we are upgrade twins! First I put in a 1660s, that was great, but then I found a local 6600 which turned out to be a 6600xt. TOTAL WIN. Not gonna need to upgrade for a long time.

I’ve been looking at this exact ebay listing considering it because I do have the parts to make it a little better and this video finally made me make my decision
those motherboards are custom designed for those cases. The front usb ports are apart of the motherboard itself. I have no idea why hp switched to this design, but at least with older hp cases you could swap out the motherboard and still have front usb port connectivity since it was a connection and not apart of the motherboard itself.
I have a HP Victus Gaming laptop, I did a ram upgrade and a SSD upgrade. Byfair the best windows machine I've ever had!

I've got a SFF OptiPlex 7010 with a gen 3 processor and I'm pleased with the gaming performance, which is about mid-range. My GPU is an RTX A2000 (I got the build idea from you guys).
HP (or one of their major resellers, usually Costco with Microcenter deals) dumped a ton of these refurbished units into the market a couple months back. Keep an eye on Micro Center to catch one cheap too.

Found a good deal, these exact PCs for only $275 in my state at a mom&pop PC shop. Gonna pick one up for my sister’s first PC and at this price point- I can’t rationalize spending any bit more for the power returns I’d get finding something for any bit more. Not a shabby little PC!

After checking the price for a HP victus 15L which comes with ryzen 5 5600G and a gtx 1650 with a memory of 512gb ssd and 8gb ram. I realize for the same price I just bought a ryzen 4 4500 with rtx 3060ti memory of 1tb ssd and 2 tb of hdd and 32 GB of ram
I have this same PC but I found a hp 700watt power supply that fits perfectly
Walmart currently has this exact same HP Victus computer on clearance for $399. The only problem with this computer is the RX 6400 video card. When tested on PCIe 3.0 there is a sizeable drop in FPS with the RX 6400. While the RX 6400 isn't all that impressive it still outperforms older cards like the RX 560.
Not really, try looking at some recent benchmarks, isn't as big a difference as you think. Newer drivers has seemed to narrow the gap.

@@traitoR142 The 6400 definitely still suffers from pcie 3.0. The issue is the 6400 is a pcie x4 card, and at 3.0 speeds is slow, driver updates can't fix that. While the 6400 may run games surprisingly well in a 3.0 system, it would undoubtedly be noticeably faster in 4.0 system.

@@Minnesota.Highlander the 6600XT is pcie x8, there isn’t a much of a difference in performance on gen 3 vs 4 for x8 cards. You’ll only run into issues with pcie x4 cards on gen 3.

How well does it keep cool under high loads? That tiny screen of holes doesn't look like it would allow much air intake when your CPU/GPU are going full speed.
I have heard you have to use pc4-3200aa ram to get the full 3200mhz. I have also heard it just has to be 1.2v. Are either or both of these things true? If so, which one?

Add 1 more stick of ram dual channel will be always better than single channel.
But if u have the money maybe go for quad channel maxing out that average mobo to it's limits.

I bought a new one a few days ago. From one moment to the next the front light "V" no longer turns on. How do you turn that light back on or did it burn out?
I have an M01 system with the 4700g. Your biggest issue in your system is the single stick of ram; that cuts system bandwidth in half. A second problem is that the CPU only has 16mb of cache (better than the 8mb a 4700g has, but only half of what a 5600 would have). Also, these boxes don't have a lot of room; I am considering dropping in a 5700X and a better cooler than the one HP used, which seems to use intel standard mounting? saved them money on parts, but unexpected for the ryzen processor.
The motherboard supports the 5700x?
@@krgp the northbridge chipset is the B550A -- which is a marketing term for B450 refresh. PCIe is limited to version 3, and other limitations.
HP doesn't really like DIY, so they don't publish much in the way of specs; but the case and the same board were used in their "gaming pc's" from the same design era (ie, before B550 was released). It depends on whether HP wants to bother to update the bios to support the later generation.
I do know the bios was updated twice while I was using it. Check with an actual HP support person; I was going to try it anyway, but never got around to it.
I ended up picking up one of those Lenovo P520 Thinkstation's from Ebay last week and just installed a 512GB 2.5" SSD and an RX 580 8GB. Sold it for $375. Thanks for the heads up on those and now they are even cheaper! I thin this build is a much better value though than the Victus.

I got this refurbished, sold the RX6400 and got an used RTX 3070 for it. Added a ram. So I got 5600G + 16GB + 3070 Combo for around $400 total (got a really good refurb deal on this HP). 350W can handle a RTX 3070 FE version fine only if you undervolt it (total power consumption of entire PC when heavy QHD gaming hovers around 250-280W with Undervolting). And 3070 FE card only needs one 8 pin power. Also, I overclocked the Ram to 4000MHz using Ryzen master. Blazing fast gaming PC for $400 + deal hunting time/effort. Note that SAM/ReBar is ON by default yay.
Is the infinity fabric clocked at 2000Mhz on that setup? A 2:1 ratio is best for performance and most of these struggle to go over 1800Mhz, making Mem clocks of 3600Mhz optimal for performance.

The question is whether the full R5 5600 gets you PCIe 4.0. definitely splurge up from the 6400. It is terrible value because you are paying the Low profile and new card tax. Cards you can get for the same price that perform better: RX5700, RX6600. Get one of these barebone with at least 16GB ram and a r3. Then put in the card and a non APU processor. Not sure if its a good propsition otherwise. But you can get systems like this on trash day when people mess up their windows install or a component dies.

Ok so I am a console player who desperately wants a gaming pc and I was wondering since this is cheap is it good quality does it run at 60 fps or higher and 4K can I play Xbox or PlayStation games or stuff and does it come with the graphics card and all that stuff cuz idk how to insert or set it up
The stock 6400 or 5500 video card is only good for 1080p at lower settings, if you get one with 6600xt that's good for 1440p with higher settings on games like fortnite, if you want 4k you need a completely different system with larger power supply and 4070 or better. Twice the price range or more for 4k.
I have an r3 version of this , price is decent , they can keep the video card $100 rx580 runs better .

I got the Pavilion version with the rx5500 for $200 when they clearances them out.
These use a newer revision of the same basic MB with the only significant difference being 2 of the front panel USB ports are faster.
You should try upgrading this to the most powerful GPU the power supply will support.

Yeah, but you're kinda lopsided. Ram should cost no more than $40. An A320 motherboard works too and can be cheaper even if you have to buy a pre Ryzen AM4 to flash it. The 980 is an ok starting point. But new RX580 8GB were going for $45 on AliExpress (only 2,000 something processor edition, but still ok). GTX 1070 can be had for $80. But RX5700 or 6600 is good deal for $100-150

I'm guessing You can upgrade them but rn I can't think of any budget alternatives but if price isn't a problem I recommend the Nvidia 3060 +the i13 or i12 since it's still a good option just not necessarily cheao
Or you could get the Nvidia 4090 but there's really no point since they are both nearly the same and you can run any game better than great with the 3060 but if Ur really looking for the best one you can get them the 4090 but if Ur on a budget and can't afford a 10k GPU then yk the 3060 or maybe the 2060 idk (it's fine if U can't afford it I don't think anyone in these comments can tbh like tf they think we make 7 digits a month like 💀💀) anyways I don't really know much about PC's but you could also go do some digging I'm sure you can find some better alternatives for a better price

Slap in a 8gb stick of ram and 4060ti, voila! You have 1080p monster. You can upgrade cpu to 5600/5600x3d(if u are in US) down the road.
Paring iGPU with slightly better discrete GPU is always a bad sign. But. if it is cheap, who cares 😁
It's a badass little PC but the upgrade part is the difficult part. The PSU needs to be upgraded big time; however, from what I read, only certain PSU's can be used. IE HP only. They don't make the 500w one anymore from my research. I don't think you can just put any PSU inside it. Just really keep that in mind before buying this PC.
