@Deacon Marlon i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
They are both very good but so differently sounding. Very/too round and warmer sound for the Aria. I do prefer the Chorus for its detailed and wide-open sound,. The music is alive with the chorus whereas the Aria makes it almost shy. Thanks a lot for this interesting video.
While there is a flavor some prefer, warmer vs cooler side of neutral or even beyond, I would go for the Chorus W series everytime. In comparison, the older AlMg tweeter brings out greater details as well as the W driver in comparison to the Poron and Flax designs. The 936 is warmer, Canton Vento comparisons a bit warmer still. For me, it takes some of the life out of the music. Also, the warmness feels undefined, it's there but not tight like in the Focal W. I have taken Canton Vento series off the list as well as Focal Flax speakers, trying to see if I can get a better move coming from Focal 807 W. Can't seem to find anything under a grand that outright beats them for the qualities I am looking for, even to $2K. Possibly a better move is to Canton reference but skeptical that a crossover upgrade with a more solid box could make a night and day difference between say Vento and Reference. Cantons not as laid back as some English designs but Focal does extract a good amount of detail and for Jazz, Classical and Folk that 's just the ticket. Maybe Rock at higher volumes would benefit from a warmer presentation? For me personally, I like Focals especially with W drivers. And a smoother amp/source will help tame the sibilance you can get with the focals. Give me details and I will tame the S. Cantons here kind of remind me of the Def tech 45s I have which I also like alot for it's dynamics but less detailed than focal which is expected. Lastly, the Arias do some things a bit better than Chorus and vice versa. Choose what you could better like to live with. My take, enjoy what moves you.
Well I scored the 826 V W anniversary in piano black, can't complain I didn't get the red to match my 807 Ws. I got them as a package with the matching center channel and 3 MIT Matrix12 speaker cables. Couldn't be happier with the purchase as I basically paid for the MIT and got speakers for fred😂😁. The sound, man I tell you it was worth the four year plus wait, speakers are in near mint condition, sound is exactly what I expected and then some. Unison Research Unico Primo integrated amp seems like it was made to be the Focal soul magnet. If you've never heard Unison Unico series you must if you're looking for Focal and an amp to go with it. I actually prefer it easily over Naim and Hegel sound match wise. Though Naim and Hegel have more updated feature integration Unison still allows for everything digital via its hookups.
Wow, I can't believe how much more clear the 826W is vs the Aria 936. I guess some might say the 826W is too "bright". I heard the 836W one time and it sounded great.

@Sumanth K S I chose the chorus too without knowing prices. It's because the bass of the aria sounds overemphasized and hummy. The mids and highs kinda sound more realistic on the Aria.
Speaker positioning is affecting the sounds, if the aria were slightly closer and pointed more at the microphone the test would be more precise. Creating a slight faze effect in comparison. At least I think, I'm not there and haven't heard either in person...
Wow! I wasn't actually watching, just listening and thought I was hearing the same speaker. Then I looked, and there is only a slight difference. The 826 sounds a bit thin, but more open. For the price difference Chora wins.
I got the 716 how do thy compare to newer models lke the aria? is it huge? I cant even imagine how my system could sound better I run with a hifi amp and state of the art DAC
The Aria 936 goes deeper in bass than the 826W, but its bass energy is causing a resonance in that room, which I think is rather echo-y. The 826 is much more clear, but almost tinny sounding at times. I think with room treatment, the 826 would sound great. The 836W would be the bomb!
Hello from Chicago, I’d like to know how we’re you able to use that song and post it here!! I’d like to also use it for a review. I’d appreciate some guidance to be able to use it without issues !! By the way I think Aria’s sound warmer. Thank you!

The Focal 826W speaker is more transparent, dynamic. Flax isn't as good as the W-drivers and the new Poron tweeter take something away from the top end vs the previous Al-Mg tweeter. They made a darker sounding Focal...why?
Невероятно на сколько новые Aria уступают старым Focal Chorus 826 W Special Edition. Деградация компании Focal на лицо, а ведь когда-то выпускали качественную акустику с хорошим соотношением цена/звук.

Onkyo A5VL and FOCAL 300W speaker?? Hmm I personally think, by experience, thet these speakers need a lot more form ampo to sound to theirs true capabilities....:D
I'm using Unison Research Unico Primo which is a perfect match, and it's a solid 85 watt hybrid solid state 12au7 tube so it runs as a Class A. That's the lowest I'd go watts wise but yes, these wouldn't flinch at another 100 watts stacked on top:)
The W bracing on the chorus limited which is reserved to the higher models makes, I think, this speaker special. The flax driver sound in the 936’s isn’t my preference but nonetheless a great speaker. Cool vid!

Hello sir. I have accuphase e370 with focal 816w and im considering of focal aria 926. Im hearing from earbuds and cant figure out many diferences. Could you tell me some diferences between them and if the upgrade worth? ( put ride across the river from straits)
Hi, Both systems sound good but i prefer Focal Aria 926. The sound of Focal Aria 926 is fuller. The difference in sound is not very noticable through RUclips, you should really listen to them in person. Thank you for watching
@@shonberger9562 Yes what I was thinking. I heard the Aria 926s and they have a very wide soundstage, making them disappear. No matter what I did with my Chorus speakers, there were always "there". You could point where the sound was coming from. I found the 936s even better, but it needs a heavier amp as its impedcance dips to 2.8 ohms making it harder to drive (and he 948 goes down to 2.5 ohms). Thanks for the video btw.
Different specs. Different drivers.. Different number of drivers.. Camera and mike in different locations.. Room treatments in one video.. Of course they will sound and perform differently..
Same here! I went to a local dealer and I listened to both ,I was amazed by Chora 826 but were connected to different amps! Did you decide on which one to buy? Aria 926 is double the price of Chora 826 and I don't think the difference in sound justifies it!
@@ovidiuporoch9581 I never actually heard them both, there's no dealer near where I live, I've just been really interested in the Focal brand from what I've read and watched on the internet. I went with the Aria 926, but only because I found a good deal, I found some demo units from a dealer that said they were only used for about 20 hours, and they gave them to me with the full 4 year warranty. It was 1450 each delivered to my door. I absolutely love the way they look and sound, but I never heard the Chora 826. But from talking to the people at the dealer and a few more things I read, it sounds like they are very similar speakers and probably not worth the extra money if you are buying at full price.
There are a few visible differences that could affect the sound. The Arias are sitting on some slabs and have the panels behind them, they are spaced further apart and a different rack is used to hold the amp. I'm not a fan of this type of comparison video to begin with but they could at least eliminate some more variables. To me it seems like steps were taken to make the Arias appear larger and perhaps sound larger.
Aria sounds muffled in the mids. Smooth but muffled. The 826 is much brighter and to my ears sounds better. I prefer a v shape signature. The detail to me in the 826 reminds me of my clears ran through the topping d90 a90 stack. So. Much. Detail.
On youtube the Chorus 826 VW sound better, the Aria 936 seem less clear, bass taking over too much. But I assume that the Arias have a wider soundstage, the speakers disappearing while with the 826 VWs you still hear where the sound is coming from. (I own a pair of 2nd hand Electra 926s btw).
I have tannoy xt8f. Now I'm in my sister's house with focal 836w with pioneer a70. It is very explosive like Yamaha but tannoy revolution xt8f is more natural, more detailed, with an incredible wide scene. Focal is too bright for me, too compact sound , more than the Aria and after five minutes I cannot stand. It hurts my ears.
@@ulises3113 Carlos, thanks for the answer. Tannoy has good detail and a large scene, but didn’t they lose in the lower frequency spectrum, low bass? Bless you.
Well, the focal has an impact bass because the size boomer is small ( some people like others do not). However The tannoy has 20cm. So the impact of bass is depth and longer as it was an shot impact in you chest. At the begining I was not convinced.. So I took my time and I tried to understand what What Hifi wanted to tell with "These Tannoys are something special - they fire out an infectious,". and now I do know....... You can feel the bass with low volume as well as music......My audiolab 6000a has not tones options ( the first time I've bought an amplifier without) and I no longer need with this Tannoy.
@@ulises3113 I am trying to decide between Tannoy xt8f and Focal Aria 926 or Chora 826, are you still happy with Tannoys? I plan on running them through a Sony ta n77es amplifier!
Listened through my iPad and literally could hear no difference. Put on a pair of Bluetooth HD1 Sennheiser headphones and closed my eyes .. still through my iPad, but wow.. amazing difference. I like both, but the chorus is so much bigger in all ways.
Some room treatment would've really helped with this comparison. All I can hear is the room... Not to hate, or be a snob, but that slogan sitting below a soundbar is pure irony. It's also sitting beside this tiny amp that's likely only capable of driving that soundbar, let alone these speakers...
If I could take The bass from aria to The Chorus 826W. Then i would have a damn good speaker.....the speaker cables and room can change The sound a bit but i dont think it wil do it to perfection... I am a audiofil so i am not The best judge. And we never stop chase details or The perfect sound....its better to enjoy The music more.....instead of The hysteria of correct sound... Bless You al out there 🙏🧙♂️
Wider picture from aria (maybe because of wider position). Chorus have better dynamics but becomes annoying to listen with time because of much intensive highs.
Different sounds. I like none. I tested both for a long time , including focal aria 926,936, less aggressive than focal 836W. For 6 months I could listen to them and I found the Magnat quantum 807 better, wider, detailed, and in palisander color they were one of the nicest I saw and I had. The couple with marantz - Magnat was not nice but with BC 332, incredible good ...
Now I have tannoy revolution xt8f and xt6f. I prefer to focal 836, aria, and so on. As to me these focal have tend to be too transparent and bright and if you rum them with class d amplifier I cannot bear after 5 minutes.
I prefer the Aria.....smoother, warmer, more natural, deeper sound staging and not as clinical and dry. Most of my music isnt as well recorded as Dire Straights so i dont want it butchered thank you very much!
Assuming this is a genuine A/B test (I'm a cynic) the 4 speaker jobs are superior - but then they would be. Sounds smoother than the 3 speaker' and the bass is a lot fuller. But it's very subjective.
In real life the Chorus is too bright. Boosted treble and missing lower mids. His amp is crap, his room setup is bad. The Chorus is just a better pairing to a cheap amp.
The first major problem is the high of the camera,in aria mid and tweter looking to god instead of listener. Also mine chorus 816w are not bright u need carefull system match.( i have tube amp class a 2x25 and tellurioum q cables) not bright even if i crank the volume the source is turntable and nac cassette deck.). My humble opinion is if you want o more lets say entertaining speaker u pick chorus if you want more elegant aria. Both series worth their money its just a personal taste between these 2 series.
что-то как то сомнительно смотреть на это безобразие. мне кажется дело в усилке. не могут колонки больше звучать хуже чем меньше, примерно одинаковой модели. наверное усилок не тянет

Trying to decide if I should get some pre-owned Aria 926 or new Chora 826. About the same price, wondering if I’d be crazy to not go with the Aria?
The Chorus didn’t have sound treatment on the wall, I think they brighter than the Aria.
Одни достаточно звонкие, другие глуховаты - нет ли золотой середины?
There are a few visible differences that could affect the sound. The Arias are sitting on some slabs and have the panels behind them, they are spaced further apart and a different rack is used to hold the amp. I'm not a fan of this type of comparison video to begin with but they could at least eliminate some more variables. To me it seems like steps were taken to make the Arias appear larger and perhaps sound larger.
Bass of Aria not clear. Might be Aria need big room for avoid echo?.
hello winner focal?o bowers wilkins?
what about range of frequency
What is that streaming from for TV listing etc
Aria sounds muffled in the mids. Smooth but muffled. The 826 is much brighter and to my ears sounds better. I prefer a v shape signature. The detail to me in the 826 reminds me of my clears ran through the topping d90 a90 stack. So. Much. Detail.
On youtube the Chorus 826 VW sound better, the Aria 936 seem less clear, bass taking over too much. But I assume that the Arias have a wider soundstage, the speakers disappearing while with the 826 VWs you still hear where the sound is coming from. (I own a pair of 2nd hand Electra 926s btw).
are you using the same speaker cables on each speaker
He is not even using the same room, nor the same absorbers behind the speakers - how can u compare from such a vid?
826. Clearly!
This is the Chora line, not the Chorus, correct?
It's the previous Chorus line, but a special run with the Utopia W Cones instead of the Polyglass woofers.
Please test(battle) with Tannoy Revolution XT 8F
@@ulises3113 Thanks, understand you. Very interesting tannoy. I definitely need to sign up for an audition. Also interested Acoustic Energy AE 509
I like the tonality of the aria's better, bit warmer. But the bass could be tighter. I don't like the tweeter on the chora's
Какой усилитель ? И источник ?
Bless You al out there 🙏🧙♂️
Wtf? People are comparing speaker performance across RUclips? Goodness me.
I like the short ones better by about 6 million miles. The bass of the taller sounds hummy and overemphasized bleeding into the mids.
Both are ultimate depends on mood
Focal Chorus 826
Focal Chorus better sound, more open if I may say.... Aria sound more confined...sound is not so clear, especially the lyrics... my oppinion.
True %1000
Not in person...
Микрофон камеры расположен относительно ВЧ и СЧ этих АС по-разному - это добавляет разницу в звучании
Я тоже на это обратил внимание, потому как не могуг АС на прилично дороже играть хуже бюджетных...
Wider picture from aria (maybe because of wider position). Chorus have better dynamics but becomes annoying to listen with time because of much intensive highs.
Too bad the 836W is so hard to find these days.
Chorus 826 all day long more natural sound voices are clear and bass almost same
Focal Chorus 826 W Special Edition
Are the 826w still available?
Ebay.com
I prefer the one with 4 drivers, not 5.
play some 21 savage
Different sounds. I like none. I tested both for a long time , including focal aria 926,936, less aggressive than focal 836W. For 6 months I could listen to them and I found the Magnat quantum 807 better, wider, detailed, and in palisander color they were one of the nicest I saw and I had. The couple with marantz - Magnat was not nice but with BC 332, incredible good ...
Magnat... 😂😂😂😂
Magnat... bahahahahahahahahahahaha! What a clown.
Intelligent answer
Now I have tannoy revolution xt8f and xt6f. I prefer to focal 836, aria, and so on. As to me these focal have tend to be too transparent and bright and if you rum them with class d amplifier I cannot bear after 5 minutes.
I prefer the Aria.....smoother, warmer, more natural, deeper sound staging and not as clinical and dry. Most of my music isnt as well recorded as Dire Straights so i dont want it butchered thank you very much!
ARIA 936
Not correct comparison, there is some treatment behind aria as well as plates under the speakers
i'm more impressed by B&W or Dali
I know in person the Arias are better
CHURUS ОДНОЗНАЧНО СОЧНЕЕ И ЛУЧШЕ!!
aria 936 spielt wärmer und zurückhaltender ist besser im hochton ,die eindeutig bessere box .aber die 826 ist auch klasse .
Focal Chorus!!!!
826 is open and more clear
I think the aria must not be set up quite right. I can tell their mid and treble blends better but the bass is bloated crap.
Almost no difference. The 936 is a touch more bass heavy but that's no surprise.
что-то как то сомнительно смотреть на это безобразие. мне кажется дело в усилке. не могут колонки больше звучать хуже чем меньше, примерно одинаковой модели. наверное усилок не тянет
la 826 doit etre fatiguante a la longue tropde mediums aigues
Polk audio S 60 have same sound and are much cheaper
Mmm, not quite. I see why you think so but to my ears their treble didn't sound realistic.
How is it possible to take anything of value about how these speakers sound from a recording of them 😂😂😂😂
826 has a better sound.
