 3D printing and have to say this is the best tutorial video I have ever watched. Absolutely incredibly made. Thank you so much!!!!
61yo female here and I will say, it was very easy to set up. Of course watching your video helped a lot. Thanks 🙏
Hi @susan3156, how is your experience going with the Neptune 4 Pro now that it's 6 months later? Still working well for you?
NOT ANYMORE Do not get this printer do not get this printer. I've had their Neptune three and I don't know what happened. I'm pretty sure they sold the company off. This is a completely different machine is absolutely horrible like absolutely horrible. I can't even get the thing to work and I used to print on Neptune three for over half a year I made hundreds of dollars.
i just ordered this printer and look forward to using it. i bought it with level expectations. i’m not expecting the very best like the bambu x-1c for my uses for it. i do scale radio control and make a few tools and stuff of my own design here and there and the quality doesn’t need to smooth as butter. it just needs to look 90% and it appears to do exactly that. super stoked to get it set up!
I just ordered one and this was the best video i have watched as to what i should expect when it arrives. Thanks for taking the time to put this together for us. 😊
Pretty amazing how the falling price-point of technology continues to pull more people into the game. Not bad for an inexpensive entry. And I am quite satisfied with their low-cost filament for prototyping purposes. Elegoo seems to be satisfying its targeted market. Thanks for sharing this video.
I was talking with the guy who got me into 3d printing (only 7 or so years ago) and how much it has changed, as things have become more accessible and easier. Also how "influencers" have became prevalent. "Fans" of certain manufacturers that have popped up too.
I'm a fan of Elegoo, mostly because I'm a fan of the price point and that they seem to deliver the most you can get for the price point. I have had the Neptune 3 Pro, now have the Mars 4 Max and am about to get the Neptune 4 Pro. Good customer service too, which is important.
@@davedempsey5282 Just thought I'd ask, but how's your experience been with the 4 Pro so far? I'm about to pick one up myself and I'm torn between the size offered by the 4+ and the sturdier materials in the 4 Pro.
@@DigitalJedi Didn't get it. Got a Sovol SV06 Plus instead. But the best thing I have had is the Artillery Sidewinder X4 Plus. Wicked fast, klipper, big, rod supports, and rails. All there for $319 when I got mine, I think a bit more now.
@@davedempsey5282 Oh dang. What made you change your mind over the 4 Pro?
Bought this printer because of watching your video, very well explained and detailed
Perfect timing! Just got one of them delivered today and set it up watching your vid. Little Buddha is printing right now. Thanks, man!
I just bought me a Neptune 4 Plus and didn't even have to check the pdf. Did the whole setup through this video. And... The Buddha is printing! Thanks for this !!
This was great. Set my printer up using this video, and prints came out great from the start. Thank you!
Thankyou! This was a brilliant tutorial I set mine up alongside your video and it couldn't have gone better! Printing my little Buddha now! I already know this is going to be a very fun and interesting hobby!
I just got the Plus delivered , set up but haven't had a chance to print but omg the size difference lol I hope I like it! Great vid
A very well-explained assembling step-by-step clearly and to the point. Thank you.
I love these build vids by Just Vlad, he really puts thought into how he assembles the printers.
I can’t believe how helpful this video was! Thank you!!
Great video. I just ordered my first printer and this video helped so much
G'day m8.....i just won a Choice of Neptune 4 Pro or a Mars 4 Ultra 9K from Elegoo for newyears. Ive gone with the Neptune as my main building is FDM based. Now i have a Ender 3 V2 (modded), a Kywoo Tycoon Max (soon to be slightly Modded) and recently before Xmas my Sunlu S4 Arrived From Kickstarter (an excellent dryer and will do any Filament of up to 4 rolls). and for xmas my fam got me the Elegoo Mercury X Bundle to go with my Nova3d Whale 2 4k Mid size MSLA Resin Printer. Cheers for this in-depth review of the Neptune 4 Pro. This helped me make my choice to go with the FDM. A big cheers from A M8 Downunder..(Australia)
I would advise against manually pushing filament in to purge the line. I've clogged a lot of nozzles on my Neptune 4 Pro doing that. Once I stopped, not a single clogged nozzle since. Otherwise great video.
Awesome Video!!!! I just got mine, my auto leveling has 121 points. They must have upgraded something. I will have to let you know how my first print works out!!
Thanks! I have been watching this video all day. Its my first filament print and all ocurred very well.
Received my Neptune 4 pro today, I subscribed and watched several of your videos, which are amazing for a slow learner like me. If I could, would you be able too answer some questions when I get frustrated with the amount of knowledge needed to operate with confidence ?
Thank you for this video!
I thought I would give 3D printing another go after some bad luck with an ancient anet printer, and the first print was perfect.
I bought one - Speed and interest in klipper influenced my purchase. Waiting for mine to arrive today. Your videography and presentation is excellent. Been printing since 2016. Started with an Anet A8 I built and modded. This will be my fourth FDM printer. They keep getting better. Anet A8 -> Ender 3 -> Neptune 3 -> Neptune 4. I tried resin printing but found it too messy. I have been using Octopi for my past printers. No need with this.
Very nicely done, helped me get started. Excellent job. Thank you!
My printer on some prints, usually circles, seems to have issues with the base layer and seems to not adhere very well sometimes. Its almost like there's not enough flow. Weird thing is though, on other prints, they come out amazingly perfect. Any suggestions? Incredible start up video btw. Thank you.
I love my Elegoo 3 Pro. The 4 does not use a generic nozzle so I am passing on this model. I like everything else about this printer.
How is a volcano nozzle not "generic" enough for you?
@@CapacitorCapacity To my knowledge it uses a proprietary nozzle that you can only get from Elegoo. You may wish to search Elegoo 4 replacement nozzles.
@@CapacitorCapacity the 4 doesnt use a generic volcano nozzle
Hey Vlad, if you can’t answer, can someone else please? I keep having failed prints. I followed every instruction. It keeps coming off of the plate and it won’t stay on. I have the right filament, I lubricated the rails, and I have the right model. Can someone please help me?
What type of printing filament are you using? Maybe the reason for not sticking is that the bed temperature is not adjusted well. For example, ABS needs a higher temperature to stick well. Also, the huge fan in the background must be turned off, which is almost useless except with PLA, which may require rapid cooling. There is also a special glue for the bed if all your previous attempts fail.
3:20 - What kind of leveling probe is this? pressure? magnetic? vibration? pen? bending ? ...
Just got this. But got pm4 45 screws for the side stand for screen instead of pm4 20?
I love what this 3D printer can do, but how do I set the correct parameters to print what I need? I did something to muck up the leveling and now it's either not touching (or even barely touching) the build plate, or it's dragging along the plate, potentially damaging it. Plus i tried the knobs where you can fine-tune it, but i don't notice any difference. Help plz 😶
Thank you very much Vlad for making this video. Incredibly helpful, especially for beginners.
ABS without an enclosure? That is pretty amazing. I am doing my first print on mine right now (tool holder) in PLA. I think I will try ASA at some point
Do you recommend this instead of sovol sv07 ?
It would've been nice to touch on the segmented heatbed, which is a feature the regular 4 doesn't have.
Thank you so much for this Vlad!
Amazing review!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I did it!!!!!!!!!
Also, another thing: will i need to calibrate the printer everytime i turn it on, or whenever i print something new?
Thinking about starting my way into 3D-Printing and this sounds like a pretty convincing product! And for under 300 bucks, it's still pretty affordable as well! :)
It's my first time getting one (Christmas). I feel stupid, not from the video, but by everything I don't know. If you find any useful tricks to design or finding g plans let me know.
What do I do when I'm ready to turn everything off? The machine has pre-heated for the offset process, but I'm finished now!
Followed your set up steps…great. Newbie 3D printer. Now just have to keep it away from husband who is a war gaming model painter…🙂 TY.
I've tried this so much but with the axillary leveling I try one two three and four really tight but it is still really lifted at home. I've been going on this for weeks now and I can't figure it out
1:09 Jeez, look at the state of that rocket...
16:28 Hi there, my y axis is very stiff, would this just be a lubricant issue where I just need to add a bit of oil to the rollers? It moves okay during printing but it’s so stiff I can’t move it by hand the way you do, please help. Thanks a lot
Hi! Thanks a lot for this vid. Great and clear explanation.
Thank You for the video. Did you like the changes from the 4 to the 4 Pro? Do they really make the printer better?
It cant print round mechanical stuff so no its just a toy you have to sell cheaper then you bought it to get rid of it. Get resin printer instead
@@juliusvalentinasI’m sorry, you sound really stupid right now hating on FDM printers. I personally don’t want to deal with a resin printer myself.
- Smaller build volume most of the time.
- Too much wasted support material.
- Puts out VOCs and fumes, needs ventilation.
- Parts require post processing.
- Harder to use.
@@juliusvalentinasand what do you mean by it not being able to print “round mechanical parts”??? it can definitely print mechanical parts
One thing I have noticed is that when it goes to the center at 25:16, well, you can see that point is highly deviated from the center of the bed. Is it normal?
It is. It puts the magnetic sensor in the middle, not the nozzle. The magnetic sensor is at the back, at the extreme left side of who's looking at it.
Thanks for the tutorial:)
will u make a neptune 4 plus video and when? (pls do i need help)
what can you print with the included filament?
250mm/s ...260 bucks unreal. Bought my anycubic I3 Mega 5 years ago for $444. It still sitting on my desk and doing a blazing 60mm/s. Lol People getting in today will never know the struggle....
I really liked your video. Is it true that this printer tends to jam and that it is very difficult to unclog it? the other. Could you tell me about your experience with her? Does having a physical klipper make a big difference compared to the klipper that this printer uses?
Great video. Question: can you plug Ethernet port of Elegoo into laptop Ethernet port and have it work?
Found best solution for me was to get a WiFi extender from Amazon that has an ethernet port and then just plug ethernet cable from WiFi extender to Neptune 4 Pro.
That’s odd. In some RUclips videos the bed of the 4 Pro is insulated and here in this video it’s not insulated. 😮
I leveled, set heat settings ABS, did Extruder after threading filament and everytime try to extrude load, it gets system error and I hear a sort of grinding noise from the feeder / extruder. Error: TMC_Extruder reports error: DRV_STATUS: 00190050 S2VSA=1)lOWsIDEsHORT_a!) OLA=1(OpenLoad_A!) cs_actual=25.Oncethe underlying issue is corrected use the FIRMWARE_RESTART command to reset the firmware, reload the config, and restart the hoset software..Printer is shutdown.
Options are Restart FIRMWARE or Restart KLIPPER. I tried both, and over and over again get the same result. Do you think my extruder is faulty?
thanks for your help
Is the issue with spiral mode solved? Is it possible to load gcode at the USB-C or the micro.SD slot? It's because I would like to add a WiFi module at the other USB-type A-slot
GREAT REVIEW -Subscribed ! 5 / 5
where do i find files for that Teddy bear?
Does this have a filament change feature?
Kind of odd none of the N4s that got sent to content creators have the ususal z-offset issue. Seems kind of shady on Elegoo's part.
Just got one today. Mine seems to have 121 auto bed leveling points 😂. Must have been an update since release or its because it has an ethernet cable connected
@35:05 Im having trouble downloading the slicer. Is this on the Red USB?
Hi glad would you say the Neptune 4pro is better that the the Neptune 4 I am looking to get another printer and can’t decide I do hear the 4 is not as noisy because of the Pom wheels but my concern is more what one would be the better print quality
If this pro cant print working mechanical things then what non pro would look like
@@juliusvalentinasi still have no idea what you are on about for it “not being able to print mechanical parts” literally every printer can…
My Neptune 4 plus doesn't show my STLs just the folders how do I fix that?
My neptune 4 bed mesh is 11 on 11 points 😅.
Second think I have big issue with print ringing/ wobbling. I tried almost everything but still can't fix it.
Mine will arrive today, im excited :D
how do you like it i am thinking of buying one for my first 3d printer
Hello, where can I get the file for this white teddy bear to print on the Neptune 4 3D printer?
What kind of computer did you use?
the pause can how long? can pause off it and continue later?
Great video. Thank you for that. My question is do you have to use Fast filament or can you work with regular PLA+?
Don’t know if you got a response but you can use regular PLA. Apparently the fast filament is just designed to work better when printing at higher speeds
does this all apply to the max?
Is there not the one-touch abl mode such as K1 and kobra2?
What are your settings in cura for the ender 3 S1 pro I can't get my walls to do right I just now got the first layer somewhat good but when it comes to the walls it is like it raises to much
I strongly advise against buying this printer. Before purchasing, I watched several reviews where everyone seemed to praise it, but my experience was entirely different. From the moment it arrived, the frustrations began. The auto bed leveling doesn’t work, and there’s no option to disable it. Prints come out as if the X-axis isn’t straight, making everything look tilted.
A few days later, I purchased the A1 Mini because I urgently needed a functioning printer, and, honestly, that thing just works flawlessly. It’s been printing non-stop without issues.
I’m returning the Elegoo tomorrow and buying another A1 instead.
Can we get links to mechanical models you printed
i just ordered 1
@Just Vlad Thank you for your video! Have you been able to get a stable profile for the Neptune 4 Pro in PrusaSlicer or OrcaSlicer?
first layer not sticking after 10 prints?
How is your CR6SE working for you?
So much help thank you so much
Clean setup
Hi Vlad, can I ask you a question? I want to buy my first fdm printer (have 2 sla’s) and I was thinking for the 4pro or the 3pro. I don’t need the speed that much. But the loudness is more of a problem as they stand to the other side of wall next to my head bord of the bed. I heard the 3pro is more quiet. But what are the best benefits of the 4pro (beside speed)
So which one would you suggest and why
Compared to A1 this is like jet engine, I could not stand it.
i printed everything that was on drive without a problem, and then a no sticking problem and i slowed travel speed and no stick
Do you have cura profile for neptune 4 pro?
Does this printer have the ability to be able do multiple colors
no you would have to do a filament change yourself
Hello! First time buying a 3D printer for figures and different props, but also bigger stuff :) How would this compare to the Anycubic Kobra 2 Pro, is it better?
In general, many people say the Neptune has slightly better print quality most of the time. They are ultimately pretty similar machines, though. I went with the 4 Pro and I love it.
What model nozzle dose the machine use.
sold!
My neptune 4 pro has 126 points for bed leveling, I have the new firmware, 1.1.1.98 and ui 1.1.5
Me too
My elegoo Neptune4 pro doesn't level well. I have version 1.94
Hi. Can it also print small things? E.g. fonts on a scale of 1:87. Example: The word "Bahnhof" 15mm wide, 5mm high, 1mm deep. If that's possible, I'll buy it immediately
You can change the nozzle of "every" printer. For such little things I would try 0.2mm nozzle. I think it will do it very good. 0.4mm might work too. Details in prints are just depending on the settings. Even the kp3s for 130€ will do this just fine.
For such a scale I would recommend a resin printer, e.g., Elegoo Saturn.
that's already on the level of resin printers.
FDM's aren't designed for extremely small print with some VERY PRICEY EXCEPTIONS.
I suggest you get an FDM and a resin printer
So the only difference between the PRO and the normal is that the PRO comes with u-shaped metal guide rails for X and Y axis?
I mean the main difference, and the main selling point, is that the Pro comes with Klipper firmware for faster printing...
@@rijlqanturis625 The non pro version does come with Klipper too.
How i put wifi? Can say the link?

Hello, I am ne to the 3D printing I got an Elegoo Neptune 4 pro about 2 months ago and I did a new update for it from the Elegoo company and now my printer is not working properly. I am wondering if anyone has this printer and can help me out?
Hi We are in the same boat. Mine also is a non-start brick that I got in Jan. It quit working after a software "upgrade" that ended it's brief life after printing 2 models.
After 7 emails to elegooo I finally got a robot response and after 12 emails I got advise from them that did not work. Anyone want a brand new elegoo 4 pro that has a software glitch that sends it into a coma that they apparently cannot fix?
How about a little help- Elegoo

He probably gotta update the firmware to get the 121 point leveling as his is V1.0.1. Edit: Earlier units got 36 points ABL. He also says 36 points and it shows 36 in the upper left since it finishes there, you were probably looking at the upper right.
