I just saw "The Crucible" this afternoon and lived it. Ivo Van Howe is a genius. It was so powerful and frightening and just plain beautiful that I know I'll never see anything like it again. Ben Wishaw is perfect but honestly, the entire cast is phenomenal. Well-deserved Tony noms.
Lovely interview, beautiful talented man, can't wait to see this show in May.
I just got home from seeing the show. It was really fantastic! It's one of my favorites, and he's really great in the role of John proctor
He's even more beautiful and powerful on stage. I was totally blown away. A bit disappointed he didn't win a Tony, but he's not about the glitz and glamour anyway. Well done to all the cast.

He will always be Richard II to me, since that was the first role I saw him play. Well, Richard II or Ariel. I adore Shakespeare to begin with and my dream would be to see Ben Wishaw act opposite David Tennant in The Scottish Play, Twelfth Night, or A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Who would they both play?
He is very refreshing and hard to see him as 35 because of this, his demeanour makes him seem younger.

Totally refreshing to have an answer to the question about dream collaborators and dream roles that doesn't sound like lame career-ambitious attempt to secret these things into fruition. Those people can chill the fuck out. I'm not interested in your rabid childhood wish fulfilment - be like Ben and make some damn art.
